When God looks at us, does He see our sin? I understand that God no longer remembers our sin at the moment of salvation. What happens after that? What happens if we sin as Christians and do not ask for forgiveness? Is that considered unforgiven or forgiven sin? If everyone is a sinner, are we still sinners when we become saved?

Yes; because He knows best our potential and purpose.

Not sure what you mean 'God does not remember...!? God remembers everything and everyone.

What happens; also I don't really know what you mean, lol! If you mean being baptized, you have dedicated yourself that you're on team God!

Good question...if you don't ask forgiveness; I'm sure if it's an unresolved sin, the guilt will pester you until you repent or stop the afflicting sin. Sometimes you don't even recognize you are sinning until your Holy Spirit guides you.

Yes, still a sinner. We are all imperfect. The only sinless person was Jesus to walk this earth, God reincarnate. We will be on a journey during our life-times, always growing and changing...read Romans 12:2-3.

Many blessings Xoo

When you are abiding in Christ, God only sees the righteousness of Christ covering you. His righteousness is freely given to us through his sacrifice on the cross. That is the wonder of grace.

Read Colossians. We have been reconciled in Christ's body so that He can present you to God holy, blameless, free of imperfection as long as you stay planted in your faith. In Him you were circumcised - set apart by a spiritual act - cut off from the sinfulness of your flesh. Your sin past, present and future was taken by Christ to the cross and God sees them on His son.

We have the Holy Spirit within us inspiring us to live that righteousness out in our daily life. Because He wants Christ to be seen in us and through us. We need to unblock His love to others. We do have that power and it grieves the Holy Spirit when we do not. All the things we are told to do in the scriptures are not to gain any righteousness of our own or our salvation. It is to allow Christ to be glorified in all we do. And by doing so, we gain great peace in our spirit.

That is what is meant by giving yourself to Christ.

Also read the book of Romans -

We may assume He could remember if He wanted to, but when we are clothed in the righteousness of Christ, He sees the righteousness of Christ and not our sinful selves.

"For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."

Hi WhiteStone,

We are covered sinners. The scripture says that "Christ died for us while we were [Yet] sinners. Through Christ, God sees us as perfect even though we are not. After we receive Christ, we are being sanctified, which is the on-going process of being made holy as we go from faith to faith. And when we sin, if we confess our sins, then he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness. If we wander away, falling back and are willfully living according to the sinful nature, then see James 5:19.

Hope this helps

But now he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself heb9:26

For by one sacrifice he made PERFECT FOREVER those who are BEING made holy heb10:14

Well, the bible does say that His mercies are new every day. He does know when we sin and He does know when we get off track. Otherwise there wouldn't be any reason for chastisement.

His word shows us what this means.

1 Corinthians 15:27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.

Ephesians 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Psalms 8:5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
Psalms 8:6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

Psalms 8 ties directly with Hebrews 2.

Hebrews 2:2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
Hebrews 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
Hebrews 2:4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
Hebrews 2:5 For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.
Hebrews 2:6 But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest him?
Hebrews 2:7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:
Hebrews 2:8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
Hebrews 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

The next chapter goes even further into this.

Hebrews 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
Hebrews 3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
Hebrews 3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
Hebrews 3:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
Hebrews 3:10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

Hebrews 3:11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.
Hebrews 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
Hebrews 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

God saw our sin and He placed it all on His Son 2000 years ago. In Christ we have forgiveness; Acts 10:43, Col. 1:14, Col. 2:13, Eph. 1:7, 1 John 2:12.

In Christ we have a new identity, not of sinner, but that of a “saint”; Rom. 1:7 Rom. 8:27.

People will not act consistently in ways that are contrary to what they believe about themselves.
This is a foundational issue in life because it’s an identity issue. The bottom line is that—over the long haul—you’ll act like who you think you are. Your self-assessment will affect what you expect.

If we believe we are fundamentally a sinner, your default setting will be to act like a sinner. To behave in any other way would be to act inconsistently with the person you perceive yourself to be.

Truth is not determined by our feelings, the opinions of others, or our behavior. It’s determined by who God says we are!
"I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me (Galatians 2:20)."

The New Testament calls us a saint 63 times. Saint means “holy one,” the result of God’s work.

"Paul…to the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling (1 Corinthians 1:1-2)."

"By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all (Hebrews 10:10)."

Calling us “sanctified” or “saints” is not a reference to our behavior, but to our identity.

Such a wonderful revelation that it will forever change the life of all who receive it. How can we receive all of what Christ offers if we continually confess that we have not received it?

Where sin abounds...grace did much more abound...if we confess, he is faithul and just to forgive us of our sin....if we say that we have no sin..we are deceived and the truth is not in us..
