Has anyone noticed? Up to about 2 months ago Christian Chat was drowning with posts pushing legalism.
Recently the pendulum has swung to antinomianism and we're having a flood of hyper grace posts twisting Scriptures to fit that aberrant theology.

And, in a few months, it will swing back. Then some months after that, it will swing the opposite direction again. That's just how it works.

I've been here a while longer than you and I haven't seen that before.

I was thinking about this last night. Both have been very instructive for me.

Seems we have a new crop of folks to teach us the error of our ways. The last group having done all they could do have left for more promising fields to pillage.

Seems to be all the fashion to pose threads in obtuse ways to stimulate strife and disagreement among the less mature believers.

2 Peter 3:1 ¶ But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 ¶ And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

To be honest with you, I have yet to really see any posts about this supposed "Hyper-Grace" people hyperly harp about. All I have seen are posts of people complaining about something no one has even talked about. (They see only what they want to see, it seems, and claim that is what others are saying.)

I've seen very few people pushing "legalism" or justification by our "own works", or "works Salvationism" as they say. But I have been accused by the hyper grace (greasy grace) crowd of preaching it. This false label to me is just a strawman label the greasy grace crowd try to pin on those who speak out against sin, and against those who preach an obedient faith.

But there have been a few banned and have left who were labeled as "legalists" by the greasy grace crowd, so maybe the false accusations and false labeling of others in order to get them banned is actually working for the greasy grace crowd? Just a thought. :)

I think you just proved Willy T's point.

You say people teach hyper grace who are not.

Hyper-Grace is Michael Brown's labeling of New Grace, which some here very definitely are teaching.
where??

I know a few people quoted him, But I still am confused as to who is teaching it.

if people are, then I would be against them also. Because licentiousnes (hyper grace or whatever you want to call it) does not teach grace
