That's the whole point..standing in Him..fighting the good fight of faith...on down to praying in the spirit in verse 18...knowing who you are in Christ is applicable to every area of our life in Christ....knowing who we are in Christ..enables us to BE who we are while standing and praying..walking out our life..etc.....it's glorious and beautiful when we see Him and what He has done!

We don't have a life apart from Him.....
Ok good, I hope to hear more of those imperatives found in Eph 6...

'Be strong,'
'Take unto you the whole armor'
'Stand therefore'

as well as the rest...

"And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;"

But all I am hearing is the imperative mantra "Know who you are in Christ".

Bless you brother!...

Grace7x77 you lie like a trouper.

One moment you say, if you sin you are not walking right ie a carnal christian or you are an unbeliever and then everyone will sin. Either it is certain or it is not, or else you lie to suit circumstance.

So which are you, or are you another alternative to your propoganda?

I am a redeemed child of Christ, redeemed and washed in His blood. I walk in righteousness, and occasionally stumble, but in His grace, repent and seek forgiveness from the Father through Christs blood.

It sounds like an imaginary man doctrine. They imagine themselves as born again of the Spirit, but in reality they are still in the flesh, and their ongoing sinful lifestyle just proves their delusion is very real. They seem to post their doctrine from a lot of the same sources too, like that one "escape from reality" or something like that. How fitting. :)
Do....you....still.....sin?

Thank God those imperatives are always based on the indicatives of God’s grace in Christ.

LOL........that's why I put the "etc." in my post " His armor is our armor..His righteousness and truth is ours to because we are in Him...etc..etc.

I didn't want to put the whole scripture in again......all the imperatives are Christ's enablements..I'm telling you He is awesome! He has done great and mighty things for us who believe in Him!

Good grief. This stuff is not innocent ideas. You cannot say one thing with eternal consequences and then change it the next few posts down the line. This is called 100% deception. Worst still it is sin, which needs to be repented of. It is also a sign of the spirit that is in you. I have no clue why you are so lost and derive such a mission to bring this junk to the christian church, but God is not going to help or save you.

What happens to you when the emotional plug is pulled? You are blasting your whole foundation away. A nervous breakdown or collapse. And if you think I am hard wait till you meet the Lord. You talk forgiveness and grace, but there is just deception and license with the gospel which means there is nothing left, literally.

Ok good, I hope to hear more of those imperatives found in Eph 6...

'Be strong,' ( In the Lord )
'Take unto you the whole armor' ( It's His armor that we are in )
'Stand therefore' ( again stand in the Lord )

as well as the rest... ( all the rest are in the Lord ) It is all Christ my friend! ..and we are one with Him....

Too many use 1 John 3:9, and 1 John 5:18, as tools to bludgeon Christians into believing they have to live sinlessly or they are not actual believers. They have absolutely no understanding of the two natures. The flesh, and the nature of Christ in us.

God judges us on the basis of the new nature only. Christ's nature; His holiness/righteousness in us, cannot sin. That's why God says He does not even remember our transgressions, and looks upon us as sinless, because Christ is sinless.

Because Christ is in us, and we in Christ, we are as holy and sinless in the eyes of God as Christ is. That's why we can never be judged, that's why we can never be condemned, and that's why we can never be lost - despite what our flesh does!

Your best is not good enough if you are depending on your works to keep you in right standing with God.
Well I certainly understand that a sinful lifestyle is not going to keep me in a right standing with God either. :)

Amen..spoken like a man who knows what Christ has done for him and who you are now in Christ.....I think that puts you into the neo-gnostic look-alike club....it's all good though brother!

If Christ is in a person, then they have already been judged and found not guilty by God, because Jesus was judged, took all of our sin, and paid the penalty completely.

It is finished. The blood is enough. It covers all of our sin - past, present, and future.

Stop trying to earn what you cannot possibly pay for.

That's true, but a sinful lifestyle by those who say. "Lord, Lord", can take all of that away.

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many miracles in your name?’ And then I will say to them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matthew 7:21-23

All true. But the scripture is speaking of the unsaved.

If you want to take that route, then by your own admission, you are a sinner, and 1 John 3:9, 5:18 condemns you as lost. It's the logical conclusion. Those verses say believers do not sin - you sin - thus, you are not a believer.

1 Corinthians 6:10-11 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

2 different identities now....

*sigh*

It's talking about those who rely on their good works to earn a place in heaven! Do you even read what you post? It's exactly what I'm talking about - those who say you have to "do" are the very ones Christ is condemning!

They are not relying on His blood, they are relying on their own performance!

Notice that in Matt 7:19-23..Jesus said "I never knew you "...these people were not believers.....everyone when they see Jesus will call Him Lord.....

John 10:14 (KJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

Jesus did the "will of God"...and delivered us from this present evil world

Galatians 1:4 (KJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

It is God in us that gives us the will and the ability to do His will.

Philippians 2:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

The Will of the Father is to believe on Jesus.

1 John 3:23-24 (NASB)
[SUP]23 [/SUP] This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.
[SUP]24 [/SUP] The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

The good works we do are from "being in Christ"..being lead by the Holy Spirit. Notice God has prepared them for us. we walk them out as we life our lives dependent on Him.

Ephesians 2:8-10 (NASB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
[SUP]9 [/SUP] not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
