Hey y'all. How is everyone?
So today I fell down the stairs from my apartment complex. No, we do not live on the second floor, we live on the first. But this morning around 4 AM we heard a cat crying loudly. My mom and I woke up and I told her I would check what it was. It was the neighbor's cat.

We are friends with this neighbor but we know that he goes to bed early because he wakes up early to work. I thought I would be a good neighbor and give his cat water since that is why she was crying. Plus I couldn't let her parch, right? Anyways, I go back down the stairs, filled her bowl up with water, then go back up and give it to her (which she right away starts drinking) and as I'm coming down I miss a step and I fall all the way down from the first step, hitting my head on the rail. It was horrible!

I landed face down on the cement and it was dirty, dark, and scary. I couldn't move! So I had to start yelling "mom" "Adam," hoping that either my mom or brother would hear me. They wouldn't come and I wondered if anyone else could hear me. I was afraid I had broken something. I tried to get up but I couldn't. My nose was bleeding. I tried to move and crawl but my right leg wasn't working right. It was cold outside too.

I started crying (from the pain) and hoped that maybe someone else would come out and help me. I was there for about 30 minutes, praying. I asked God to please help me and bring my mom or brother out. I was really scared to be outside by myself and I didn't even know if I had cracked my skull or if I was bleeding. All I knew was that my back and head were really hurting me. Finally, after those 30 minutes my mom came out! She called my brother and they both helped me up and into our apartment.

I went to the doctor and they told me I sprained my back and tore ligaments on my leg. My head received a hit with the rail but it didn't bleed internally however, I did have a bleeding wound.

I've been on pain meds today and I slept like all day! LOL Now that I'm awake I wanted to share my story with you guys. Apparently my mom had fallen back to sleep and she suddenly woke up after those 30 minutes. I know it was the Lord telling her to get up and help me.

It was scary and kind of embarrassing because I didn't want to be found like that by someone else. I'm happy no one else saw me. LOL Falling down the stairs...that's really embarrassing!
I know it was just 30 minutes but when you're lying in pain like that on cement, with your face down, it seems like forever! I think God was trying to teach me patience.

I also find it miraculous that I came out of it without any broken bones! God it so good!

I'm still in some pain but I'm just grateful to God for all the blessings that I have. It made me think of how blessed I am for having a mom and brother who take care of me, for having health insurance (b/c I know many don't) and for knowing the Lord and being able to go to him in times of need or whenever really. :)

I'm also thankful that my teachers understood my absence today and for the rest of the week. Praise Jesus. :D

So I just wanted to share my story with you guys. It's all good now don't worry. I am blessed. Do you have any 'falling down the stairs' stories? I would like to hear them! ;)

I'm so sorry to hear that Molly.. Get better soon!! It was nice of you give water to your neighbor's cat and I wondering why they didnt gave proper food/water -_-

I have a stupid story about falling from stair.. Its when i was a kid around 6 or 7~ i forgot how old I am at that time..
So, I watched funny cartoon where the character always fall from stair and little me thinking "its looks so fun!! let me try it" and you can guess the rest of the story -_- I cry a lot after that and think "its not fun at all!! its hurt!!" and mom was shocked and run after me as fast as she can.. She didnt believe me when i told her that I try that cartoon scene.. She think i fall by accident.. lol!! Ok.. dumb story i think :p

Get well soon^^

It would traumatize me too much to recall the hundreds of times that I have fallen (and do fall) down stairs.. :/

My mother says I fell down the front porch steps when I was two and split my bottom lip wide open. I don't remember it. But I do know that these days I have very good agility and I've never fallen down anything that I can remember. I can't say for sure but I think it was because of the tumble I took when I was two.

Not a pleasant experience at all, but glad that you were not seriously hurt! I fall down the stairs at least once every winter when I am delivering mail in the snow. Once, I fell down a long flight of icy stairs (basically bounced) all the way down to the sidewalk. A few people saw it happen. It was embarrassing! Now I see why you said, "STAIRS! Those are annoying" in the "What irritates/annoys you?" thread. At first, I was a bit confused why you said that. :p

Oh Molly!! How terrifying that must have been! My heart hurts for you, laying out there for half an hour unable to move or get help... What a long long 30 minutes I bet that was. I'm so glad your mother woke up and went to check on you. What was her reaction to finding you down there?

I'm glad you're doing better and no bones were broken. *hug*

Thank you all I appreciate the kind words. I woke up today with a sharp pain on my back and leg. I guess it's going to take a while for it to go away. I feel loopy with the pain medication they gave me. Yuck.

Grace, my mom was very surprised to see me there. She was happy that I was at least conscious. My brother thought I was beat up by someone and was even more afraid. I quickly told him that it was my fault for being clumsy! LOL

Yes, I'm starting to see cats for what they really are. Maybe the feline pushed me down the stairs and it wasn't my fault! haha Yeah right.

Well, Molly I am so thankful you are okay and will be praying for you. As far as falling down the stairs which story do you want, as it happened quite a bit in my life, but not to the degree you described?
I did fall up the stairs today while at school and proud of it, just kidding it was actually really embarrassing. Lol

"Willie lets the pit bull out the door..."
*Lynx feeds the dog a few meat scraps to become instant friends with him, then curls up beside the dog and they both go to sleep.

What? That's what my cat and dog always did. They were forever lying in the middle of the driveway, curled up against each other.

Yikes, Molly! That sounds painful. You're very courageous! Good on you for looking to God for comfort in that distressing time. I'll be praying for your continual recovery. Please be careful, dear sister. God bless. :)
