Which planet are you on? Which extreme version of Jesus do you follow?
Love is all around you, expressed by people who in no sense are "christian". If people have no capacity to love or be loved, then the gospel would never empathise with anybody, and the world would be dead.

Maybe you are not a dad. You will know the love that comes between parents and their young children, and it is most certainly not anything to do with faith.

Now my friend if you use language like this over such important issues as salvation, good works, righteousness and God, and you are wrong, I suggest you need to learn a lot more about life.

The way you write is like a book worm of theology, labeling a model built in your head, but missing the reality of things around you. With the best will in the world, have you ever fallen in love with anyone, or expressed love to anyone.

Do you say "I love you" to anyone in your life?
sadly, I am on a planet and in a country where the word "love" has lost its meaning.

In our world. I love you as long as you can do something for me, When you stop fulfilling my needs, I stop loving you and I go find someone else to love.

Maybe you need to study the origional languages a bit, You may learn something..

either way, If you think just because you do a good deed, it is a good deed to God,, and that is that way every time, you do not understand scripture.

Maybe your to proud to admit you can do nothing of your own?

This is why the threads get messed up. Why did you say this.

It is unnecessary..."yeah, we know. you want to boast of how great you are." - This comment is unsettling.

Kefa

yeah, we know. you want to boast of how great you are.

Like the pharisee, you love boasting of how your not like the inner.

Maybe on day you will get on your knees and be like the tax collector. Then out of apreciation for gods love do so great works, you are amazed because you did not think God could work like that.

Yeah some think that boasting about what God by His Holy Spirit has done in and through us in our lives is boasting in self.

This is boasting in the Lord which the bible says and shows is not wrong to do, and we are created to do good works, and even Hebrews 6:10 shows a scripture where the Lord says He will remember our good works.

We are taught that faith leads to works, good works. The good works are when we do things to glorify our Father. Most folks thing works are things that are really big, well they are to God, but some of these good works ae prayer. Soeone who is gifted with knowing how to pray is knows he is giving glory to God in so ding. Any of the gifts are works. Praising God, though it comes natural is good works. If one a gift, he uses it to glorify God. Perhaps one is gifted with healing, another with prophesy, actually we all have this gift for in revelation it is declared the testimony of Jesus Christ is the spirit of prophesy. Simply waiting for Jesus is works. Works are anything we are given to do that p gives glory to God. As one said in this forum recently, we had better do what God tess us to do. Surprising ly, this is from someone who is contatly telling me that if I obey I am not under grace,. Now how silly is that. On the onehad, we must do what God tells us to do, and when I pass on the teaching of being children of obedience I am chided as being under the law. Hypocrisy has no limits.

God bless all who are in Jesus Christ, and keep up your good works.......otherwise you will be like the servant who buried his talent of gold..........You just bury it and you are a worthless servent of god, for you have only given Him back what He gave you. Gold is our faith if you did not already know this.

I am staggard, guys, what? There is only love, it is universal, it occurs everywhere. It can be miss-used, lied about, manipulated, faked, but it is still love.

Most guys are so emotionally repressed actually saying "I love you" is impossible. The Lord had to break into my heart, over years, turn me around, teach me about my hurts within, fill me up with His love so it poured out of me, so I can say "I love you" and I mean it.

So I do not believe you are speaking the truth to me or to yourselves. The real test is, do you say to anyone in your life,
"I love you" and mean it.

I love my wife, my children, my mother and tell them all the time. This love and its expression is only possible because of what the Lord taught me and has built me into.

eg - What? You are one hurt cynical christian. Love is used by individuals in many different ways, there is no universal change. You need to start talking to more people and you will find out its diversity and variations.

Because you do not understand love, you do not understand me or my language or even Jesus. It only works, the whole shooting match if the right things are lined up. I know love because Jesus died for me. Nothing I do in my whole life will ever compare to this, I deserve to be in the dust, but he raises me up and calls me friend, righteous, forgiven, pure and holy. To you this is just language, to me, it is my life.

Below is my recent post on what works are. Basically it anything we are given o do that glorifies God. Some of you have not a clue, as it shows in your "grace" posts. Faith leads to good works....always has, always will. Like it or not, obedience is also good works as long as one understands the law in the light of the teachings of Jesus Christ. I thank anyone who callsothers who feel this way, "my brethren," for my brethren are all who do the will of lGod, amen.

How many times I wanted to say exactly this........
I realize there are some hard words on both sides, but it appears often, when reading a thread like this one, that the only arguement against those who state salvation is entirely of God's grace, is that we somehow navel gaze or zip lemon-lime pop and dream of heaven

this is false...it has been addressed literally 100's of times and I am addressing it yet again

no one has stated such a thing

the truth is that nothing is harder to accomplish than a changed heart...no matter how much you all beat this dead donkey, you are not going to change even one heart

that, is the work of the Holy Spirit

Can you please show where myself or anyone else teaches this is not true?

This strawman argument is getting so old. it is next to unbearable. and is the cause of so much of the contention in this chatroom.

yeah...keep talking...I'm starting to understand you a whole lot better

I see nothing to want to emulate

we should be following Christ...God has created us to do the good works HE want us to do...not the ones that get a pat on the back from our buddies or the ones that some think puts them to the front of the salvation line

every single time you state that those who believe there is nothing they can do to earn salvation and nothing they can do to keep it, believe they can continue in sin or never have to do anything...EVERY single time...that you make that type of comment, you are not being truthful

we have disavowed such things over and over

again, this appears to be what you consider as your strongest argement...it is the weakest link in your chain
