Thank you LieDetector, we need more encouraging people around here. Encouragement to actually do what our Messiah said and not just wear a T-shirt that says "I love Jesus". He says if you love Him, follow Him.

Actually, the term "Legalism" can never be used to describe keeping the Commandments of Almighty. No, that is called "Obedience". Legalism would be best described as following the doctrines, rules/ regulations of men....but there are those who love to call evil good and good evil and will try to intimidate so they can control you. How obvious it is on CC for instance, scripture does not matter as much as "one's own opinion". ..and using scripture selectively in order to justify how one wants to live rather than studying scripture to learn what our Creator asks of us...
*parsed quote*
The use of selective scripture is surely an enormous problem in the body of Christ, yes sadly that's true :(. Those who adhere to the entire Word and reject no part of it seem to be a remnant. The truth of the matter is that a person can make the Word say whatever they want it to say by picking & choosing passages here & there. Some do it out of ignorance, and others do it because they want to justify living how they wish instead of walking with God.

Those who point the finger yelling "legalist" at believers who walk with God are simply persecuting them, although (most are) blind to the fact that it's what they're doing. It can be very difficult & discouraging to be persecuted in this fashion, but God uses these instances as tests of our character..He watches to see how we respond, and it is not easy to respond with truth while not getting upset, but that is what we must learn.

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do - Luke 23:34

It was other believers who attacked Jesus, not the world.. so we can expect pretty much the same. These end times will show forth a great divide within Christian circles. It can be expected although it's not always a lot of fun.
God bless you and you continue to go forward in faith & obedience to Yahweh.

The Word of God was crucified with our sins, but resurrected without the sins of those who have repented from their sins. All of the Word resurrected, not just part of the Word. Amen to your post. Good to have you with us!

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Well that's new. How can a person adhere to the Old Testament and to this New Way at the same time?

2 Corinthians 3:7-9
[SUP]7 [/SUP]But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
[SUP]8 [/SUP]How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
[SUP]9 [/SUP]For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

How do you adhere to the ministration of death and walk in the Way of Life at the same time?

Answer: You can't. What you can do is waffle between the two. A blend of grace and works.

All knowledge and wisdom and Revelation of Christ is an absolute Miracle and wonderful gift. I am immediately thankful and burdened by it, simultaneously. Its so amazingly awesome when you can speak about Christ with people and they understand. And its equally as frustrating when others attempt to re-define what Christianity actually is to make Christianity no Christianity at all.

If you want to work at the law why not just be honest and say you want to work at the law? Why try to twist scripture and opinions in order to do it? Is it because real christians already know that is not the way, the truth or the life?

Acts 15:7-10

[SUP]7 [/SUP]And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
[SUP]9 [/SUP]And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

I've always wondered: who makes these decisions??? do they ever wonder if maybe they left out the right part, put in the wrong part, maybe we THOUGHT that was not valid, maybe it was, but I don't know, but it could be........................... see what a mess works Salvationism is??
Keen observation. J. Gresham Machen explains that like this, "A low view of law always produces legalism; a high view of law makes a person a seeker after grace." The reason this seems so counterintuitive is because most people think those who talk a lot about grace have a low view of God’s law (hence, the regular charge of antinomianism). Others think those with a high view of the law are the legalists. But Machen makes the compelling point that it’s a low view of the law that produces legalism, since a low view of the law causes us to conclude we can do it—the bar is low enough for us to jump over. A low view of the law makes us think the standards are attainable, the goals reachable, the demands doable. This means, contrary to what some Christians would have you believe, the biggest problem facing the church today is not “cheap grace” but “cheap law”— the idea that God accepts anything less than the perfect righteousness of Jesus.

To all concerned,

The bolded is a central tenet of Hebrew Roots doctrine, and of one organization in particular.

Oh my heavens. Do not attempt to associate me with an 'organization' or some 'doctrine' or movement you've dug up. My beliefs are founded in no person or movement. They are founded in the Word of Truth and it alone (I'm talking about scripture in case anyone needs clarification, lol)

Y'all have a blessed day now :)

People got to make up your mind, are you going to live after the law or God's promises?
Is the walk of faith so hard that you must resort back to the tutorship of the law?

Galatians 4:25-29 KJV
[25] For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. [26] But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. [27] For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. [28] Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. [29] But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

This accusation is reused more than old dish rags. Don't worry tho, it's never the last resort..merely one of many.

I was raised Baptist, all my family believes in the Bible. I think it's bothered me for a long time tho, I knew something was missing. What I was being taught in church and what I read in scripture, didn't exactly match. I am sick of "religion". So, for about 2 years I have earnestly sought truth, period. Not a part of any organized religion, just careful study with prayer or/also among a few. The truth will remain, what was truth is still truth. If we diligently seek Him..He will let us find Him. He made His acts known to the children of Israel, He made His ways known to Moses.

Amen! Let's us all put away the works of the law and be the children of promise by grace through faith.

"When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners."

I wonder if you know what you're talking about. Could you give one example of how Messiah upheld Father's commandments while smacking down man made commandments?

edit to say-- cos you can't say He didn't uphold Torah, else you say He is a lier and not the real Messiah.

Moses? What happened to Abraham, the model of faith?
many like to hang with Moses under a conditional covenant rather than with Christ under an unconditional New Covenant which includes a walk of faith just as Abraham walked.

Funny, I don't have to wonder if you understood what I was talking about.

Hebrews 10:16This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds."

what laws? I love the 10 commandments because He caused me to love them. Now, I've been here long enough to think you may not love the 10 commandments..you always speak against them. So I ask because I don't know, what laws?

They don't have faith. That's why they cling to the law.

I've always said His laws are a reflection of His nature. It's His new nature we have received via the new birth.
Many have not received the new birth and are attempting to keep the 10 commandments in their own strength, rather than let the Life of Christ in them (if He really is in them) to conform them to His image.
Stay at Mt. Sinai if you wish...I prefer Mt. Zion.

Of course He did, how could He not? He is the very fulfillment of the law, the full fruition all that the Law pointed to pictorially and custodially.

It's not hard to see this. Messiah was always defending Father's laws and expressing His disdain for man made rules and regulations..with every recorded miracle He did that. A direct slap in their face about all they had added to/taken away from Torah. Don't take my word for it, find it, you can even google it, how easy is that? Don't be afraid to find out what Jesus said! It's all about Jesus, right? Why is it nobody even reads what Jesus said? It's no different today, in that those who simply follow Torah are ridiculed and mocked by those who walk after their own imaginations..claiming they walk by spirit. Well, if indeed it is the Spirit from Almighty it will never lead you contrary to Father's instructions.
