I was up late today just thinking and my thoughts started to wander to a game I used to play with Jessica. We would both ask each other, if we could pick anytime period to visit, which one would you choose and why?

We both always had an interest in the period of the Crusades because of the intrigues of God and politics of medieval times. That and we would play Assassin's Creed every Sunday night.

But I'm curious as to what other people will say.

I would like to visit in the mid 1800s. I would live in a town like Walnut Grove and live a wholesome pioneer life. And the 1900-10s....because of the clothes. Or maybe Renaissance, again for the clothes. Maybe I just need to get some costumes lol.

Oh that does sound fun. I always had a thing for the Renaissance especially.

Yeah we have this festival here I've been to a few times and it's a bunch of fun and laughs. Although it's probably nothing like the real thing. But the awakening of culture, arts, sciences and philosophy in that time must have been exciting. ..and the clothes.

Hmmm.
I'd like to visit Egypt at some time during the reign of the pharaohs
and I'd like to drop by the Aztecs and the Mayans while they were each at their height

I take a general interest in most time periods and their happenings, the culture at the time, some of the architecture, and the zeitgeist.

But visit? I wouldn't want to visit any particular point in history - save for, maybe, specific events (MLK's "I have a dream" speech, Apollo 11's TV broadcast of the moon landing, or even Woodstock). Despite how much we stigmatize how bad modern times are, a lot of barbaric and heinous stuff has gone down over the course of history that I really wouldn't want to be a part of.

That's true. I absolutely wouldn't want to live in the 12th Century Holy Land but visiting there for a little bit, doing some crusading type things could be fun for a while.

"You could hardly do better than that!" :D

Next to that -- perhaps, to be in the Garden of Eden before Adam and Eve sinned...

Either during the American Revolution time frame or the mid to late 1800's. I would find it interesting as to what our ancestors truly thought about the type of lives they led, by choice or not, and what message they would send to those not familiar with their type of life. Gettysburg happened in July of 1863, so I would think it would be interesting to get a glimpse of the gruesome horror and suffering they went through with that.

I would say the 80's because they had the best music, clothes, and I loved the hairstyles.
