It's totally not like that. We have all kinds in there; married, engaged, people dating, and singles. :D

It's a hodgepodge of hypocrisy, but it's a blast!

He he.... You should try "ChristianForums. COM" !!!!!!!!!!!!! (Not... ".NET".... they are a bit more reasonable.) You get stomped on for even "thinking" about posting on one of the many, many "forbidden forums."

*Lynx pokes his black whiskered nose in.

We've never kicked a married person out yet. We have a few non-singles who post there regularly.

I'm sorry jennymae, "y'all" is copyrighted by the state of Tennessee. Only natives may use it freely. All y'all furriners gotta apply for a permit to use it. We apologise for the inconvenience but it is the best way to make sure y'all are using the term correctly.

For example you didn't even use the apostrophe. And since you're a furriner from down in Alabama, if you had used it you probably would have put it in the wrong place, i.e. "ya'll."

See? This is why we gotta require permits to use it.

Sure, "Y'all" sounds purdy much like a Tennesse term, using an apostrophe where it aint necessary;)...I bet yall are writing aint like "ain't" as well?:p You ever know how much time I'm saving by not using that dang apostrophe? In Bama time is sacred, we know how to be spendin our time well....LOL

Sure we gotta have an apostrophe. It's a contraction of you all. That's also why you don't put the apostrophe AFTER the "a" because it's not a contraction of ya all.

And this is why we have to require permits to use the word. Y'all don't know how to use it right.

I do my best to not go into that particular forum, and you're right, Siberian. It IS a MAJOR hodge-podge of hypocrisy in there, as well as a few other forums also.

Before I start, let me clarify. I'm pure Yankee, but I got kit and kin (whatever a kit is, I'm sure I have them too) living in Virginia and Mississippi. And, I did live in Virginia for a year once, so got to ask. If it's now used in TN, doesn't that mean it's a VA word, considerin' TN used to be VA?

And, to be clear, when I lived in VA and my cousins were beating me in an argument, fair and square, I always had the line that would infuriate them and get them riled up -- "Oh yeah? But we won the War!"

And directly after starting something like this, I'll do to you what I did to them to avoid further arguing.
