Actually the bible does make this sin a special class of sin... making it evidence of one who has a reprobate mind and at the extreme of mans sin and rebellion against God.

As with any mind altering substance, the vibration will change and some rather drastically. Yes, I did mushrooms, but the result was death, literally, figuratively, and just about every other way. And that was 35 years ago. I guess it takes a long time for it to leave. And the vibrations from other people on other things, like meth and cocaine, do just about the same thing when their mind becomes attached to yours. It is hard to shake them off and it is not good when you have to sever the relationship in ways that are not beneficial.
As is written in the Bible something like 'sin lingers.' I think it says 'sin longers.'

Could you please show me the passage where it says this? I don't remember the Bible saying anything about this.
 
Well, it is not good for the psyche of young people to see figures that make pleasing noises like some of the female singers and looking at them strip onstage or have wardrobe malfunctions. That just aggravates an already tense situation.

Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

So, if you make that choice, God will give that choice to you and let what happens happen. It could be some disease, but you know how society feels about that . You will be ostracized and possibly cast out.

I was just looking at this passage myself. Thanks for posting this. I still don't see how homosexuality is a worse sin, in the sense that any sin leads to death and any sin can be forgiven if someone genuinely seeks forgiveness.
 
Read the passage carefully.

Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, . . .

This is talking about those men or women who do not 'retain God in their knowledge' and continue with what they are doing. That is the whole matter. They had no desire to serve any God and they were averse to any perceived reprimand or any knowledge of reprimand by their Creator.

There is a sin unto death, but we do not know what that is. And that sin is not since it can lead to a repentance, but to society it must show the fruits of repentance, i.e. the homosexual must turn the behavior around and show the fruit. Like Jesus said to the Pharisees. He wanted to see the fruit of repentance.

Read the passage..and it explains to you how this sin is an example of those God says has a reprobate mind... This sin being the evidence of this condition. Not to mention that this sin is the condition for which Sodom was destroyed... of course the scriptures make this sin above other sins in that its an example of mans complete rebellion against God and His order.

I understand that God has given certain people over to sin and that those people do not want to accept God. I am speaking outside of Romans 1 about the homosexual people who have been engulfed in that lifestyle for whatever reason but can still be saved. If a homosexual person were to ask God for forgiveness and work to change their behavior and mindset, God will forgive him or her. That is all I am stating.

I know what Romans 1 says but there are circumstances where people have become homosexual because of past abuse, societal pressure/expectations, etc. I believe these people can be saved from their sinful lifestyles through God's grace. I also think it is possible for just about anyone to come to God but I do realize that some people never will.

No one is doubting Gods Mercy for those that seek it..but the facts are that God points this sin out in a way that makes clear that it is a sin above other sins...

I completely agree with everything except the last statement. God gave them over to a reprobate mind but their punishment is still death, as with other sins that have not been repented. There are no tiers in hell for sins that are "above others" as you put it.
 
Thank you Tommy2. You are absolutely right! None of us is worthy...and that is what's so good about God. He doesn't reach out to us because we are worthy...because not one of is is...He reaches out out of his love for us. Thank you for your kind and encouraging words. I told my son exactly that....to "come as you are". He can't try to fix himself first, because it will never happen...and God Himself knows that. Even Jacob himself wrestled with God, and God won. May I trust that he will win my son's heart as well.
 
thanks for the prayer? I was not talking about our "divine" nature as you are speaking of...nor was I "justifying" in. I realize our sinful nature is a fleshly one and not a divine one. Prior, I simply stated that my son did not choose to have this attraction or temptation or whatever you want to call it....but he has it regardless, and as long as he doesn't know or receive Jesus, this will have no chance of going away on its own. Also, for the record, when I say I ACCEPT my son, i did not mean that I approve of any homosexual behavior. I mean that I will never disown him, or reject him as a person. I love him unconditionally, just as the Lord loves us. I will love him, I will do my best to guide him, and I will pray while placing him at the foot of our Savior and trusting Him to do what I cannot...because that's all that I can really do.
 
I understand completely what you are saying Tommy.You are acknowledging an ongoing struggle you have despite trying to do all the right things to make it go away. I commend you for your honesty and sincerity. Just because the struggle is repeated does not mean you are "entertaining" the thoughts....and I can tell you, satan might flee quick, but he always comes back, lol....especially when he knows its with something that truly bothers you. It's not so easy for us to not be bothered by something that disturbs us to the very core of our souls...and those of us on the outside of this struggle could never know or understand just how much you are impacted by it. I do want to encourage you though. What helps me get through on-going struggles of any kind is continually drawing closer to God...getting to know Him more and more...having a living breathing relationship with Him..one where I can not only talk to Him, but He can also talk to me, through His Word and by His Spirit. That's how close you want to be...and each time you drift, that's how close you want to run back. Once He becomes the core of your life, you find that you don't even think of those struggles or fears much...because there's no room for them in comparison to Him and His love...and as soon as you are distracted...even by something different altogether....that's when those struggles come creeping on back again....and many times you don't even realize it at first. The answer? Draw near to Him, and He'll draw near to you. Always. Over and Over. Love you, child of God, and I'm praying for you. :)

Satan will be patient however...and wait to see when you weaken your resolve to stay in Christ, and as we have issues in life that test our resolve, if we weaken and look to other things to answer lifes issues Satan will come swarming in to suggest reasons to continue distrusting God. Then he can pop a quick temptation in there and poof Satan is back in control if we fail to get by that temptation. Now God has offered us a way around that return to death by way of forgiveness of confessed sin, but that's Satan's ongoing campaign. And Scripture tells us how wide the road to distraction is and how many will travel it. He seems to have an effective system working, except for those who see the light and stay in the light these Satan has no power over!

I think God loves everyone to me that means every man woman child baby but some people have so much hate in their hearts to them that makes them hate people who are gay and I feel why a person can't love who they want to love no matter whether that means man with another man
 
I feel being gay is not a choice but it is something that a person feels within their self once they being to grow form a baby to a child to an teenager to a adult.
