As Kraw said, we haven’t discovered the Cardassions yet. If we were to tell you even the least little thing about them, we would risk disturbing the space-time continuum. If we did that, it is possible that none of us would even be born. I think I can tell you, however, that you will learn about these ugly, lying, treacherous, despicable devils soon enough.

You are only half Vulcan, Spock. (Turning to the stranger) I am inclined to believe my first officer, mister, and I cannot have my crew members wandering around stealing pencils. They cost money. Confine yourself to your quarters until further notice.

we are talking about the french metric system which your federal government agreed to but is powerless, because of your constitution , to enforce

Spock, have you seen that thermite explosive device I was studying before I went to lunch? It seems to have disappeared.
Can’t say that I have, Captain.
That would be disastrous if it got into the wrong hands. The lives of everybody aboard the starship are at risk. I have a movie date with Ensign Wanda Palleroo from engineering in five minutes. Do you suppose an exhaustive search for the explosive device could be put off until I get back?
I see no harm in it, Captain.

I don’t think there is much sentiment at all in the USA to use metric. We love our own system.
