Thanks Lance but none of those say it is a sin to simply be gay. One needs to be acting in a sinful manner to be sinning, you know? Last I checked, just existing as a gay person was not a sin.

The act is a sin and in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 it states homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God
I see you second post, it still does not address how the simple fact of being gay is a sin.

And when they preached the gospel....they did not rail on about people's sins.....I know this conflicts with our traditional view of the gospel which we have been taught in church but it doesn't change the scripture that shows us an example of preaching the gospel....Look at Paul when he went to preach the gospel..no where did he rail about their sin..he preached Christ..not sin!

when you read that the disciples were put in jail it was actually because they healed a lame man..because part of the gospel of the grace of Christ is healing! The gospel is all about good news. The word gospel = ..the nearly too good to be true news!

Yes sir,you got it! Preach the Gospel!!!

It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate: A man is sleeping with his father’s wife. 2 And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have gone into mourning and have put out of your fellowship the man who has been doing this? 3 For my part, even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. As one who is present with you in this way, I have already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus on the one who has been doing this. 4 So when you are assembled and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, 5 hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.

6 Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough? 7 Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. 8 Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people—10 not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world.11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister[c] but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.
12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.” 1 Cor 5

If homosexuals can't inherit the Kingdom of God that implies that it is a sin to be a homosexual. Sin keeps us from the Kingdom of God. Pretty simple IMO

This is all a matter of identity! If I was a thief before I came to Christ..am I still a thief?..in the eyes of the world I am ( and in the eyes of self-righteous people that never sold I could still be thought of that way )

In Christ there is no such thing of being gay, being a thief, a gossiper..whatever. We are new creations in Christ!

It's a matter of indentity! Let's tell Christians who they really are now in Christ..and to stop identifying ourselves with the old habits of our former life or for those things that we still struggle with.

Yep..talking about a believer!...non an unsaved person.....the Corinthians were boasting about this guy doing that particular sin. (verse 6)

Paul often talked about what the real "fruit" of the Christian's life should look like and to that everyone agrees.

Good question. I was thinking about something a few minutes ago. Back with the apostles were they seeing true conversions where the new Christians were turning away from all sin? And if this is the case were they talking about non believers? If that is the case then are we seeing more false conversions today than they did back then?

.telling them that they are going to hell ( whether true or not true ) and to stop sinning is NOT the gospel!

Ummm why did the disciples end up in prison?

because they preached Christ, not the law. and the pharisees went behind them to tell the romans they were against ceasar..

Hmmmm..maybe what we think it means to "inherit" the kingdom means?..we have been taught in church it means " you a will not go to heaven"

Is it possible to inherit the "kingdom live" here on this earth will be compromised?..if I live as a swindler..I will not have a good life here on earth while doing that.

It also says at the start of that verse..the "unrighteous" will not inherit the kingdom. Paul could be giving descriptions of what unbelievers ( the unrighteous ) are doing We know those who have received Christ are the righteousness of God in Christ. When a Christian sins..do we lose that righteousness?..nowhere does it say we lose our righteousness ?

just sayin'

I was wondering............ If someone asked each of us whether God gave us a microscope, or a mirror, what would our individual answers be?
