Even when a stranger or sojourner were circumcised within the tribes of Israel; they were still considered "outsiders".

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us (Jew and Gentile); Having abolished in his flesh the enmity even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain (Jew and Gentile) ONE new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both (Jew and Gentile) unto God in ONE body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them which were nigh. For through him we both (Jew and Gentile) have access by one Spirit unto the Father. NOW therefore ye are NO MORE strangers and foreigners, but FELLOWCITIZENS with the saints, and of the household of God. Eph. 2:14-19

THIS is the true body of Christ.

"He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the Lord only, he shall be utterly destroyed.Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt." Exodus 22:20-21

Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the Lord your God. Leviticus 24:22

For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. Romans 10:12

Would you agree or disagree that these scriptures completely agree together and the foundational principles of all three have never changed from the time God revealed it?

There has to be divisions. Its because of a lack of knowledge and wisdom.

Acts 15:5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

The Pharisees who believed started the very first 'division'. Now we have people who agree with the Pharisees, because of their lack of knowledge and wisdom, that wish to sway believers of the Truth over to their side for the sake of 'unification'.

Truth can't unify with a lie. So their will be divisions.

Galatians 3:24-26
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

How can this be reconciled? How can some decide to stay under the yoke of the Law and call for "unification"? How can some no longer be under that schoolmaster?

How can we have such a different understanding of God and His Word and still be unified?

We can't. We have to be real. We can't pretend we have come to Christ and still have to work in the shadow to attain our Salvation. We are called to be in the Light as He is in the Light. So step out from the shadow and into the Light so we can have true unity.

People seem like they have good intentions. But then their stubbornness and pride gets in the way. Its like a short circuit. They almost get it but then go back. And then they almost get it but then go back. bzzzzt.

Hebrews 4:10-11

[SUP]10 [/SUP]For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

You don't enter rest by studying work. You don't enter rest by mimicking what others do or what they have done. You enter rest by coming to Christ. By finally admitting to yourself and to God that the yoke of the Law and its requirement is too much for you to bear.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

We agree with the scriptures, but not your interpretation of them.

I can't figure you out. One moment you're all about grace, the next legalism. Then you're back to grace and disagreeing with those of Legalism. Back and forth. Which is it? haha :)

Kenneth . . . this is what she asked me:

This was my response:

Because the above is what makes us part of the body of Christ . . .

Then explain how Apostle Paul and John both say that if we are preaching other teachings then what the Lord gave then they are not in that body of Christ. For they say the truth is not in us, and eternal life does not abide in us !!!

This goes back to "belief in Jesus" also means you trust in doing what He said, as the Holy Spirit who is in us can not guide us to deny His own teachings and commands.

Keeping with sound doctrine is more important than what now day man doctrines have watered it down to be, as keeping in sound doctrine is emphasized and given warnings to those who do not continue in it. Apostasy means a person who was once walking in the truth, but now is walking by a false doctrine teaching.

Galatians are an example of apostasy as they once walked in the gospel of Christ until false teaching crept in and lead them back to seeking justification by the law. By doing this Paul told them Christ has become of no effect (no remission of sins) to them and they have fallen from grace.

Sola grace. If you could point out where I have advocated legalism, I'd appreciate it.

Well, I know whom you think is in the body of Christ and who isn't . . . I still believe we both are.

Good morning PB!
I don’t mean to be contrary, but I neglected to make something else I firmly believe clear. I don’t know if you are or are not part of the Body of Christ (although I think you are) because all of us learn different things at different times in our lives. Those who genuinely have a heart with which God is pleased, and may be unlearned in a certain area of doctrine and therefore believes just as much as he/she knows, is a part of the Body. This person will continue to strive to learn more and learn correctly. Those who stubbornly stick to things they have been taught by others that contradict any part of God’s Word, (and if they even bother to attempt a study can't let go of their ingrained beliefs enough to objectively discern God's Word) are the ones who are not part of the Body no matter how much they insist they are.

With respect, your quote sounds like a contradiction.
Paul was a believing Pharisee.

But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question. Acts 23:16

Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. Philippians 3:17

Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:1

But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: Acts 24:14

Would you agree that all these scriptures totally agree with themselves and are absolutely true without any additions or subtractions?

Paul was a believing Pharisee.

The key word here is was. Paul repudiated Phariseeism and considered it garbage that he might have Christ.

If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless. But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ. Philippians 4-8

I agree totally with this scripture you present. Do you have any scripture that states that Paul said of himself that he rejected his Pharisaical heritage? I haven't read anything in the Bible that is even remotely close to that endorsement that I can remember. Just the opposite.

The pointing out of the proper teaching to others has nothing to do with having a perfect church, there is no such thing !!!

After seeing what is regarded as proper teaching, a large percentage of the "church" is completely off the rails.

