I've fought many mind games with many people in my life, and as a good man, I just can't win.

After X amount of years trying to keep a marriage alive so I could get custody of my 14yo girl, having to battle mentally with ex's nasty worldly friends, and having a stroke trying to cope seven years ago, I have the wisdom to turn this one over to Jesus Christ. I am not going down again because of silly power games. I'm going to quit trying to get along with her in my own house and just ignore her, she talks more to my mom anyway. At this point I feel worthless.

So I'm giving up and letting Jesus take it from here, and devoting my time to the hobby i love and was not allowed to do all these years by my Ex.

Please pray for me, and thanks :) ...

I think that it's good that you're going to stop "trying to get along w/ her". Honestly, it sounds like she may need some tough love. I don't know for certain in this situation, but I DO know that often if a child/teen is allowed to shun a parent, he or she will. Anyway, hope things turn out well, and I just asked Him to show you what you need to do :).

I'm not really clear on the whole scuttlebutt here, but I sincerely hope things pick up for you Jeremy. Life can be a bit of a roller coaster. :eek:

Sorry to hear that Jeremy, Ill be praying for you. On a lighter note, what is this hobby you speak of? Sounds interesting. If after all this your seeing a positive saying "well at least I can finally do X!" makes me wonder what X is. Im going to take a stab and say it involves a motorcycle? :p

Good guess Donkeyfish, but it's a Model A Ford my dad gave me years ago. I helped him with it some 25-30 years ago. He got a different one and I'm building my dream hot rod, an old school "A" with late 40's style mods. And a few hidden modern mods (stereo, AC). I'm pretty excited about it :)

That does sound like a lot of fun :). Im not much of a car guy myself but I love model A's. I can't even remember the last time I seen one on the road.

Merry Christmas to all! :)

My prayers were answered, we are getting along well now. Unfortunately her mom showed her true self to her. She gave my girl the usual crappy time about me, but instead of crying she stood up to her mom and told her how it really is...It's a shame, really. But everyone makes their choices as adults. I'm just blessed that she and I know the Lord, without him, and my parents support through it all, well I'd rather not think about that.
