First of all, when speaking with them I would say to not to zero in on the LGBT issue unless directly asked. But if you have the opportunity to share the good news with them, then leave the LGBT issue out of it. But regardless, the issue of what Christ is saving them from is going to come up, at which point our sins which separate us and the consequences for those sins will need to be explained.
Q: Well if I'm gay am I going to hell?
A: Anyone, regardless of the type of sin, if they have not received Christ and repented, then, yes. Scripture states that, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Therefore, to reverse that, those who are not in Christ Jesus are condemnation already as long as they remain in that state.
Q: I was born this way and I can't change. Why would God condemn me?
A: No one is forcing them to engage in those practices, therefore, they have the free will to resist them or to engage in them just like any other sin. Before I came to Christ and even when I was in Christ, I had the urges to fulfill my sexual desires with women and I did, which was sin. But, I had control over those decisions to engage in them or to resist them. Therefore, since God says that homosexuality is a sin, one has the free will to do God's will by resisting those urges or to give in to them, which leads to death as long as one continues in them. Repentance, which is a turning from the sinful nature, is a requirement of receiving Christ. A person who is truly in Christ is wrestling with the sinful nature falling and confessing, falling and confessing until they overcome it. However, the person who is willfully living according to the sinful nature, that is, they are not struggling against the sins of the flesh, they are then sowing to the flesh which leads to death.
Q: What if I'm a good person? Would God still send me to hell for being gay?"
A: God has already answered that question and which every believer is in agreement with which says, that there is none righteous, no not one. All fall short of meeting God's standards for righteousness. Again, it is not an issue of being gay, but of living according to the sinful nature, regardless of the sin. Those who live according to the sinful nature cannot please God, whether they are liars, rapists, murderers, slanderers, greedy, idolaters, sorcerer's (those who use drug), etc., etc.
The sinful nature wars against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh for they are contrary to one another. For those who are in Christ, as we go from faith to faith, the life-long process is that we are displacing the old man, that sinful nature, with the new man in Christ and are being transformed into his image.
In conclusion, those who belong to the LGBT need to repent of those acts just as with any sin. We are to get control of our bodies and resist sin that so easily entangles us. If a person who was an LGBT has come to Christ and has repented, then they will be wrestling with those urges to overcome them and that because they are in agreement with God that it is sin. But, for a person who is an LGBT who justifies and embraces those sinful actions so that they can continue in them, then they are sowing to the sinful nature, which leads to death as long as they continue in that mindset.
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
God is not a respecter of persons. All are judged by God to be sinners and in need of the Savior. We are all born sinners.
To say that God will not save LGBT is to say that God will not save the whosoever wills of this world.

Everyone is a sinner. If someone lied about what they had for dinner, would you go up to them and witness to them? Probably not, even though they just committed a sin. I guess what I'm trying to say is that we all sin and all sin is the same. So treat them and befriend them just like you would anyone else. They don't need special treatment. They are no different than you or I

We do not need to bring out every sin they have done, nor do we need to bring out the fact they are Gay. If they bring it to our attention they are Gay, then we are to treat it as just like any other sin. We do not need to emphasize the sin of being Gay as being greater or worse than any other sin.

My best response: God doesn't condemn anyone, He condemns sin and Homosexuality is a sin whether you think you were born with it or not!

My best response: For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. Only GOD is good. God sends no one to Hell, people choose Hell by not repenting of their sin. And Homosexuality is a sin as revealed in the Word of God.

