Acknowledging our sin once to GOD and when It comes to loving your neighbor, If we offend them more than once we would need to constanly reconcile with them.

If "we" in America do not receive Jesus as our Lord we will die without Him. When I said that sentence....does that mean I have not received Jesus? "We" all have to acknowledge that we have sins and get cleansed.

On the subject of forgiveness that we have in Christ now because of His precious Blood...here is what the scriptures say..
1 John 2:12 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven you for His name's sake.
have been forgiven = perfect passive
perfect = The perfect tense expresses perfective action. Perfective action involves a present state which has resulted from a past action. The present state is a continuing state; the past action is a completed action. It is continuously in the present
passive = voice = action is happening to you....you are not doing it
Without a doubt this verse says that the sins are forgiven from a past action that remains in a continuous completed state and that was put on them....not something they did
Ephesians 1:7 (KJV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
We have redemption = present continuous action...so this means we have present continuous forgiveness of our sins...and look...that hyper-grace stuff shows up again!...it's all according to the riches of our loving Father's grace that He has given to us in Christ our Lord.
Colossians 1:13-14 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,

People don't sin when they're walking in the light, because the light cannot sin. Therefore, people sin when they're walking in the darkness. So when children of light sin, they're walking in darkness.
2 different categories of people..believer = light unbeliever = darkness

If it wasn't possible for a child of light to walk in darkness, there would be no admonition to walk in the light.

Nonsense. Christians are children of light, that's who we are. That we do not walk perfectly does not change us back into children of darkness. We can and will stumble and we can and will fall, but God doesn’t then reject us and stick us back in the darkness, to fumble around even more. He is the One who picks us up, not the One who pushes us down. The image of God that those who claim to be His hold to is truly astounding.

A believer can not sin while walking in the Light / abiding in Christ !!!
It's that simple people.........But we do still sin which means that sin has to come from some where else, because Christ can not deny Himself. His ways do not lead to transgression, and all sin is transgression.

You're conflating being in the light with walking in the light. Being is what we are; walking is what we do. Stumbling in darkness doesn't change our state of being.
...those that are "works" orientated always get our identity in Christ and our behavior mixed up....we are light in the Lord because we are in Christ.....because we are in Him - His life in us will cause us to walk uprightly in this present world.
There would be no admonition to be who you are (walk in the light) if it were not possible to not be who you are (walk in darkness).
"If we claim to have fellowship with Him yet walk in darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth." (verse 6).
In other words, if someone says he has fellowship with Christ, but is walking in darkness (lost), he is lying and not practicing the truth. The Gnostics ( not true believers ) claimed to be in fellowship with Christ (saved), and yet were actually living a lie and therefore weren't practicing the truth.

In the light means who we are. Walk in the light means what we do. It's not possible to sin in the light. Yet believers sometimes sin because they sometimes walk in darkness.

No a believer can sin but that sin is not done in the Light, or while abiding in Christ.........
John makes it very clear, those who are born of God can not sin !!! (1 John 5:18)
That is because sin(darkness) does not abide in the Light.........
When we sin it is because we have broken fellowship and unity with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:3,30), and thus grieved the Holy Spirit. We then must restore that unity and that is what confession and returning to walking in the Spirit does.

It's the same difference. Christians are in the light, we walk in the light, we live in the light. That we do so imperfectly can never change any of that. If we all walked perfectly there would be no need for sanctification, for the re-newing of our minds. We are all works in progress, and God isn’t finished with any of us.
We walk uprightly when we walk according to the spirit. Walking according to the carnal mind does not produce the same results.
