I will give you this last post...and then you can go start one and people can join in there....this is my last post on this subject until you start a thread on it..
If your leader says to you.."Let's pray for brother so and so's mother.."..could you with an act of your will do that?
the answer is yes..of course...so the whole congregation if they all had a voice that works..they could all at once speak out and pray..right?
So ..with that in mind...let's say your pastor says..."there is something going on with my mother-in-law but I don't know how we should pray...let's pray in the spirit and get the Lord's mind on it.. "..they could all pray in tongues together with an act of their will..they very same as using their minds in the other example.
We can use the very same example for singing.. we can sing with our minds and sing with our spirit too...
here's the scripture....we can engage our will to pray either with our spirit or with our mind...and do the same for singing..
1 Corinthians 14:14-15 (NASB)
[SUP]
14 [/SUP] For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful.
[SUP]
15 [/SUP] What is
the outcome then?
I will pray with
the spirit and
I will pray with the mind als
o; I will sing with
the spirit and
I will sing with
the mind also.
It states it is wrong in any circumstance without an interpreter !!!
Nowhere does the bible allow speaking in tongue's openly without and interpreter, and it had nothing to do with causing chaos why an interpreter is needed in all cases.
It was not to cause a stumbling block to others who do not speak in the tongue, because if you for example have a new person come to your church and they see every body there start speaking in tongues with nobody interpreting. Then those people might thank this is crazy and not want to return.