Actually the truth is neither cold nor hard. Scripture teaches us clearly God is truth. I witness God to others by loving them and speaking the truth in love. In order to speak the truth we have to have some knowledge of the truth. My question is very simple. Why did Jesus come? Did HE come to save the righteous? NO. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. Unlike many people who think they are being christian by condemning others because they are gay or lesbian or have purple hair... the truth is condemning any person over any sin is sin. In fact, we are judged by the measure we use. IT makes as much sense to say to a person, you are going to hell because you dyed your hair purple, as it does to say you are going to hell because you are gay. IF sin were not paid for on the cross we would all be lost. So i am wondering just exactly what you think the "cold hard truth" is.
God is able to save and does. God saves. Do you believe Saul from tarsus was saved? Paul wrote, "I do the very things I hate." It is not a matter of what a person does in every detail that causes them to be condemned or not. I can assure you, there will be many who are saved that most would consider to be condemned and most will be condemned that many would believe are saved.
I do believe participating in homosexual behavior is sin. I do not believe that all sinners are condemned. I do not believe that just because a person participates in a behavior that is sin, all their lives even until their dying day that they will be condemned. The truth is, if that were the case, I am certain none could be saved because all of us do exactly the same thing.
There was a widely publicized murder here a few years ago. The victim was a beautiful talented young college student. She went missing, and after a period of time it was revealed she was murdered and the man was caught. Throngs of "Christians" rallied during the mans trial with signs of condemnation like; "I hope you rot in hell." The man was actually outwardly repentant. (I say outwardly because only God knows if his repentance was real) Here is the problem and a question which fits precisely into what you have asked. Who was more likely saved? Those who claimed to be christian yet condemned this man or the murderer? Just another little bit of human nature (which is evil) At the same time this was going on, there was also another young woman murdered. Her body was cut into pieces and found along a shore line. Both women were the same age but one received tremendous publicity and the other did not. Both went missing, both were found to be murdered, both were the same age yet one case dominated the news for months. Why? because the other case, wasn't as obscene to the masses. She went missing on her way home from a bar instead of on her way home from a friends house.
Scripture teaches very clearly. We must repent to be saved. Many people believe repentance means no longer participating in known sinful behavior. IF this were the case, I can assure you that I could not possibly be saved. What I believe repentance is is this: Repentance is turning away from evil and clinging to good. We are saved by grace through faith. Jesus is our savior and our king. HE has a scepter in his hand that is a symbol of His authority and this scepter is called Justice. Justice has two sides. One side is to hate wickedness the other side is to love righteousness. Paul understood this clearly when he wrote, "then if i do the very thing i hate no longer is it I who do it but sin which indwells me."
Your post tells me things about you that are very different from me. IN God's word it is written, "a good saying is this, Jesus came to save sinners, of whom I am the worst." I have adopted this because ... scripture tells me it is good. So, I consider myself to be the worst of sinners. I am the worst of sinners, saved by grace through faith. It is my commission to love others even as I am loved. I do NOT think; "God how can i witness to this community." I do think, "God please help me to love this person as you love me." and sometimes I think, "God please show me how to love this person." Which in fact, I thought when I read your post, and have been thinking as I have been writing. The difference between us is simple. Just as God deals me as an individual so also I deal with each person I encounter individually. There is only one grouping for sinners, all of us.

imo, it's when people thirst that they are open to witnessing... about the water of life...
But Paul changed his ways and his heart. Did the murderer change his ways? Did he change his heart? If the answer is yes then he's saved. If he stayed in sin then no he wasn't saved. But the ultimate choice is up to God.

The life of Christ in us changes us...we cannot change ourselves. Repent means to change your mind and turn from your dependence on yourself and believe in Christ. It's not about "doing"..it's about "being". When we find out who we are in Christ..we become who we truly are because of the new creation in Christ.

I hear this from many non Christians. Honestly I don't think most people who are Christian have a clue what repentance actually is. Some people have this idea that they can stop sinning. IF this were possible, We would never have needed a savior. A person who has a repentant heart knows no sin is ever free and has no desire to sin at all. True repentance is when a person desires only Godly things, and hates everything else. Your answer shows clearly you have little understanding of repentance because if you did understand, you would know the phrase "free to keep sinning" is in fact completely corrupt. Scripture teaches clearly that as long as we have fleshly bodies we are condemned to sin, which is far different than free to sin.
I don't think I'd witness to them unless they inquired about what I believe. They might not care or resent pushy Christian types? I know I do
