Back when I loved in the suburbs, or particularly way out in the middle of nothing but a subdivision, I could learn what happened nearby. Now that I live in a city, I can't.
Last night, at 3 AM there was a BOOM! We live a block from a park where people set off store-bought (and illegal, at least in this city, but not in the surrounding states) fireworks. They're loud. We're a mile from the sports complexes, so we can hear the fireworks, cannons, or loud concerts from there too. But last night's BOOM was bigger than either of those sounds. It was loud enough that I jumped. It was loud enough it woke up hubby. (And he has Chronic Fatigue, so it's hard to wake him up usually.)
Nothing. I looked online to find out what that was today and nothing.
Had I been living in the suburbs or the deep stick still that would be the main story even if it was just some kids setting off little firecrackers. Nothing!
I want to know what that sound was and I'll never learn. Arrggghhh! And yet -- LOL kitty videos make our news.
