We already have a thread on the subject"Obsession with confession"(1st John 1:9,sin confession) but I was wondering what a poll would say.

Your name will NOT be shown so you can vote without revealing who you are so that all we will see Is what the poll shows.

The teaching that 1 John 1:9 only applies to unbelievers is ridiculous and the work of satan.

We need to acknowledge our sin when there is a need. Confession of sin as a ritual or habit or something is pointless.

No, the ones who say 1 John 1:9 is meant only for unbelievers have to prove that claim.

When I feel I have done something wrong, I pretty much go to God automatically and talk with Him about it anyway, I'm not sitting there fretting about my salvation over what I've done, nor do I consider my salvation when I've done something wrong, as in I'm not going to God begging for my salvation back or asking Him to take me back. Its simply going to Him.

I certainly was when I first heard ot it..( not on this CC )..I thought.."That guys is a heretic..everyone knows we need to ask for forgiveness in order to be forgiven.."....My head rebelled against it because of my religious upbringing and tradition..

My spirit was saying that there is something here I need to be looking at. I prayed and asked the Lord to reveal the truth to me. In a series of different people talking I could finally see what was being said..Now when I look at it..I say..how did I not ever see that?

Religious traditions are tough animals to get out of our heads sometimes!

YEP I don't think It has been read by some,It seems like some people are predisposed against It without even reading It.

Jesus told us that nothing can take his children from Him. We do not pray to maintain salvation. We pray to grow in fellowship with Him.

How did Jesus teach us to pray, and how often did he tell us to pray?

Sounds like you are saying you would vote for option #1 In the poll.

We are saved/reborn In the spirit and then sealed.JESUS died once and for all and GOD forgave those who believe In his WORD once and forever.

But when It comes to our neighbor:
We need to acknowledge our sin when there is a need.

I voted other.

The bible says that the blood is cleansing us from all sin (when we walk in the light). That contradicts the idea that GOD forgave once and forever.

I understand and If that Is where you are at,at this time its ok but now there Is no more condemnation for those who are In CHRIST JESUS.
GOD has forgiven you so be righteousness conscious and not sin conscious.

I certainly am unlearning to be sin conscious, its a disease for the mind. But I certainly have no issues about speaking with my Father about anything whether the 'good' or the 'bad'.

This is a good scripture that was in my daily devotional reading..

Colossians 3:1-4 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
[SUP]2 [/SUP] Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

We need to confess our sins continuously and be righteous conscious

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We need to confess the Lord Jesus one time to be right standing with God.

1 John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
