Yes but again with the lost sheep you still leave one part off from that passage, the sheep has to repent !!!
Ken, are you going to rejoice when you see so many lost sheep in Heaven that you didn't think you'd be seeing or are you going to be upset that God's grace was extended to them?

You know how that sheep repented?..he allowed/consented Jesus (the Shepherd) to carry it on His shoulders and the sheep had to rest in His love for him....as the Great Shepherd carried the sheep all the way home....great example of repentance and trust in our Lord's finished work for us!
That is not all of what repentance means, it also means he stopped following after those sinful ways and returned to the Lord.

Repentance is more then just a change of mind as it leads to action as well !!!

Charles Spurgeon said regarding faith.
You have to exercise that faith, Jesus wont believe for you
Jesus says, "For God so loved the world (come on, say it with me) that He gave His own Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." But I digress, you prefer to lean on the words of someone named Charles Spurgeon rather than God's Word.

How could the sheep return to the Lord when he was already with the Lord?..you are grasping now at straws...

Sorry but I will not be surprised at all because the parable of the lost sheep is very clear in its wording, and Jesus said the sheep repented !!!

You may not like that because of your question to me here, but the sheep repenting is part of that parable. It can not be denied or left off.

How does the above disagree with what I quoted of Spurgeon?

Because when he was lost he was not with the Lord, he wandered away from the flock = body of Christ.

He had to return to flock and repentance is required to do that, and Apostle James gives the same teaching in James 5:19-20.

We do not sin and also be in the Light at the same time !!!!

Well if you don't like what Spurgeon said then go by what Jesus said in both John 3:21 and Luke 6::46-49.

Jesus says why call Him Lord if you don't do what He says, then follows it up with what it exactly means to believe in Him:
Come to Him, hear what He says, and then go do it !!!

Jesus says a hearer only has no foundation in Him, and James says a hearer only is deceived !!!

When someone truly believes in Jesus and gives their life to Him, they have repented. Yet many remain in sin because of their weak state of being. That's where grace takes over and reigns supreme. I love everything about my question to you and my response to you, but infinitely more so, I love everything about God's saving grace in Jesus Christ.

Nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Try again.

LOL..the sheep was on the Lord's back....it was the Lord who went to finds the sheep..it was the Lord who picked the sheep up and put the sheep on His shoulders....the sheep repented by trusting in the Lord to carry him and to rest in His finished work....it's a beautiful picture of the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

. He is awesome and we have a great salvation in Him.

No repenting means a change of mind toward the wretched sinful person we once were, and that in turn leads us to walk away from those sins and stop doing them.

Yes we will still struggle with some sins as some are harder to stop then others, but the Holy Spirit will strengthen us to overcome those sins and walk in His way.

You claim some remain in sin because of being weak, that is a sign of not allowing the Holy Spirit to strengthen them to overcome those ways. And by God's grace we need to help them and show them it can be done, which is why we are to give our testimonies.

1 Corinthians 8:11 Paul states a weak brother/sister can still perish !!!

Trying to get people to see the grace of Christ as Paul preached is like trying to get people to see "speaking in tongues" is for today.

It's like pulling teeth..lol....they have their "pet" scriptures that refutes anything to do with those devil tongues...lol..it's hilarious to watch..

..remember if the gospel you hear...does not make you say..What?..does that mean we can sin all we want?"...if people do not accuse you of this..then you are not giving out the real gospel..

Yes He will come and get us, and He has charged the leaders in the body to be these overseers of the flock and bring them back when they wander astray.

That still does not exclude or do away with repentance having to be made by the one who departed from the Truth !!!

I don't know what this is all about because I believe tongues are still done today, just not in the way the Charismatic movement does it or should say abuses it.

Babbling out loud funny noises is not one of the tongues mentioned in the Word of God.

Apostle Paul did preach grace but he did not preach grace alone, warnings always came in his messages as well !!!

You are trying hard to leave the part off of why the sheep went astray in the first place to it needing to repent, and the Lord come after it. Why???

Utah and Kenneth, I think you BOTH are using to much human logic to study God's WORD. Utah, you are into a false man centered Eternal Sec. and Kenneth you are into human false perfectionism, both are wrong Try to KEEP the Contrasts of God Word friends . "GOD knows those who are His and let him who names the names of the Lord, depart from sin" God will save only His "elect' ones and we must keep up with our repenting Trusting and obeying Jesus to be saved in the end.

Your second paragraph SCREAMS grace yet you fail to embrace God's gift for what it is . . .

an irrevocable gift.

Have you ever tried to "tell" someone who didn't believe in tongues that it was for today?...now you will catch our "drift"..what happens to grace believers trying to tell about the grace of Christ....behavior is a different part of it..but it's the acceptance grace that most people have a hurdle to get over.
