Hi!
I just came across a box full of sports cards from my childhood. I'm looking up price values and reviving them. Anyone collect, use to collect, know anything about Sports cards? etc?

I used to collect and I have thousands of cards lol, mostly basketball and football. When I was younger, pre-internet days, we'd always be excited to go to the card shop and look up our card values in the newest Beckett price guide.

But I haven't collected in years, so unfortunately I don't really know the best place to find prices anymore, or even if they're still easy to sell.

Mannnn somewhere there's shoe boxes of all my old cards.

This reminded me of all the fleer metals I was trying to collect when I was a kid though. I just saw on Ebay a Michael Jordan fleer metal that I had is only selling for 3.50 lol

Wow, that's it. I looked up one of my Jordans out of curiosity and it's selling for a little more than that. I don't think I'd ever sell mine though. But Fleer Metals were cool. I still have a few of them. My favorite cards to collect were probably the 1997 Skybox Metal Universe cards. I may have to go through a few boxes and binders later lol.

Sadly the market on cards from the late 80's to current are not as high as it used to be. There was Mass production. It wasn't like when I was a child and there was a limited supply. I had family who owned a card shop and it did well until mass production of sports cards started. Now if you have anything pre 80's some are worth a lot. Good Luck and if you feel you have a rare card, please go to a reputable place for an appraisal, as many shop like to con.

Yeah I think the MJ card I saw on ebay was apart of the base collection of fleer metals. It wasn't a rare card from the box. But I think I traded a rare Iverson from that box for a Matt Williams autographed baseball. Lol not sure if I benefited from that financially, but I was a fan of Williams when I was a kid.
