This proves how nieve we were about fighting the Vietcong. If you ever meet anyone that was at la Dang, hug them and hug them. :(

I still have a picture of the jump towers we trained on. (Actually, there were only three left then... the 4th was lost in a hurricane in '54, I believe it was.)

I was just wondering.... Has anyone mentioned the one song that IS Woodstock?

I won't say it, so people can speculate.

You've gotta be talking about Crosby Stills Nash and Young. We are stardust. We are golden. We are billion year old carbon. And we've got to get ourselves back to the garden.

Not mentioned yet. But, it was originally a Joan Baez song. (Personally, I don't care for it, but it was sort of adopted as the Woodstock Anthem.)

Boy I don't want my husband to see this post, he detests Joan Baez and Jane Fonda. If you want to get him in a fighten mood just mention one or other of their names!

I apologize to overthechill. He got it. I don't know where my head was. (maybe it's because he posted just before mine that I missed it.)It was CSNY's version of Joni Mitchel's song. I guess I had Joan Baez on my mind. At least your husband can look at this, *IS*.

Sorry for the run-around.

I have that albumn, it's really good.

I absolutely loved Linda Ronstadt's voice. Bless her heart she has Parkinson's now. :(

no worries. I guessed! Speaking of Joni mitchell, she and Graham Nash were a couple for a long time and my favorite song was inspired by a very natural occurrence only in a very unnatural way for a couple like Nash and Mitchell. They went antiquing of all things and Joni found a vase which was love at first site for her. They bought it and took it back to the house they bought in LA. Nash said he was going to build a fire while she put some flowers in her new vase and it immediately struck him just how mundane and ordinary a thing they were doing inside a lifetime of a less than mundane life. Later on that night he wrote this:
