Martyn Lloyd Jones also wrote a book on the Sermon on the Mount showing how it applied to Christians. Im sure the HG people would be in full agreement. ROFL.These men listed are all wonderful men of God that speak of the great salvation and love that Jesus bought for us with His Blood. They lift up the name of Jesus when they tell of His wonderous works on our behalf! Jesus is always exalted in the true gospel of grace! It's all about Him and not us!
I read this persons take on the gospel of grace and again I have to say that I have listened to at least 1,000 sermons on grace over the years and I have never heard one say that we could go out and sin because of the grace of God. In fact they say the very opposite of what this man reports.
These men are in good company as they are with Paul about the preaching of the gospel of Christ!
One of the theologians he quotes about how cults work in the article - Martyn Lloyd-Jones himself believes in the gospel of God as taught by these men and he says this about the gospel of grace. Paul was "accused" of being antinomianism and so will every other true teacher of the gospel of grace.

Yes, so Heb10:18 refers to the new covenant, not the old, as does the preceding three verses
Try the word 'scourge' or 'chastises'...Been to Hebrews often and am aware of Heb.12 and Prov.3, still, see no woodshed, no word "woodshed" and no concept of the Father being angry at me waiting to bounce the moment I step out of line. I see the Good Shepherd loving me.

I absolutely love what the Lord says in Revelation 2 to the messenger assigned to the churches. It speaks volumes of the love and grace of our Lord!
Again...no where here does it say that we lose "fellowship" with the Lord in any of these scriptures. It actually proves that no matter our state He stills has fellowship with us as can be seen by His loving correction to us.
In referring to Romans 2:14-15 ....we were talking about that there were no scriptures that say the Holy Spirit convicts the believer of sin. Romans 2:1-15 is clearly talking about unbelievers. The foolish part I was referring to is that referring to the "cultic" part you all of a sudden changed to. The fact remains there are no scriptures that say the Holy Spirit convicts the believer of sin. He convicts us of our righteousness in Christ because He has gone to the Father. He is our righteousness! It's awesome!

That's an important base, but there is also the process of sanctification, where God is actively cleansing and purging us.
Not all of us were raised under legalism so we don't have a knee jerk reaction against anything that has been taught us in the past.
Amen! He sat down because there is no more sacrifice needed for sin. Sin is a non-issue. Jesus took away all the sins of the world even all the sins you will commit in the future!

Beautiful scripture! The word "chasten" means to child-train and God deals with us with His word to our spirit. This area has already been dealt with in this thread. If interested you can go back and read it. it'll bless you I'm sure.

Graced based believing absolutely love the sermon on the mount that Jesus gave! Beautiful! Jesus was the greatest law preacher and the greatest grace teacher! To those who were trusting in their keeping of the Law...He gave them Law elevated! To those that knew they had no trust within themselves - He gave them grace! It's beautiful to watch our Lord speak truth! We love Him!

This is where you err. The slaying of the sacrifice happened once, but the sacrifice himself now sits on the mercy seat. The blood of the sacrifice is still effectual; it hasn't gone away or ceased from doing its work.
Where is it said that Christ took away (past tense) sins? It isn't. He is in the process of taking away sin. He has merely destroyed the power of sin.

You're conflating fellowship with relationship. Sin bad enough against a friend and your fellowship with him will cease until things are made right, even though the relationship remains. No different with GOD.

That is so true about all of us not being brought up in legalism! Great point! In fact the 2 people that Jesus said had the greatest faith were both non-jews - the syrophoenician woman and the centurion. What they had in common was - they were never taught the law so they had no prior religious beliefs to contaminate them.
Perhaps not lose fellowship if you count his chastisements fellowship...but there seem to be some in the HG camp that have trouble with the woodshed experience. Ouch.
But this hasn't been accomplished yet. The high priest is still in the holy of holies making reconciliation for the sins of the people. Think day of atonement. Sin does not get removed from the congregation until it is placed on the scapegoat and sent away. That hasn't happened yet. We are yet dealing with sin.
