Well Ben if you don't repent and accept Jesus you will go to hell so you are in a bit of a pickle if that is your attitude
Go on Youtube and watch street preaching videos, then tell me if that is how you think the apostles preached the Gospel. Could you see Jesus Christ acting in the same way as these preachers, or are they a disgrace to the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Where is their love for man, do not they have the heart of God weighing on their hearts? Where is the compassion and kindness? Surely it is not seen in their words, no, not for those "filthy sinners." The hypocrisy in their preaching is self-righteous, no wonder people harden their hearts to such "preaching."

I am not going to waste my time... I have my preacher and a random street preacher is not it :)

Telling people about cheap grace is also "disgrace to the Gospel of Jesus Christ" .

I think you missed the word properly, in my sentence. Also, can you tell me how cheap the blood of the Son of God is? I didn't realize that grace was cheap, it cost Jesus His life. I, truly, dislike terms like cheap grace, or even worse, greasy grace. Such descriptions of grace are not fitting for God's grace, and yes, His grace is super abounding (according to scripture).
The folks like some on this thread, who represent the grace of God as some way approving sin, are the ones who bring shame upon the term grace. The idea that we cant speak up against this nonsense without being classified as haters, is evidence that grace is being discredited by some.

Define this grace that you find is cheap. How does it differentiate from the grace of God that where sin abounds grace much more (a statement Paul didn't back down from)? Please, I would like to know how people cheapen God's grace. How?

Well folks have been reaching sinners for a long time without flying flags that represent that sexual perversion is ok...I have done prison ministry for many years now and have led hundreds to a real personal relationship with Christ...many where convicted by a look in the eyes...some by a hand laid upon them and a kind word...some by the direct fact that hell awaited them. Many if not most of the gay folks ...have no chance at salvation unless at some point they repent of this sin and turn to Christ in a humble way.... all the flag stuff is nonsense and the folks who go along with this sort of stuff are far from the Will of God on this issue.
My intention is not to be supporting some sort of sinners paradise, I'm just saying that we need to ignore signs like flags etc advocating sin in our work for the Lord...by doing so we are getting sidetracked...dont spend valuable time attacking flags...by doing so people are making those flags even more powerful.

Ben thats not the issue here at all ....and to go from a church hanging a flag that promotes evil into this nonsense about street preachers, proves your not trying to have a honest discussion about this issue and the moral standards of Grace that we are supposed to uphold as believers.

Okay, I can see that as a way some may define as cheapening God's grace, but I wouldn't say it cheapens or has anything to do with God's grace. I would say it is the flesh, not a fruit of God's grace. A misrepresentation of God's grace as lewdness but in that manner they have set aside grace and just gone into the flesh.

Mitspa is spot on, there are people telling you that grace is an "excuse to sin" and when confronting people like that you get the 60s hippy answer of LOVE MAN, ITS ALL ABOUT LOVE... Aaargh

Tell me something Ben, do you believe that grace is a new concept or did God show grace and mercy to Israel and Judah?

Look Jenny...this is not a passing issue...more and more of the so-called church is turning to this sort of wickedness...Of course its right and proper to discuss it and challenge it. It very well could be the defining issue of our time as believers?

I didn't start the thread...but I think its very relative :p

Really? An accusation, how kind. If you'll take notice of my posts, they do address the issue of the flag being used as an endorsement of sin. The street preaching thing came up as a result of my side conversation with Gandalf about condemnation in presenting the Gospel. People alienating non believers from the Gospel due to this condemnation and disdain, lacking love. Thats all, so I think you didn't follow the conversation is all. :)

These people are not even using God's grace as a license to sin, they are completely reinterpreting the bible to say that homosexuality isn't sin at all. Grace isn't even in the picture yet, defining sin is. And they have taken it upon themselves to say that it isn't sin or an abomination for us and only Israel. So, in actuality, this isn't a grace issue but an issue of whether something is sinful or not according to the Word.

I dont think most folks on here are approving sin, but I think showing sinners Christ is far more important than ranting about flags...your prison ministry is a good thing, Mitspa, it really is, I'd like to dare you to be 'prison ministring' on here as well, cuz when you are pacing down a little your words makes an impact:).

Sometimes we should all take a breather and turn down the heat and venom in our arguments :)

Imagine what Jesus wrote in the sand to make the accusers and the sinners scatter :) but then the story is not finished yet, he told the lady to sin no more...

If we love Yeshua we should follow his example...

Reading back through this thread, I am, again, saddened by several people who honestly don't seem to care about helping people come to know Jesus as much as they seem to be primarily concerned with themselves, and making sure everyone knows they are "fine examples", seen telling "sinners" (of which they, in their own minds, seem to be far removed... ) how filthy they are. And it honestly does seem that they feel their "job" hasn't yet been done till they can brag that they ran off yet another......... "proving", (to themselves, I guess) that they uncovered one more "unrepentant" person.

They don't ever even seem to realize that these poor people are not so much, rejecting God, as they are being driven away from Him by the actions of people who really don't care very about them, at all.

Cheap grace, Ive never heard that term, but I know it. I have lived that life before, perverting the verse that we are no longer under the law, but under grace into a "youre free to do what you want as long as you believe" way of life. Its definitely real, and I definitely think that as His followers we should guide people away from that false teaching.
