Hello wonderful people of planet CC. So, I've been planning on changing my exercise routine. I don't really workout as much as I should (need cardio for breath support lol) but I bike usually from half to an hour, 2-3 times a week. I've been having back problems though lol and I think that has something to do with my lack of upper body exercise. So, I was gonna start running this week and see if that fits me better. Pun intended. Lol.

So, here's for you! Do you exercise too? What's your routine?

Yes I exercise! When weather is great and pool great I am always swimming, basketball, kayaking, baseball and free weights. When weather is as it is now, I do a treadclimber, free weights and zumba. I always walk and dance and have a stand up desk. My goal is always mixing it up to maintain the muscle tone I want and not get bored.

Karate sounds interesting! Though, personally, I don't think I'll ever try it lol.

I used to play badminton a lot with my mom, she got to regionals when she was in college. And I still can't beat her lol. But ever since I moved, and with my ugly schedule, I don't get to play with anyone lol.

Wow. How do you even do that?! Lol, that's amazing. I happen to have a desk job and work 12hr shifts. Sometimes I forget to stand, and I don't think that's healthy. I heard Zumba is good but I've always thought the dance steps were kinda hard to follow lol.

One word caught my eye. "Routine." Did you know that getting into too much of a repetitive "routine" will actually reduce the effectiveness of your exercising? Every few weeks, change the specific exercises you do. Introduce new stuff. You can go back to the old, off and on, but just give it a month or so rest, doing something different, instead.

I lift weights and run on the treadmill 2-3 times a week at the gym (Planet Fitness). I walk a lot, since I am a mailman. When the weather is nice, my wife and I like to ride our bikes on the Katy Trail. We also like to go swimming. I like the T-25 workout. The Insanity workout is a little bit too insane for me. lol

I workout a lot. At home, I do a lot of ab work and cardio. I do this 30 day shred that really keeps me moving and works on a lot of different things through the workout. At the gym I do pretty much everything; it just depends on the day. Tonight I'll probably warm up on the upright bike, then do chest presses, shoulder presses, machine fly, curls, dumbbell curls, barbell curls, bench press, maybe knee raises in the captain's chair, etc. Mostly upper body stuff lol. I try to get in an hour of work at the very least. Other than that I do play basketball when I get the chance. Nothing's better than basketball. :p

Abing!

Yes, I do, wherever I can find the space and the time. I do body weight exercises (push ups, pull ups, planks, lunges, stretches/yoga, etc.), sometimes strictly cardio, though I like mixing the two - i.e. interval training (e.g. burpees, or burpees + pull ups).

There's a Kung Fu San Soo class nearby I'm considering joining too (I wanted to learn Kali, but the classes aren't near).

we have learned the hard-way, that we must never 'give-in' to disease, pain, discomfort,
debilitation, or any other malady that tries to take-us-over and own us or kill us....

as the old football coach said, 'give me the man/woman that can fight while he is losing,
that's the man I want on my team!!!

you will ALWAYS be surprised/awed by what your mind-body-spirit can do under the most
difficult circumstances possible.....

PHIL. 4:13. - I can do all things through Christ which strengens me.

Take it easy out the gate some walking then build up to running. If you have back issues with riding a bike running could make it worse, running has more of a impact on the back then riding.

I was doing Jiu Jitsu but I just can't afford it right now. Most Brazilian Jiu Jitsu places offer a free trial class. If you try it, you might get hooked. It's addictive.
