All mankind stands condemn already, the Gospel is a message of life.

Absolutely, without Christ we're condemned to die in sin. Yes the gospel is life if we turn from sin and accept Christ. When you preach the Word you condemn sin. If the sinner doesnt repent they are condemned. Not that you dont know this.lol Maybe the word Im looking for is offended. I feel like people think we should preach so as not to offend anyone.I dont see that is possible if you're preaching the truth.

Well said,I agree with it all but one point I have to ask about. How can you preach the gospel without condemnation? If homosexuality is wrong then preaching from the Bible is going to condemn that sin. Did I misunderstand that,or could you explain better? We're condemned to death if we dont repent of sin,if we continue to live the lifestyle. Its hard to preach the truth without condemnation of sin.
"There is therefore now no condemnation for those that are in Christ." Earlier I mentioned no condemnation and in Christ was right next to it. The point being, God doesn't condemn them in Christ. You would be presenting the Gospel to them, after all. You present to them the "Good News", and that is that Jesus paid the penalty of their sin and in Him is no condemnation. Jesus has reconciled them to God.

Also, you don't preach to them in the manner of condemnation and anger, like that of the street preachers on Youtube. Calling people whores, and filthy scum. Jesus didn't come to condemn the world but save it, so why would we go and condemn people? Unnecessary, just present the Gospel truth to them. Even better, operate in power and don't rely on your own wisdom and crafty arguments. Let God work through you to minister to the non-believer, in whatever way He sees fit (such as healing, word of knowledge, etc).

You often see people condemning the world, and it presents us as self-righteous. Yet the bible says that Jesus is the propitiation for the sins of the world, that includes the non believers. So, in actuality, their sins (plural) aren't the issue. The real issue or sin (singular), if you will, is disbelief in Jesus Christ. In order to obtain or have the forgiveness credited to your account is through belief in Jesus by the drawing of the Holy Spirit.

That is at the heart of the problem, yes they are condemned, so there is no need to start pulling their fingers off of the cliff while they are hanging for dear life. You are to give them the rope, the life line. That is Jesus, that is the Gospel. Do you really need to emphasize to the person hanging off the cliff just how crappy their situation is? In the same way, you can ask someone by their own conscience if they have ever sinned and they will honestly say yes, they know they've done something wrong in their life. It doesn't take condemnation to bring them to this reality, it takes realizing that Jesus paid the price for their sin and he is the escape or exit on their highway to Hell.

PS: That's why the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin (singular), as Jesus said, "because they believe not on Me." Disbelief is the sin here, and it is the most grievous of sins because it denies the Son of God's sacrifice on behalf of man.

You are talking about bringing in the law before the Gospel to break up hard hearts.
I was referring to the fact that it is only the Gospel that sets a person free from the condemnation they are already under.
Usually both are needed.

yes, they are already condemn but what if they believe they are just fine as is? Only giving them the Gospel will confirm them in their delusion. No?

So I read something about american churches that embrace the 'LGBTQ community.' Those churches show their love of gays, lesbians and the like by displaying rainbows flag on the facades of the church buildings and by using them at gatherings etc. But people keep stealing, 'vandalizing' and even burning those banners:.. understandable, because the flag itself is a provocation for true christians.

Now we shouldn't touch other people's belongings, let alone vandalize or steal them, but sometimes enough is enough. Ofcourse, scripture tells us to submit to governing authorities (Rom 13: 1-7), but isn't some sort of civil disobedience or even further action (in God's name) in order here? Like it says in Acts: We ought to obey God rather than men. (Acts 5: 29)

How about flying the Isis flag? All kinds of flags. That church is not about truth. It's about seeking to please others. Win favor.

Another question just came to me. Would Jesus have burned one of those flags? I think you already know the answer.

Jesus would not have to burn a flag that supports the gay lifestyle

His Father already gave His opinion on homosexualtiy

I don't think He has changed His mind

My opinion on burning flags would be that it is not very helpful for either side

Would Jesus have burned one of those flags? Honestly, I dont know about that.
But in the bible, it says he drove out all who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves.

And, would HE have raised one of those flags? No, I dont think so.

I just know that it is the goodness of God that leads men to repentance. Show them the love of God. Don't condemn, as Jesus didn't condemn the woman caught in adultery. Show them the love of God. Preach the Gospel, the Good News and let it melt their hearts. Reveal to them the plan of Reconciliation and the Lord's heart towards man.

"Though we have sin, He sent His Son to die for us and to pay our penalty. How good is He!? Did you know as well, He bought your healing? Is any among you sick? God just wants to show you His love, right now. Anyone with pain or sickness, come here for prayer." I mean, even Jesus had signs confirming His ministry and if we are to emulate Christ, then we too should operate in power for His glory and confirmation of His Word. Just... be an extension of Christ to the world, we are His hands and feet. Be a vessel for God to love others through you, so that they may experience His goodness.

Sometimes I find people spend too much time debating people on the existence of God and addressing hecklers when they should just be letting the Holy Spirit flow through them in power, healing the sick, or ministering to people things the Lord is revealing to them for that person.

well no, Jesus didn't come to take sides...we are supposed to take His side and represent Him

however, we know that homosexuality is not acceptable

IMO, some people would not want to go into a church with that sort of flag

it could be interpreted different ways

Do you see the flag on the church? Look, there it is. Up flying in your face. Do you see that?

That's not the women taken in adultery. That's not I don't know the truth. That's a well established church that's blaspheming and obscuring the truth.

Some of us know about being gentle. But this is a church. Don't you think some folks have complained to them and been polite and even showed them the truth. But they don't remove it.

No church claiming to be one that follows Jesus ought to wave a flag that represents open rebellion against the truth.

Put all the facts together. The whole picture.

The woman taken in adultery involved folks who set up that situation to entrap Jesus.

Condemning error is not such a thing.

Open your eyes.

Why don't they post Playboy magazine covers on their walls. Fly the Isis flag. How about putting up a sign Planned Parenthood. Oh, pictures of the pope.

Take down the stupid flag.

It means they don't believe in the bible, though they would claim they do.

Idiots.

the goodness of God just may include His convicting of sin in preparation to see their need for forgiveness of sin.

One reason homosexuals are able to be so open and their lifestyle accepted...those who claim they are Christians do stupid things like fly flags and are so afraid of teaching the truth.

Well they are not a church, at least not a Christian church. It is a Unitarian Universalist "church". They are no more a Christian church than the Jehovah's Witnesses, Christadelphianism etc. Perhaps if that had been made known at the beginning of this thread it would have been a much different thread.

To see the God/man dying on the cross means little.
If added "for your sins" it only takes on significance if the person truly sees themselves as sinful.

I think it matters little to the unsaved...a church building to them represents Church...just as the Crusaders represented Christians.
I hope none of us ever seen it as a Christian Church.

... This thread and some of the responses, by their very subject matter, are to do with the human reproductive system...
I'm sorry, but this thread ISN'T about penises... it's about gay flags on church buildings. If you can't accept that I suggest you make your own thread. Then I won't comment on your phallic fixation and pseudoscientific dribble anymore, I promise.

KaylaGirl: I think part of the issue with supporting homosexuality is that people in churches are worried that homosexuals may be more likely to be pedophiles.

Omni: Scientific studies show this is not the case. Homosexual men were no more aroused by young boys than were straight men aroused by young girls. Therefore, we can move on from that idea.

didymos: This thread isn't about penises. Derp. You must have a phallic fixation. Herp. Science is psuedoscience. Derp.
