Was invited to a Halloween party on the 31st. Two weeks from now.

Apparently this guy noticed that I was gone in classes and asked my friend where I was. I missed about three days because of my fall. We have two classes the same since we are majoring in the same thing. When I got back he was really friendly. Then today he told me his friend (who is also in classes with us) is throwing a Halloween party and if I wanted to go, I could. I got an invitation. It's apparently a somewhat formal party downtown at a hotel. It sounds like fun but...

I don't know if I should go. I'm not really sure about Halloween. What do you all think?

Also, if we get raptured out before its time to pay taxes. That would be great :p

If you get raptured out, taxes won't matter anymore in the first place, Donk =P.

Admittedly, though, I'm just as happy as anyone to potentially avoid the bother, in spite of my math-appreciating brain =P.

Molly, maybe ask the guy a few questions about the party first. Also, pray about it :D! I'll also ask Jesus to show you if it'd be good to go or not :).

BTW, do you like this guy? If I'm reading it right, he just asked you out on a date :).

Thank you for your prayers. I appreciate them very much :)
I'm afraid that there might be alcohol and honestly dancing. I don't know how to dance with someone else...I've never done it before haha!
He's definitely attractive and smart  but I would need to get to know him more. He did say he was a believer but I don't know how strong he is when it comes to his spiritual walk. That's important to me. :)
You think he was asking me out? I don't think so because he said I could take my friend with me, who is also a girl and is in class with us. If it were a date, wouldn't he be picking me up?

You're welcome for the prayers, Molly :).

Hmm, re-reading it I'm not sure ... So, you actually received a paper invitation from the person who was throwing the party? And they mentioned that you could bring a girl friend? Sounds like not a date, then, but I'm not sure I gathered all the details.

I know what you mean about the alcohol; it's not that you'd have to drink some, but people can act really stupid sometimes after drinking too much, and you potentially wouldn't be as safe in that scenario. Maybe still good to request more details; possibly ask about chaperons, but I'd definitely recommend praying about what to do :).

I second this Molly, and I'll pray for you too. He may or may not be asking you out. Either way he's showing interest in spending time with you. God knows about our every event, I'm pretty sure He knows what lies ahead :) sisterly advice, yes have someone with you if you go.

*oh and is he cute? ;)

Yes, I received an invitation and it has ugly skulls on it. It's like a scroll with spider webs. It's creative but scary lol! He said we need the invitation to go inside. He gave me an invitation and said I could bring a friend, then he mentioned my friend by name. So yeah... Haha maybe he's interested in my friend. Little does he know that she's taken.
I don't think it's a date, but I get the feeling he does want to get to know me. Earlier this week he told me that I seemed really sweet and ladylike and that he liked that. But of course I didn't think he was flirting with me. I thought he was just being nice. It's hard to distinguish the two.
We are half way through the semester and he hadn't really talked this much to me before.

Hehe, it sounds like he'd been watching you, and decided that he DOES like you, and most certainly wants to get to know you better, Molly :D! Seriously, it's hard to imagine him saying all that if he wasn't fairly interested, though, admittedly, some people are just really heavy on compliments, so I should possibly be more hesitant to say what I have.

So, to clarify, the guy who gave you the verbal invite and compliments is also the one throwing the party, AND the one who handed you the paper invitation, saying it was needed in order to be welcomed into the festivities?

No, the guy who is throwing the party is part of the group that has a couple of classes with us since we are all business math majors. His friend is the one that has been talking to me one on one lately and he told me that he got an invitation from his friend (the one throwing the party) to give to me. He told me his friend was cool with it. So it's not even his party but he seems very polite and respectful. I just don't know him very well so if I go, I will definitely go with my friend.

These two guys are very good friends that have know each other since high school. The guy of the party is throwing it at the hotel where his dad works.

Molly you will never learn to dance unless you have an opportunity to try. I think you should go. Bring a girlfriend with you to make you feel more comfortable and you can always leave early if the party gets too wild as it goes on.

I just joined the worship hospitality team, I have zero musical abilities but want to be a groupie I guess and serve the talented folks in my church who are amazing. I need to brink breakfast and snacks for Sunday so our team can nosh all morning as they arrive at 7 and don't leave till 1pm. I love to cook and bake but the problem is one of the members is gluten free ...not just PC gluten free but is diagnosed with Celiac disease. I have never cooked GF so am trying to prepare. I have two weeks but if anyone has a favorite GF recipe or dish let me know.

I'm sure Molly can do it, but I can't. I tried ballroom dancing a couple of times and didn't do well. Whoever invented the idea that the guy should lead is an idiot. I struggle even to get barn-dancing right.

I now know every word to every song from Frozen...against my will. WHY KIDS?! Tiny little terrorists.

...it would be less bad if I could stop singing the songs at random and off key.

Tintin...you just need to practice with a woman you feel comfortable with. If we lived close I would show you that there are a couple ballroom dances that take such little timing and coordination that everyone can do it. You would be surprised that we would be box stepping and waltzing within 2 weeks. Your self proclaimed elusive confidence would substantially increase also !! We are not talking tango or salsa ...just a box step. If you can walk I have no doubt you can box step. I have faith in you!

now go grab that woman who is your closest friend and ask her to teach you the box step!!

I hear you! I still know almost all the early VeggieTales songs by heart!

"He said to her, 'I'd like a cheeseburger, and I might like a milkshake as well...'" at the top of our lungs as we drove down the highway.
