That's great but you make God sound like just a buddy of yours that solves your problems. You don't make him sound like the King he is, and people won't be God fearing. I fear the Lord because He can do some great things for me, or He can punish me just the same. This is what I meant earlier by, "He's a King, not a buddy".

That's exactly what I thought. God doesn't need our forgiveness! It's the other way around. But you'd be surprised... there are many many many Christians who take that very stance. They're glad they reconciled with God. They're glad they've come to terms with God. As if He needs to do any of that. I didn't believe it either.

Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you so you can live the life that is required to make it to heaven.
The Bible says that some have a form of godliness but they deny the power thereof,and in the same chapter they are lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.
They claim to be with God but they deny the Spirit leading them because they still want to hang unto some things of the flesh which causes them to be lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.
Do not fall in to that but allow the Spirit to lead.
The 10 virgins,5 had the Spirit,5 did not have the Spirit.They all claimed to be with Jesus but 5 did not have the Spirit and did not make it to heaven.A lot of people claim to be with Christ but not all have the Spirit to cause them to act like Christ and that is why Jesus said not all that call Him Lord will make it to heaven and they shall have their portion with the hypocrites there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Only by the Spirit can we be like Christ and the Bible says that if you are led of the flesh you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh and if you are born of God you cannot sin contrary to what some people believe that we cannot live a sinless life but God says otherwise that you can be sinless by the Spirit.
We can sin like fornication and get back in the Spirit by true repentance but we had better make sure we are in the Spirit when Christ comes but we should be in the Spirit all the time.
I say this because it is important because if you claim to be with Christ having received the truth and do not make it to heaven it will be worse for you than people who rejected Christ not believing.
47And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more(Luke 12:47-48).
26For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries(Hebrews 10:26-27).
That shows you cannot live in sin after you are converted or you will not make it to heaven which I believe that not everyone that comes to Christ truly repented of their sins and are not truly converted but believes the tradition of men that they are alright even if they sin.

In my opinion this is a incomplete thought. It is said in the book of Proverbs, I can't find the acctual verse but you have probably read it, a father will punish a son that wrongly acts. God will do the same thing. God will not just punish just our enemies like we have some big brother that will beat up the bullies on the play ground. The same will happen to us. Because when we go away from God, when we get wrapped up on ourselves He will punish us so we come back and realize the error of our way. That's when He punishs our enemies because He will look at it like this; when you attack the child you attacked the father. I do fear the Marines beside me because even though we are on the same side they can, and have, punished me for things I have done. Knowing that, that is what keeps me in line, that's what we need to realize God will do. I understand what God is to, that is what He is. Although, when you were mentiong what He is to you, being your Lord was low on the list. I ask you why. Why was that not the first thing? Let me give you an anology. A corporal is my leader, he can be my friend, but he is my leader first. That is what I'm trying to get across. He is a friend, He is a great thing but He is my King first.
Now, this isn't an attack against you. I've noticed this across the board when it comes to Christianity. You were just at the, how to put this, wrong place at the wrong time.

This mindset of God being "friend first and Lord second" makes me think of all those silly parents who say ignorant things like "I want my children to be my friend." When a parent says that, I want to grab their shoulders, give them a good shake, and say, "You're a parent for cripes sake! Grow up and stop trying to be your child's friend! Be their parent first, because they need you as a parent more than they need you as a friend! When they get older, then they can be your friend, but right now as they are growing up be a parent."
Likewise, you need to realize you are nothing but a child to God. He is your parent, your Lord, your liege, your King. Before He can ever be your friend, He must first be an authority figure to you. Once you are grown up enough and mature enough in Christ, then you can start worrying about being God's friend. And maybe you are grown up and mature enough to consider Him a friend. In that case, good for you.
For others who are not there yet, you cannot tell them to be friends with God. They NEED God to be their father. They NEED God to be their King. They need discipline, someone to guide them, train them up in the way they should go, be there to give them advice and comfort. What good is a God who is nothing more than a friend to me? Friends can only get people so far in life. It is a King, a Parent, that can really shape a person's life.
Frankly, I much prefer God as my Lord and father than as my friend. I know He can be both, but if it came down to choosing, I'd chose the one with more authority and power.

I'm not quite sure what word I got hung up on, or what point you were trying to make that I missed. In any case, it would have taken pages for me to respond to everything you said. Just because I only expounded on one point does not mean I ignored everything else. You simply were not privy to all that was going on inside my head.
