Neither resisting temptation nor coming back to God after giving in to temptation, but turning to, and clinging to God in moments of temptation, is what requires most strength. Because if I depend on myself to resist temptation I will likely fail, because I am weak, but if I use what little strength I have to turn to God, I will likely succeed in resisting.

in my opinion they both require the same amount because we need his deep and rich grace in abundance period his grace cannot be measured it is everlasting it's depths cannot be fathomed and whether we are resisting temptation or coming back to him we still require all his grace either way
Yes, the strength needed in both cases is called the Holy Spirit.
