Yesterday I posted a blog that said this:

If a Christian tells you they will pray/have been praying for you, don't just shrug it off with a "whatever" mentality. Prayer is a very beautiful, powerful thing. Embedded within the very core of prayer is love; if someone is taking the time to pray for you, they genuinely care about you ;)

I also posted this on Facebook. My sister, who is not a Christian, had this to say in response:

If a Buddhist said they were praying for you, would you feel loved or would you feel annoyed thay they are praying to a god you dont believe in.

How would y'all respond to that?

Honestly, I wouldn't feel annoyed; because I would trust that though I don't agree with their God it's the gesture of good-will that I would find pleasing! Prayers to God are wonderous and I have experienced a multitude of testimonies that it works! To some non-believers it brings comfort; to some it brings annoyance...I personally still pray in faith because I am dedicated to Jesus; this is what He wanted :)

Completely relate; my brother is also not Christian (actually my whole family) it sometimes creates a disconnect; and they don't like me talking about God so I'm respectful. Still I pray for them!! BECAUSE my love for them is so great!! <3

Lovely topic! Thank-you & many blessings! XooXoo

I'd say "And I'm praying for you" ... and then "and my God actually exists :P"!! Just kidding lol ... I'd definitely say "thanks", and "I'm praying for you too". I think I'd approach it through trying to connect with the person relationally, because that's my most effective way of communication.

Sometimes through challenging others within a scriptural context, unknowingly (thinking were doing the right thing) were actually pushing them further away from the kingdom of God. Even without trying to apply this through in the context of the cultural ramifications, we can come across as judgemental and critical. Our stance should portrait acceptance and love. Jesus accepted the sinner before saying "Go and sin no more". Just as well lol or I'd personally be screwed :D!!

I want to be a Christian of non-conformity to legalism!!! Because its even more conforming to the world than loving a Buddhist or anybody else :)

If a Buddhist told me he was praying for me. I would take it as a compliment and possibly him showing love.

I wouldn't put any faith in it, but it's a nice gesture. Just a lost person showing love as they understand it.

Some people will tell you that it is bad for him to pray for you. His JuJu, or whatever, might stick to you. Can't happen. Nothing of this world can stick to Jesus.

Also, I am praying for you. Just might open a chance to witness. We never know where the Holy Spirit will lead us.

I'd say that was one very confused "Buddhist"....since Buddhists don't pray to a god.

unless you sister is a Buddhist it is clearly intended to be a trick question anyway, so she probably has a comeback reply ready :p

I would think they cared about me enough to
think of me while they were doing their devotions :)

I'd feel they cared though misguided and was in need of prayer themselves for salvation.

They may be devoteD, but they don't do devotions.. Devotions are usually a book of daily inspirational stories.
Buddhist Devotion is an important part of the practice of most Buddhists. According to a spokesman of the Sasana Council of Burma, devotion to Buddhist spiritual practices inspires devotion to the Triple Gem. Most Buddhists use ritual in pursuit of their spiritual aspirations. From Wiki... and as I see it, any person I have ever known who identifies as a Buddhist has been quite devoted to their spiritual path. I see them as seekers. They have their gurus and their practices and prayers and meditations and devotions, all geared to helping them find a better way of life, which is a form of path straightening... a making way for the Lord to more fully reveal Himself to them. They are cultivating fertile ground.

My response to her was " Buddhists don't pray to a god. They chant and meditate, but they don't pray to a god."
This is really scary for me, guys. I don't do conflict, or debate. Especially not with family.

What you do is first declare ,to yourself ,who you are,and that no fear is tolerated by God ,and therefore it is neither tolerated by you.

Now,remember what satan does. All he needs is that little seed of doubt. Remember always what he said to eve.

So,what we do is "put one over on slewfoot"

Flip it.

Like this "Father you see this whole thing. Now,in Jesus' name let every prayer prayed for me,by any unclean motive or source,be a point of contact for heaven.....and they the hounds of heaven pursue them, arrest them for your kingdom, and let them be your trophies. let all who mention me to their demon gods, have my God to deal with.

For in the word of God,it is written "though they meant it for evil,God turned it around for good..."

And also "an undeserved curse shall not find fest"

Wow,now that is something friend
