Alphas males usually are. I find it both sad and rather hilarious. Mainly because the beta koala whines like a toddler/child and then stops whinging when it realises no one cares. Its reactions are all very, very human. But the alpha male is still a bully.

Apparently, I'm one of a very small number of people who notices the high-frequency sounds emitted by dim light bulbs and box TV sets. They drive me insane. It sounds kind of like tinnitus would. I distinctly remember having to get up late at night to go ask my dad to turn the TV off (in spite of the fact that he had the volume way low) because I could hear the noise nearly 3 rooms away. So far my cousin is the only other person I've ever heard actually complain about the same problem. Currently, I am sitting in a room hoping I won't have to change the light bulbs out... they're new bulbs, but that noise... eek.

I ask people all the time: "Hey, do you hear that? That ringy noise that that TV is making?" And they look at me like... well, like I'm hearing things.

They should switch to all LED bulbs in your house. They don't emit any radio frequency waves. CFL's do (compact flourescents). CFL's can actually interfere with radio antennas if you put the radio close enough to them. They also have LED tv's now.

What I'm thinking is that it might have something to do with age, because I've heard that as you get older the fewer high-frequency noises you can detect.

This is true. There's a website somewhere where you can listen to different pitches and they will guess your age based on which ones you can hear.
I hear buzzing and ringing around the house too. Isn't it super weird, for instance, when one ear does some weird thing and all of a sudden there's this LOUD ringing that you never heard before? What is up with that??
Is it because of the greyish color? They have ones now called soft white and they give off the same warm light that normal bulbs give. Walmart has 60 watt ones for only around $3 each (walmart brand) and they use even less electricity than CFL's and you won't have to replace them for like twenty years... oh and the bulb part is plastic so they won't break.

I've always been able to hear those old TVs. People think I'm crazy anyway, one more reason to suspect my sanity won't matter much. I'm just glad flatscreens don't do the same noise.
What drives ME nuts is the high squeal made by bad brakes. It kills my ears while other people are looking at me like I'm nuts because they don't hear anything.
