This message will be hard for many Christians to agree with. Not me. I've seen Jesus come to my rescue and save me from perilous times. The reason He was not there for me in my times of need was because I didn't believe back then. He was there but I did not believe He was. I looked around instead at the people in the world and the suffering and knew those people were much better than me. They had purpose and worth and yet their lives were a mess by no fault of their own., they were dealing with loss, illness, and even on the verge of death.

But in the face of all that reality., God tells us to look to His Word and read, have faith and believe......

Amen! I heard a statement one time that has stuck with me. I also knew about it in my spirit but sometimes our un-renewed minds get in the way of understanding spiritual things. Here is what I heard and I still process the truth of this every day as I grow to know our Lord.

Until we trust the Father and the finished work of the Lord Jesus on our behalf - until we trust in them completely to care for us, we will constantly use other people around us and rely on ourselves to meet our needs.

Buried in this verse is a lie

"Jesus gave you a blood-bought right to an abundant life full of meaning and purpose! He gave you a blood-bought right to walk in divine health all the days of your life! He gave you a blood-bought right to His supply even when the economy goes down!"

Paul is saying nothing can separate us from the love of God. Even if we are killed, have no money, have no health, have no friends, are abandoned and alone, washed up in the eyes of the world, we are in Christ, God love us and we love Him.

What you see here is the doctrine of demons, the promise of hell, a wealth and health plan delivered by satan himself.

If you bow to this health plan you bow to the enemy. When Jesus was tempted three things were said
1. Turn these rocks in bread
2. If you hurt yourself God will send angels to save you
3. If you bow down a worship me, I will give you the wealth of nations.

And Jesus answer
1. Man does not live by bread alone but by ever word the proceeds from the mouth of God.
2. Do not test the Lord your God.
3. Thou shalt worship God alone.

Too long have people listened to seduction and lies wrapped up in christian words. If you want to believe spiritual power above the Kingdom of God and love from the heart, your way to hell will be paved with gold.

I like this post, but the reality is the world is against us, ISIS is against us. Christians get killed, slaughtered, persecuted all the time. The body of Christ is never promised wealth, health, and prosperity here on this earth. The absence of health, the absence of wealth is not an indicator of spirituality or one's faith. I'm not promised to be rescued in this earthly life. I've got Christ. I am justified. I am glorified. It has been determined that I will be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. What shall we say then to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Yea, and all that will live godlly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

What does that have to do with grace? GOD promised to protect Israel and provide their needs if they were obedient to the law.

You sir need to follow Jesus.
God brings judgement and death on this world. His will is that those who can will be saved, their hearts transformed to hearts of loving individuals reaching out to others empowered and freed by christ.

Whether that is in sickness or health, in poverty or wealth is irrelevant. But a demon would preach, oh without health and wealth how can you say God loves you, he would be unloving not to give you all these things that corrupt and distort the soul.

Look around you, there is no lack of health and wealth but it has helped no one. Instead pornography, violence, abuse, exploitation, corruption, lying, cheating, sexual immorality is rampant, destroying families and homes. The common experience of most families is now divorce, split families, emnity between people and greed. And you think out of this world purity, righteousness and love is going to spring like a flame.

No what is springing is new age spiritualism, where anything goes and you dare not hold to any morals at all.

So you sir, do not understand the gospel at all, or know Christs love working in your soul or you would not condemn the very words of God.

I agree...standing in Christ is paramount. Some places have been granted "peace" in order to help spread the gospel around the world. Some times in history some have died defending the faith...other times the Lord has granted peace to a nation. They go hand in hand.

The world is definitely against us and always will be. Our Father wants peace for us in this life but sometimes the sword comes. It's not a matter of either or...it's a matter of what comes to us. Sometimes we will die for our faith. Sometimes we will "live" in our faith in peace....there are times and seasons for both it seems...

Thy kingdom come Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Ah yes. The Lord's Prayer. Very important instructions for all of us to live by.

And [Jesus] said to [his disciples], “When you pray, say, “Father, may your name be treated as holy. May your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation.” Luke 11:2-4

1 Corinthians 4:9-14, [SUP]"9 [/SUP]For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men. [SUP]10 [/SUP]We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace; [SUP]12 [/SUP]And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: [SUP]13 [/SUP]Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day. [SUP]14 [/SUP]I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you."

Paul is giving the believers at Corinth a warning about not equating spirituality with material wealth, popularity or even good health. The believers at Corinth were under the delusion that they were well off because of God's blessing. Don't get caught up in this material trap. There's nothing wrong with being wealthy, but don't equate the blessings of God with being right with God. All God's blessing on my life are spiritual blessings given to me on the sole merit of Jesus Christ.

Look at the apostles lives as an example. They are a spectacle to the world.

what a great thread!!!!unfortunately some people cannot stand to hear that GOD IS for us, instead all they can do is nitpick and condemn because they trust in themselves, thier works and traditions, not Jesus.

Never positive, never building up but always tearing down.

If a man living in a mud hut in Sudan get's saved, money, popularity, and good health are not going to start flowing through his doors. He is poor when he got saved and will likely be poor when he dies. But he's got the hope of moving into a mansion one day. He's got the hope of walking on the streets of gold one day. He's got the hope of eternal life with the Lord Jesus Christ.

I agree....I don't think anyone should think they are better then anyone else because they are healthy...or whatever...it is not equating spirituality with material things when our Father gives us things. He is not opposed to having things..He is opposed to "things" having His children.

The apostles lived in a time when there was severe opposition to the gospel.....and it has been that way in some other times in history and it is in some places on this earth now....and it will be most likely for everyone in the future.

The aim is to know our Father and trust in Him. We are greatly blessed in our Lord in all things......there will come a time when we will really need to know and trust in Him.....the circumstances of life come to all of us and not of us are going to float through life on a flowery bed of ease.....we live in a fallen world.

So, God cannot help this man in the Sudan?......if that is what he hears.....then you are right..God cannot help him..he will just have to live his own life living by his own hands and wait for the sweet by and by to come...faith comes by hearing.

......God does bless us to be a blessing to others..

Agreed, it just drives me crazy (no pun intended) when someone gets a new car and then follows that up with #blessedbyGod.

I know what you mean...they could think..I'm more "spiritual" then you when they get a new car.....and we know that's a baby Christian acting like that...but the fact still remains God is for His children and He is not against blessing them...there are both sides to that coin....we just need to grow up in all areas...and trust God to bless us so that we can bless others..

His children should always call out to Him for provision, for health. We should call out to Him in hard times and in times of plenty. Prayer is believing that our God hears us, and because He hears us, He has all authority to act if He so chooses. But we have to understand our real blessings guaranteed us are spiritual blessings kept in store in the heavenly places.
