You do if you don't think that Christ can and does hold things against us. Not condemnation. Think father against whom son sins. Or husband against whom wife sins.

Thanks for the inspiration to go read Rev again. Before I do, is this latest debate over whether Rev 2-3 applies to us as individuals or not? (obviously there's 7 letters to 7 churches, but I often struggle with the 'personal application' of it.)( And I'm not saying there ISN'T one...)
I believe parts of it (chapters 2-3) directly apply to every believer since it was written. The rest has special relevance to those who will live to see that day.
The point was not whether it applies to us, but whether Christ holds things against those who sin. If we believe that Christ's message to the 7 churches means something, at a minimum I think we have to conclude that he was not happy with 4 of the 7 churches. He said he held something against 3 of those churches. I think it's reasonable to assume that he is the same way towards individuals.

Hmm. You say the point is whether Christ holds things holds things against those who sin? But I don't see how Rev 2-3 applies to that point. John was directed to write a book, and that book was to be delivered to 7 churches. Within that book were 7 distinct msgs, one specific to each of those 7 churches, as contained in ch.2-3. Although in my own personal reading, I can always take the Word and apply it directly to my own walk, (both warnings and blessings), as the Holy Spirit would lead, in order to grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord, I don't want to assume that what I read applies to another individual believer, especially when the given passage specifically says it is written to specific 'churches' within the larger body, (THE Church). Moreover, in my opinion, and I admit I'm a real 'rookie' at this, so I always welcome correction/instruction, But I see the answer before I even get to Ch.2-3. In Ch.1 verse5b-6a, the Bible says, '...Unto Him that loved us, and WASHED US FROM OUR SINS IN HIS OWN BLOOD, And has made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; ...' . This doesn't sound to me like he is holding anything (sin-wise) against individuals. God bless you all posting in this thread, I'm seeing brothers and sisters who really care about knowing God's Word, and that's pretty cool.

How is it that Christ is not angry with us when we sin against him whom we are in a relationship with? What intimate human relationship on earth operates like that?

I'm sorry, I thought the Q was 'does God hold anything against us' in relation to Rev 2-3, not, 'Is Christ angry with us when we sin'. As stated before in Rev1:5-6, He loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and made us kings and priests unto God...' . What intimate human relationship on earth sends their only begotten Son for the sole purpose of shedding His blood and dying on a cross to pay for our sins? A unique relationship to begin with, to say the least.
When Jesus died on the Cross His Blood washed us clean of all our sins, past, present, and future.
Ephesians 1:7

Romans 5:9

Its not about our sins anymore. Its all about walking in the Light with Jesus. If we walk in the Light we will not sin. If we do not walk in the Light we do sin. But the Blood of Jesus has cleansed us from all our sins.
We will not be Judged by our sins, we will be Judged by the Book of Life. If our name is in the Book of Life we will enter into Heaven.
When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior is when our name is written in the Book of Life.
Does this mean you can sin all we want? No.

This erson thinks he can save hmself by doing, And does not realise, God (jesus) did
Jesus said it ia finished, He did not say I am done, now you do your part.
Questions to all: when sin defiles our consciences, how are they cleansed? We acknowledge (confess) our sin and move on right? Not acknowledging a defiled conscience is a state of denial, isn't it?

Yeah, sometimes you do. But then comes the question.
Do you kick your kids out of the house and your family and say they no longer have your inheritance if they keep on sinning?
If every parent did this, the homeless shelters would be full of kids, because every parent would kick every child out of their house.
What your doing is making an impossible condition on all of Gods children, and making God to be less of an abba, and more of a dictator.

No, I thank God I am still alive, and move on, I do not focus on my sin, Focusing on sin is what got me to sin in the first place. because I focused on sin and not God.
If I struggle with a sin issue I confess it to my closes brothers in Christ, because I need help.
Uh actually we do have to do our part: believe and love. When Jesus said it was finished he meant the penalty for sins was paid and the power of sin was broken. His work was finished; ours won't be over until we're dead.
So you admit that acknowledgment (confession) of sin is part of the healing process. Yes?