Here on cc I have had people say that just admitting you are ill is actually a denial of faith. I call this the beginning of insanity and mental illness.

You have those who say unless you believe these ideas 1,2,3,4 etc in the way I specify you are lost.
Some say you only have to forgive believers. Others that taking over the world is our calling.
Some command angels, others unless you speak in tongues you are not saved.
Some hold the RC church is the only authority or that preacher down the road is the only "biblical" church there is.

Now I work in order of importance.
Does the person know what love is? Does the person know what forgiveness through the cross means to them personally and how it impacts their daily life?

Unless these two points have been experienced or understood nothing else matters, because the foundation is wrong.

One cc member suggested I was being victorian, and old school, the church had moved beyond this.

How many here know what love is, dying for their fellow man because there is a need? I know many do, but it is obvious a fair few number do not. I conclude the religious experience is therefore difficult and complex, and stirring up arguments over lesser issues resolves very little.

rolls eyes..

Half of pauls writings were his repudiating and rejecting his pharisee background and speaking against phariseeism.

The scripture I presented plainly states that Paul considered Pharaseeism garbage compared to the riches of Christ. How much clearer does it need to be? Paul didn't call himself a Pharisee to the Sanhedrin because he agreed with the Pharisees or followed their teachings, but because he wanted to create division between the Pharisees and Sadducees.

What I said sounds like a contradiction but you don't see the contradiction in acts 24:14???

What would 'they' consider the way of heresy?

Not being under the yoke of the law is what 'they' would consider heresy.

And yet Paul worships, not being under the yoke of the law, and still believing all things which are written in the law and the prophets.

No, those scriptures don't 100% agree with each other. If Paul were a true Pharisee he wouldn't worship in a way that other Pharisees would consider heresy. Paul was different than they were in his understanding. Paul was a Christian.

It really isn't that difficult though which is why the Lord said His yoke is light and His commands are not burdensome.

The reason why His ways are not burdensome is because it is based on faith, hope, and love, but the greatest one of those three is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)

Thus that love in the Word of God says this:

1) By love in Him you will do as He said

2) By love you will keep His commandments

3) By love you will do no wrong to others

4) By love is how a true faith is established

5) By love shows the truth and eternal life abides in a person

For by walking in love keeps, upholds, and establishes the teachings and commands of the Lord in our lives.

I see to many doctrines now days that either do away with what Jesus said, or parts of what He said, or they take and turn commands into suggestions. A command is never to be taking in that manner !!!

Also we have the Holy Spirit within us to help keep us in that sound doctrine of the Lord and build our lives off of it and esteem and build up the body of believers in Him.

The bible says there is no private interpretations with scripture and this is because the Holy Spirit can only guide all believers in One Truth !!!

Philippians 3:4-9King James Version (KJV)

4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Sadly, I think some people will just never get it.. They will continue in their legalism defending it until the end. Then most likely weeping and gnashing their teeth for eternity because they had the truth, and rejected it.

But don't we become members in the body of Christ by being baptized by one Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ?
I believe that is the first step, which is of course vital. I’m sure you know people who say they are Christians and still live a life of sin. I worked with a young girl at one time who claimed to be a Christian but lived with her boyfriend. It is sin and it was her choice to do it. She was no more a part of the Body of Christ than my dog. After the first step we must ‘practice’ salvation. Let me explain what I mean. If you give me a gift – let’s say, a nice new car – and I say thank you, that’s wonderful, etc. and park it in my garage, never driving it, what good is it? Do I really appreciate the gift? And, historically even, not speaking of Jesus and His disciples now but any major player in history, when people become followers of a leader, they try to learn all they can about him/her and what he/she teaches. They are devoted to that leader, as we should be to God. And we have a wonderful ‘owner’s manual’ to learn way more than any human teacher can teach us. Logically speaking, there would be no need for the entire Bible if we were supposed to ignore some of it.

Jesus said in Matthew 28:18-20, (NAS)
18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

That “Great Commission” given by Jesus is only being partly fulfilled most of the time today. Discipleship is practically a lost art because we are content to see people repeat the ‘sinners prayer’ after the preacher, and call it good enough. “ALL” gets left in the dust, and the new convert is soon bombarded with temptations by the adversary and has no idea how to fend him off. Hence, living with the sin they have always lived with…but they say they are ‘saved’ because that’s just how it’s done. Jesus didn’t stop instructing his disciples once they accepted Him as the Messiah – He continued to teach them.

It really isn't that difficult

You are joking. Have you got eyes? Have you read the bible? Have you ever wondered why we need the whole bible?

Because walking with Jesus into heaven is almost impossible.

The rich young man who walks away and the disciples say "Who then can be saved" matt 19:25

The answer is it is only possible with God.

Many years ago I thought I understood myself and those around me. 30+ years later I realise I was wrong, and things were and are more complicated and flawed than I was aware of.
