I'm a 17yo guy and have an intense urge to make a family 0_o

i really want a family to love and love me. i know i can wait but im really looking forward to t moving out and meeting the right one for me. i dont think your weird
 
I had an intense urge to get a puppy - I ended up with two pups - brothers.....

Now 14 months later, I have an intense urge to never deal with dog poop, barking, and holes in my leather couch.....

It is never as easy as you think......and it is always rewarding in a way you cannot imagine. The urge that you are feeling is not going to be addressed by having a family so young. Sorry.

Did I make a dent?

Yeah I agree with this post. Whether we know it or not, most of the time when we have an intense urge for *insert thing here* it is a novelty feeling. We have to take the feeling, break it open and really find out what it's about. More than that, you've got to pray for direction from God :D. Basically, have a look at why you're feeling this way and be responsible about the decisions you make in the end. :)

you have a point

i decided i wanted a kitten
i was told i wasnt suitable because once the kitten had grown into a cat i would get bored and want a kitten again
they were right
i can hardly wait to dump this one
and start over with the toilet training and vets bills again:D
 
Guys, I know what you guys are talking about 'cause I've had the feeling for things before, too... but this really is different. I know the consequences and everything, but a small part of me still wants it anyway =P And you didn't HAVE to make a dent, like I stated before, it's definitely NOT happening... But it still doesn't keep me from wanting it =( lol

And I'm sure the feeling WOULD be addressed having a family so young, just not in the way I'd like it to be =P I'm def waiting 'till I'm at least like 21/22 though (already have a year of college creds and MAY speed through my last 3 years of college in 2 years' time... Then gotta wait for ma girl to be at least out of HS lol).

I know I may come across as seeing it in this "glorious light," but I really don't. I see what marriages are, and fortunately, I've grown up around GOOD marriages and know what they're SUPPOSED to be... And while I know there are always rough patches, it'd still be nice overall I think =) And just as another disclaimer- I am talking about the FAIRLY DISTANT FUTURE, not anytime in the next coupla years XD
 
Absolutely nothing wrong with it. :) I commend you for opening yourself up for the scrutiny of others.

Mistakes? What do you mean? All children born are not mistakes. Even if they were from rapes, incest, or whatever. God never makes mistakes.
 
I can't wait to get married and have kids either!!! haha But I have to be careful...recently I've stumbled on guys with the same desires and urges and things can get out of hand too quickly... So yeah...I guess we just have to be patient. It's tough, but it'll come soon enough. :D
 
Nope its totally fine..I assistant lead once a month on Sunday mornings for church with the toddlers
and I love those babies to death, and after doing it for 3 months the experience really made me think about
how much I want a family esp a child. Thats seirously my soft spot, children. Its indescribable.
 
i have 3 friend that are fatehrs at age of 16 15 all 3 have baby boys

I agree I cant HARDLY wait to get married and have at least a dozen kids maybe more..... but i wanna do college first and because I am #6 outta 10 kids I know families are oober expensive .I know it is a calling from god to me so his will be done and make me very fruitful......
 
I want to have so many descendents that a nation gets named after me, like in the bible.

Yes, I'm aware that many guys, especially ones my age, will have the urge to have sex. That's not what I'm talking about here. I think this is most common in girls, and it may be weird since I'm a guy, but I really just want to get married and have a family, even though it's def not happening for at least a few more years.

I'm not even sure what I'm asking for here XD I don't really need advice or anything, I just want to know if this is odd or not in a teenage guy. And if it is, is it weird in a good way or bad way? =P

I had it too. I still have it. But I guess I'm not quite ready for anything like that.
 
I honestly think you need a reality check buddy. Have you ever had to watch a baby for more than a few hours? Maybe a week? You have no idea what you want to get yourself into. Not to mention that you will not be able to afford it unless parents are financially involved. I have a 10 month old girl. I get to wake up at around 5:30 am everyday. That includes weekends and holidays. Just a quick list of expenses.

Daycare (because you will have to work,or go to school) normally about 140 a WEEK!! not a month, a week.
Diapers cost about 15$ for a pack of 60. You will go through these very early with a newborn.
Baby Formula/Food is about 24$ for a can of it, it may last about a week.
Plus all the required items like car seat, crib, toys, cloths etc..

Plus the fact that you will be tied down for the next 18 years and you do not get much time to yourself. You will not be able to see the world and experience life. Seriously, just watch a new born for a few days if you can. You will change you mind pretty quick.

Not to mention that you will also have a wife, which can be fun, but also takes away from that personal time.
 
All of you kids need to realize that playing with kids all day, and being responsible for their livelyhood are very different things. You are nothing but kids, take some time to grow up yourself and experience the world. There is so much to see and do other than be tied down with the responsibilities of parenthood.
