First we need to understand that not all people who are obese is do to gluttony !!!
Stop right there. I specifically stated gluttony. Didn't I?

Second what does the bible say about those who put their trust on earthly things, as in put things before God ??? It says those who do such things do not have the truth abiding in them.
The good news is that by faith in Jesus and through the guidance and help of the Holy Spirits, and those who are mature in the faith can lead these people out of their sinful behaviors.
The other thing we must take into effect is if they repented or not before they died !!!
The bible is very clear even in the NT of those who will and those who will not inherit eternal life, as Paul for one gives lists for both. We can not turn and say that certain people are saved when the bible clearly says who is not !!!
It amazes me how even common sense gets thrown out the door...............look close(not even close, just take off the "Glasses") He was addressing those that were PROUD and ALLOWING this. The NLT really brings this out.
1I can hardly believe the report about the sexual immorality going on among you—something that even pagans don’t do. I am told that a man in your church is living in sin with his stepmother.[SUP]a[/SUP]2You are so proud of yourselves, but you should be mourning in sorrow and shame. And you should remove this man from your fellowship.
He was not addressing those who were "mourning in sorrow and shame" He was addressing the fact that NO ONE was mourning over this disruption in the assembly.
Who gets the credit in the salvation of a man? You WILL answer Jesus Christ.
Who fails if a man loses His Salvation? You WILL answer the man.
Can you see this very simple illustration of your false doctrine?
Which version are you using as that will explain a lot, as the first verse says, "not even named among the Gentiles."
It does not say pagans, that is a bad translation that was done in the NIV, NLT, and EST...........
It was being allowed to continue but the one's that was ousted/shunned was not the one's allowing it to happen, it was the one/s who was doing the sinful act. 1 Corinthians 5:11 clearly shows this, "do not keep company with anyone named a brother who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or an extortioner-not even to eat with such a person."
It is the one's doing continuing to do the sinful acts that are to be shunned !!!

Would you like to go over the original language and examine the particulars in this verse?
And I answered your question, but the thing I came back on you is how can you personal tell if a overweight person who goes to the same church as you is do to gluttony or do to a medical disorder ???
That is why I mentioned that is because we have to be careful before just labeling a person one way or the other !!!
It is not a false doctrine my brother !!!
Just because you may reject or twist the many multiple scriptures that speak on falling away, departing from, and not continuing in the faith to say something other than what they clearly say. I will not reject them nor will I go against the guidance of the Holy Spirit who has lead me to the original Greek as well to understand in more detail what is being said.
Apostle James mentions condemnation (James 5:12) and saving a soul from death (James 5:19-20) in his epistle about those who fall away from the truth. The saving the soul is only in regards to if they RETURN to the Lord.
I put return in capital letters because there is a bad habit of saying these people who fall away were never in Christ to begin with. Well this scripture clearly shows they were before they fell, as one can not return to something they were never in unless they were in that place before.
Apostle Paul also a number of times speaks on apostasy, and those in apostate teaching are not saved.
Apostasy in its original meaning means one who was once in the truth, but is now gone astray walking and teaching false doctrine !!!
I already have and 1 Corinthians 5:11 is very clear who the one/s that are to be shunned are, and it clearly shows those who are continuing to do those sinful actions !!!
Ken, you should know by now that I agree that believers can and do fall away, go astray, fall from grace, go apostate. And 90% of the time in the Bible it is describing believers like you. 10% of the time it is describing carnal believers.
Your religion or self righteousness is what the Word teaches 90% of the time. It is our own self righteousness that is the most dangerous for believers. Most believers get their lives cleaned up and live moral. And most believers go down the road of morality as the Christian way of life, not sinning because Grace gives us "freedom."
I personally believe you are saved, but you have fallen from grace, gone apostate, fallen from THE faith.
The truth and true faith is Christ alone saved us.
RETURN..............your saved, but your the older son in the prodigal story.
You have Christ +___________________ at this point in your walk.
This does not surprise me.
I do not teach self-righteousness and I have not fallen from grace, and I would appreciate it if you would take your judgmental attitude else where or ignore me from now on.
There is no such thing taught in the bible of being saved and fallen from grace at the same time !!!
Nor do I teach anything that matches any of the passages describing apostate teaching, as I refute that teaching on here all the time which is why I preach against Calvinism.
John Calvin who coined the term OSAS went apostate when he formed this doctrine during the Protestant reformation movement. He derived it from Augustine's apostate lies from the 4th century !!!
eg - For a man who claims not to be living by rules you already are setting rules, saying what we are talking about, calling me a liar ( do not know what for ). You mentioned you were crucified. By what and whom?
Dude the context is the gospel.
Stick to the gospel. Or continue to be a liar.
We are not talking about what a child of God will do, we are talking about how one gets to heaven.
So unless you think they are one and the same (proving your a legalistic gospel teacher) then stick the topic,
I might be seeing this wrong but.... I am not called to live a particular way.
I am called to know who I am in Christ.
If I try to live in my strength, a particular way?...That again is self efforts that will fail. Or also known as self righteous works.
I am called to know who I am in Christ and he will live his life through me.

“But if Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, the spirit is life because of righteousness.”—Romans 8:10
“Because the God who said, Out of darkness light shall shine, is the One who shined in our hearts to illuminate the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power may be of God and not out of us.”—2 Corinthians 4:6-7
“I am crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me.”—Galatians 2:20
“That Christ may make His home in your hearts through faith.”—Ephesians 3:17
“Christ in you, the hope of glory.”—Colossians 1:27
“When He comes to be glorified in His saints and to be marveled at in all those who have believed.”—2 Thessalonians 1:10
So you believe in salvation through faith alone. Glad to know that.
I believe what Ephesians 2:8-9 says that we are saved by grace "through faith in Christ".
I also believe in what the Lord Jesus Himself defined what believing in Him means in the faith from Luke 6:46-49 and John 3:16-21. Those who come to Him, hear what He says, and does it !!!
