The Virgin Mary didn't have to.

LOL...

You are all so funny...I wish I didn't have to shave...why does society tell me I have to have no body hair on my pits or my legs to be attractive?? Why do I have to wear high heels that bruise the heck out of my toes? or panty hose that feel uncomfortable, or mascara that makes my eye lashes stick together? or lipstick that tastes and smells disgusting...
ahhhh...the foibles of being a woman...

men are lucky.

Walt, good point. Shaving is a pretty modern idea, from what I understand. However, I have not met any men who were turned on by the idea of women going "au naturele" when it comes to body hair. Growing out a beard is considered cool, and a source of amusement (at least, it is among my male friends at church... they may be in their mid to late 20's, but sometimes I wonder... :) ) But if you asked any of them what they thought of a woman not shaving, it would probably be: Gross. Lol.

Also, I like having clean shaven legs and underarms. But that's me.

I wonder what their men think about that...

this is off topic, but I find it interesting nontheless:

When I was growing up, I had a family as neighbors. The husband was from Greece and the wife was of Hispanic decent, they had two beautiful boys...well, the wife was about three hundred pounds and the husband was what I consider to be very handsome, but he obviously found his wife to be beautiful...so, I often wonder if being superficially beautiful, and what that entails, is relative to the place and time one lives in...to shave, or not to shave? To diet, or not to diet? To have plastic surgery, or not have plastic surgery? Why do we allow society to dictate what beauty is? And why do we put ourselves through excrutiating waxes and expensive exfoliations, for the sake of beauty? And the most important question of all: "where does one go to be who he/she wants to be without culture dictating their level of attractiveness or beauty??"

Call me a deviant for going against the current social trend, but lasses with body hair doesn't bother me at all. To be clear, I don't mind either way so I wouldn't say body hair in itself turned me on, but there is definitely something attractive about a woman that resists this bizarre social 'obligation' to shave everything.

I've never dated, but once I'm in a relationship, I'm not going to start shaving more. I would hope that any guy I would consider worthy of entering into a relationship with would know beforehand how I feel about my shaving habits.

I shave my underarms as often as possible, because it's cleaner to have hairless underarms. I don't shave my legs very often. I just wear tights, leggings, tube socks, etc so I can avoid shaving as long as possible. During the winter, I tend not to shave at all. What's the point if my legs are covered the whole time?

Maybe once married, I'll care to shave more(probably not), but I don't see the point of shaving when I'm not married.

Also, it's fun to compare leg hair with girl friends. lol Pulling up the pant leg and saying "look how long my hair is!" can be a great source of amusement.

I think the point is, with whoever your partner will be... you want to look your best for them out of love. This is a natural thing. If you are married, you will want to keep up appearances for them simply based on that. To not do so is sort of being lazy and disrespectful... at least if they do it for you. Otherwise, you are telling your husband that it's okay to be completely unshaven/unkempt, because you do it yourself. If you don't care what he does, then he shouldn't care what you do. If you DO care that he shaves and keeps himself neat, so should you. That's just my opinion.

I think electric razors for the face are really underestimated. I hate using bladed razors, and I think that properly used the electric ones work just as good and are much quicker.

Anyway, honestly I think how much we should shave is determined by whoever we're with/around. For instance I don't shave my chest but I'd have absolutely no problem doing it if people wanted me to.

I really wouldn't bug my husband about his facial hair. I agree, though, that if I did care about his facial hair and told him to keep it trimmed, I better shave as well if he wants me to.

We allow it because we all have a desire to fit in amongst the crowd.

You all are highly amusing :)

My beard grows faster than the US National Debt, so I loathe shaving.
I have to use electric and regular, and a katana or 2.

I do shave sometimes, when I get tired of the sexy-goofy-rugged look.

Clean shaven, soulpatch here. don't use shaving cream. i've used whipcream once... hm. only shave with a 1-blade razor and wet the razor and my face down first before so it cuts off well. does pull a lot, but it's not painful. you might be able to say i tried shaving with a foot-long sword-breaker once... but it wasn't sharp.

a little duct tape and a quick yank can fix that soul patch problem. ;)

whip cream... like the whip cream meant for food and not faces? lol

I was wondering about that one as well...

A goatee sundae, perhaps? :D
