Why would God want ME?
Author Unknown

I'm not perfect. I have all kinds of problems. I have no ability. I have no gifts. I'm just not worthy. Why would God want me?

Well, did you know that

Moses stuttered.
David's armor didn't fit.
John Mark deserted Paul.
Timothy had ulcers.
Hosea's wife was a prostitute.
Amos' only training was in the school of fig-tree pruning.
Jacob was a liar.
David had an affair.
Solomon was too rich.
Jesus was too poor.
Abraham was too old.
David was too young.
Peter was afraid of death.
Lazarus was dead.
John was self-righteous.
Naomi was a widow.
Paul was a persecutor of the church.
Moses was a murderer.
Jonah ran from God's will.
Miriam was a gossip.
Gideon and Thomas both doubted.
Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal.
Elijah was burned out.
John the Baptist was a loudmouth.
Martha was a worry-wart.
Noah got drunk.
Did I mention that Moses had a short fuse?
So did Peter, Paul - well, lots of folks did.

But God doesn't require a job interview for salvation. He's our Heavenly Father. He doesn't look at financial gain or loss. He's not prejudiced or partial, not judging, grudging, sassy, or brassy, not deaf to our cry, not blind to our need. He know who we are and what we are and loves us in spite of ourselves*

SATAN SAYS, "YOU'RE NOT WORTHY."
JESUS SAYS, "SO WHAT? I AM."
SATAN LOOKS BACK AND SEES OUR MISTAKES.
GOD LOOKS BACK AND SEES THE CROSS.

He doesn't calculate how you failed in '99. It's not even on the record.

Sure, there are lots of reasons why God shouldn't call us. But if we are in love with Him, if we hunger for Him, He'll use us in spite of who we are, where we've been, what we have done, or the fact that we are not perfect!

This isn't from another person but it's something God taught me as I was going on my walk. See I go on walks a lot because it's one of the ways I am able to connect to him in a way I can't other wise on this walk God and I were discussing something he was placing on my heart I call it the ant analogy.

I see ants and their ant hills sometimes, they are working tirelessly all the time. Their only reason for living is helping the queen ant and keeping the ant hill and all the ants strong by gather food scouting the area and working in unity. Now if you look from their perspective this ant hill and the small area around it is their entire world they have no knowledge of the world outside of this area of theirs, a single grass blade towers above them a single tiny pebble is a giant to them.

But compared my eyes view and my knowledge of the world and theirs the vast difference is astonishing, I know that the world is a million times bigger than the tiny world the ants know of, my knowledge and understanding of things compared to them vast and great, all they know is this little world of their while I know how big the world really is they only understand their jobs while I understand math art how things work in this world.

While I thought of this I compared us as the ants and me as God, we ants only know the little world we live in and our understanding of things compared to God is extremely vast, we ants question him and even sometimes get angry at him because we not only have a view of how things should be but we think we know and see the bigger picture when really all we see is our area around the ant hill while he sees the entire world and how things really are. The grass and pebbles to us are giants while to him they are so small and can be blown away by his breath.

And yet even though he could squash these little ants he cares for them and loves them

A little girl walked to and from school daily. Though the weather that morning was questionable and clouds were forming, she made her daily trek to the elementary school. As the afternoon progressed, the winds whipped up, along with thunder and lightning. The mother of the little girl felt concerned that her daughter would be frightened as she walked home from school and she herself feared that the electrical storm might harm her child.

Following the roar of thunder, lightning, like a flaming sword, would cut through the sky. Full of concern, the mother quickly got into her car and drove along the route to her child’s school. As she did so, she saw her little girl walking along, but at each flash of lightning, the child would stop, look up and smile. Another and another were to follow quickly and with each the little girl would look at the streak of light and smile.

When the mother’s car drove up beside the child she lowered the window and called to her.

“What are you doing? Why do you keep stopping?”

The child answered, “I am trying to look pretty, God keeps taking my picture.”

May God bless you today as you face the storms that come your way.

Slowing Down To Win The RaceA few years ago, at the Seattle Special Olympics, nine contestants, all physically or mentally disabled, assembled at the starting line for the 100-yard dash. At the sound of the gun- shot, they all started out, not exactly in a dash, but with a relish to run the race tothe finish and win. All, but for one little boy who stumbled on the asphalt, tumbled over a couple of times, and began to cry, made slow progress. The other eight heard the boy cry. They slowed down and looked back. Then all of them turned around and went back to the little lad. One girl with Down’s syndrome bent down and kissed him and said, “This will make it better.” Then all nine linked arms and walked together to the finish line. Everyone in the stadium stood, and the cheering went on for several minutes! People who were there are still telling the story. Why? Because deep down we all know: More than winning for ourselves what matters in this life is helping others win, even if it means slowing down and changing our course.
