Hi student. I heard fasting can help those who want to quit smoking. Just drink water with drops of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. But if you are diabetic forget about fasting. Praying and fasting works. Be strong. Praying that by God's abundant grace you will win your battle once and for all.

I recommend niccotene patches. They helped me when I quit about 15 yrs ago. I smoked 2 packs a day. Its not easy but if you are determined enough you can do it. And you will be saving yourself at least around $200 a month.

Stay strong student. Believe it or not, it gets easier as time goes by. If someone had told me I would be cigarette free 6 months ago I would have said no way. I left The Lord 32 years ago, lived in the world and came back not long ago. Quit cigarettes, booze and weed March 30 this year. Except for a few weak spells with the cigarettes, today by the grace of God I am alcohol, nicotine and THC free!!! Keep the faith sister...Phil. 4:13. God bless.

I quit for 2 years. I started again about 3 years ago. On again, off again, on again... I want this to be permanently off. I'm exercising some, eating better...some. I'm getting older. Got to make changes...positive. Thanks for the blessings!

One of the toughest times, I committed this 'quit' to God and have had all His support. It is an honor to say I'm still going strong! Praise the Lord!

Keep it up. There are still moments when desiring a cigarette enters my thoughts, but it passes. So grateful to God and thank Him for the daily victories He gives me. You can do it...God would rather take in your prayers and trust in Him than a smelly cigarette :)

In life, there's always a choice to do between this and this.

1 Corinthians 10:24

Some of you say,
“We can do whatever we want to!”
But I tell you that not everything
may be good or helpful.

Galatians 5:16

If you are guided by the Spirit,
you won’t obey your selfish desires.

I'm on day 21. Yesterday, I was digging through things in my closet and came across the cigarette roller. My flesh wants to keep it. My spirit demands that it go... Needless to say, it's going. Until this moment, I was going to sell it. I'm not sure now. It cost a lot, but to put that on someone and make it cheaper to destroy themselves, that's just not right.

There is one thing though, if we are in the will of God...once we have broken the yolk...even with cancer, if that's the case, God will NOT take us until we have finished the work he set out for us to do. I pray you find peace in that assurance, Bami. Love -student

It is truly admirable to quit smoking and if you rely heavily on God and not yourself then there is literally nothing you cannot do. It actually is much easier to wean yourself than quitting cold turkey but cold turkey is much faster. If you intend to do it cold turkey then whenever that urge arises call out to God ask him to help you to give you his strength

Praying for you Bami. And an 'atta girl' for you student. It really does get easier with each passing day. My chest x-rays from March this year and September several weeks ago are amazingly different. In my case the damage is done, but they sure look better! Not to mention my sense of smell is better, food tastes better and my clothes and truck do not smell like an ashtray. Keep calling on God sisters...He CAN AND WILL bring you through. God bless.

Thanks 49. I'm chewing nicotine gum. The package says 8 weeks is ok. God says quit that a bit sooner. I'm nervous about that, but I'll listen to the Lord. I know He knows best. Please pray for this. I have a bit of anxiety.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; [SUP]7 [/SUP]and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Phillippians 4:6-7

On Sunday, I put the Cigarette Rolling Machine in the dumpster. While that was slightly hard...I'm so thankful for the guidance of the HOly Spirit and my clean conscience...no one is smoking more today because I enabled them. Praise the Lord. My finances are never great, so it would have helped, but eternally, that's a drop in the bucket compared to a life...compared to a soul. Thanks for all of your support. I'm free...at last...from this curse. A few more battles to win...with Jesus at my side. Love -student

Way to go student. Knew you could do it. The worse is over...just stick to your guns and don't give in to the urges. It really does get easier with time (and Jesus at your side as you said)!
