I want to know if I am insane!!!

Okay, so I am a 17 year old white Canadian Male, and I am heavily obsessed with the Philippines... It as if it is my God because I idolize it so much, I am so devoted unto studying everything about the country and even learning the language.... Everyday I expand my vocabulary in their official language called Tagalog. As well, I always spend at least an hour a day reading about Filipino history from books that I have. I even plan on buying more history books. I am even at the point that I know the location and name of every province and major city, as well as the major languages spoken in each province,
Also at school every time we receive assignments, I always manage to turn the assignment into something about the Philippines. I am also thinking about learning how to read in the ancient script of the Philippines called Baybayin or what is incorrectly known as "Alibata"; even though this would have no use at all. But the weirdest thing is, every time I hear someone say the word "Philippines" I jump internally in excitement. It just feels so good to hear the name for some weird reason... And when I happen to see Filipino people, hahaha I feel so crazy in the inside, my heart goes fast my eyes light up and I have to fight the urge to yell kabayan.. hahahaha

Important note, I NEVER BEEN OUTSIDE OF CANADA BEFORE....

God could be preparing you for a trip there, or to become friend with someone from there..The mysteries of God, are many. I wouldn't call you insane..Now if you were going around saying you were Christ Jesus, I'd be concerned!..;)

When I was 7 yrs old, I was obsessed with "Pig Latin". I could sing or say any dialogue in it, having lots of fun. What is Pig Latin, you may ask? Why, all you do is eliminate the first letter of a word in a sentence, put it at the end of the word and add "AY" to it. Love would become 'Ovelay" and You would become "Ouyay"...But guess what...I never posted this obsession here until now, after reading your post. Atchcay my iftdray?

Thought what an unusual username is that. Oh, and u dont have the Canadian flag either!
But dont idolize it as you said, it is quite possible to go more than liking or being interested in someting like music or education, but that God gave but also takes away.

Actually not . ...
:read:
There are more than 170 different languages spoken in the Philippines and the majority of them are of Austronesian descent
Parang hindi ka naman ata pilipino kapatid
Dapat alam mo na halos 170 dialects meron ang mga tao sa pilipinas

Ang dialect kasi namin bukod sa tagalog ay karay~a
Yung kasama ko naman ang dialect nya ay visaya

Dapat nagresearch ka muna kapatid
Bago mo sinabi na mangilanngilan lang ang lengguwage o dialekto
Sa pilipinas :flag:

:smoke: maraming salamat po

God bless us all always

Ok...

Cebuano is not a dialect of Tagalog. Instead, it's a dialect mostly used in Visayas and Mindanao.

Eh may mga ibon na nagliliparan sa likuran ko yun pla mga tao yun

Di ko lubos talaga maunawaan kasi nagtama pa ang mga mata namen ng mga babaeng yun na parang mga huni ng ibon kung mag-usap sila sa isa't isa habang dahan dahan akong bumababa ng lantsa :smoke:

THAT TOTALLY EXPLAINS IT ALL. I'm sorry I got weird-ed out by the random PMs. Lol. If ya told me earlier, we could've been friends sooner! Lol. But hats off to you for having such passion for something so... boring. Lol! I kid. I speak Cebuano and my hometown's the oldest city in the Philippines. I can speak Tagalog but I run out of vocabulary fast. Lol. Anyway, I'm here if you wish to know anything that I know! Mind you, I almost failed Philippine History in high school... so yeah. You were warned.

It's funny and amazing at the same time knowing that other nationalities like you love our country because I know a lot don't and only think or see Philippines as a third world dirty with full of corrupt leaders and servants. Even those who are born Filipinos are not proud of being one.
