So all your saying is that "your" sin is different ...but your teaching another standard for others ... "Blessed is the man in who the Lord will not impute sin" is the only acceptable biblical standard and the only standard that makes folks justified before God.

Why must you take and twist and state things on others they never said ???

Nobodies sin is different then another's, if you or I went out and murdered somebody tomorrow and got caught we would both face the same consequence of prison time and the possibility of death !!!

Then you use a scripture that refers to repented and confessed sins, those are the sins that will not be imputed on us !!!

If you don't repent then those sins you do you will still be held accountable for !!!

Again Jesus clearly says to the man if he continues to sin a worse thing will come to him, and that applies to everybody:

1) If you commit certain sins there are earthly consequences to face, and a need to repent *

2) If you continue to live habitual sinful lifestyles then there is an eternal consequence waiting for these people

* If there is no repentance in the situation of this example 1 then the consequence can be the same as situation number 2, because no repentance shows no godly remorse !!!

This argument makes no sense to me. Both sides make no sense in much of the arguments. Then I see people on the same side battling each other. Then battling the opposing view. Then battling those with an opposing view who are battling those on their own side. Does anyone even know the view they are trying to present? This is all so confusing.

Okay, but do you suppose this thief needed sanctification? Yes, we all do. Did he receive it? No, because the opportunity didn't present itself.

Though for us the opportunity does present itself, it is not the means by which we are saved, or maintained in our salvation. You would agree, yes? So the problem is the judgemental perspective a person takes in being a fruit inspector deciding and pronouncing judgement that someone else isn't of the faith. Yet, such a person does not know if that person is just on their process of sanctification and the Lord hasn't worked in that area of their life yet.

I see it a lot here. The disagreement comes down to sanctification, how it happens, when it happens, and the necessity for it in our salvation. All these questions considered, somehow certain individuals seem to think that fruit inspection is the end all be all. However, this becomes problematic because we are all being sanctified in our own personal walks with the Lord. Examine yourself, and let them examine themselves.

Yes he did receive sanctification, what makes you think he didn't ???

Do you think it takes a time period to receive sanctification, that would not be the case as when the man died being completely forgiven at that point would have made him completely sanctified and justified as well.

The reason it does not seem that way with those who continue on living is because that sanctification has to be seen as a active position of not continuing in deliberate sinful lifestyles.

There was no need for this to be seen with the thief because he did not live on to live out his life for Christ thus he was fully sanctified at that point !!!

That's just your opinion based on the error of legalism...and you clearly make excuses for your own sin by using terms like "habitual" ...(you have a "habit" of sinning according to your own testimony)...while trying to condemn others by a standard you do not keep...is hypocrisy a sin that you must repent of , to be forgiven?

"I don't sin as much as so and so"...is not a biblical standard that is taught in the Old or New Testament ...that is called hypocrisy in both covenants.

Kenneth, had that man/the thief got off that cross somehow and was set free from his punishment do you think he still had character flaws the Lord needed to work out?

Great is the mystery of godliness...and we have folks in the flesh trying to understand spiritual things...

There you go with your standard lying and bearing false witness on others, and it saddens me that one like Willie-T or anybody who claims to be a Christian would agree with false accusations !!!

I don't make excuses for my sins at all, but I acknowledge them and deal with them as the bible says we would...

Those who excuse their sins are the ones who believe they have no need to repent of them...........

!!! CAUTION WARNING !!!

The bible nowhere teaches a one time repentance !!!

your wrong and because your in the flesh you cannot understand the truth in the Spirit...

Heb 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

He probably would have, but that again in no way says that he could have remained living a life as a thief.........

The Holy Spirit works in and through us to overcome every single sinful way in our lives, some however do not see this because they either are miss lead or don't put their full faith and trust in the Lord !!!

This is what I am trying to get accrossed because it seems as though just because we have areas we still need to work on in our lives (Holy Spirit will help with), that some excuse this to think we can just continue in those faults.

That is in no way what the Word of God teaches, that is a defeated mindset to think well I can't stop them any way so might as well not try. There is no victory in Christ in thinking that way !!!

Try again this does not teach a one time repentance !!!

This is talking about Jesus sacrifice being enough for all time, and no other sacrifice needed. Not referring to repentance !!!

You cannot teach a carnal person spiritual truth ... You cannot teach someone under law the security of grace ..unless God grants them repentance from their dead works.

Reactions: Grandpa
and that leads us to...Myth 1: Hyper-Grace Preachers are Against Repentance

Hyper-grace preachers say there’s no need for repentance. They dismiss repentance as unbelief.” Actually, hyper-grace preachers are for repentance, not against it. We say things like “repentance is essential” and “repentance is to be our lifestyle.” We are for repentance, for without it no one can receive the grace of God
.
But what is repentance?

Repentance is one of those words that means different things to different people. Those with a performance-oriented mindset typically interpret repentance as turning from sin. It’s something you do (turn) as a result of something you’ve done (sinned). It’s fixing what you broke. It’s atoning for your mistakes. It’s sewing fig leaves to hide your shame.

In contrast, faith-based repentance is always done in response to something God has done. It’s the change of heart and mind that happens when you encounter His grace.

A mixed-grace gospel will define repentance in terms of a prescribed set of behaviors (e.g., turning from sin) and emotions (e.g., sorrow and grief). But insisting on the proper way to repent is tantamount to putting people under law.

It's confusing because one side of the discussion is filled with false characterizations. For example, this is not a discussion of basic works vs. grace as the hyper grace crowd portrays it, but one of lawfulness vs. freedom from any kind of commandment or law, which they characterize as religion. They will poo poo this, of course, but their whole spiel is about not doing anything, and letting GOD do everything, and then calling this grace because to be required to do anything is condemnation of law to them. This is where the other aspect of lawlessness enters because any deviation from what scripture says is lawlessness, and scripture abundantly witnesses that we are to do things.
