No where in Scripture has the Lord promised physical blessings to the body of Christ. I pray expecting, but I'm not clinging to some promise He made in His word. The blessings I am promised are "spiritual blessings in the heavenly places."

By His stripes we are healed.

this is a false god. the real God so LOVED the WORLD that he sent his Son to die for the sins of the world. so that who BELIEVES has life, and then good works outflow from that. THAT is the God I follow. yours??? don't know him, don't want to.

What I put to you was Jesus. I follow the Lord who loves me and died for me. He has blessed me with my needs and those of my family, I have prospered and in some things failed. But in all things I praise the Lord.
I am saved because of the cross and my faith in His love is secure. I am not proving anything.

I flagged up some spiritual failures, some issues of doctrine, some ideas about holiness and righteousness.
You then made me your enemy and said the God of love I follow is not God and you do not know Him.
I pray for you to learn of real grace and real love irrespective of provision or blessing. If this was all stripped away from you would you be able to say

Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.
Job 1:21

I have and I will do again.

Because of your judgmentalism against me I doubt you know my Lord. For when I came to Him he did not turn me away but blessed me with eternal life and opened up my heart of love. I call you to follow Him and get that healing your heart sorely needs.

What struck me recently was Jesus saying "Your sins are forgiven" then "Take up your mat and walk"

The miracle of healing was only a sign of the authority to forgive sins. Many have taken the idea of miracles and removed it from forgiving sin and put it on self indulgence, having a good time, going to church for entertainment. It is so funny, you now get holy laughter.

It has not struck anyone that God is not mocked. He is quite capable of sending a spirit of confusion and deception upon those who wish to follow whatever comes their way, as long as it feels good.

God wants a holy, righteous people who are not deceived and who know who they have followed. Do people think he is happy with a crowd of easy pleasers who follow any deceiving spirit for financial gain. If you had eternal authority to hand over to anyone, would you hand it over to people like that? So why would God, when even as humans we can see this is sinful behaviour?

Yes that is very dangerous to only look if it feels good and not test anything. I believe you will see 2 movements: one from God where healings and miracles happen and a false one, because the antichrist also comes with miracles to try to deceive the elect. Well then that won't be a simple Christ denying scorcerer from which it's obvious that it's false. A lot would say we did so many miracles in Your Name, but He never knew them. Still I believe He wants to heal and we are to do greater works than He did. Not in all cases if someone got healed it was because of sin, like that man born blind. It's a sign for the unbelievers. But if someone lives in blatant sin and miracles happen I wonder if it is from God. Faith works through Love. We had many healings happen in our church. Yet when we were in hate and sin and about to divorce nothing happened anymore. You see someone else having an affair and still fantastic miracles happen. I don't trust it. Just look at the fruit.

God brings judgement and death on this world. His will is that those who can will be saved, their hearts transformed to hearts of loving individuals reaching out to others empowered and freed by christ.

Whether that is in sickness or health, in poverty or wealth is irrelevant. But a demon would preach, oh without health and wealth how can you say God loves you, he would be unloving not to give you all these things that corrupt and distort the soul.

Look around you, there is no lack of health and wealth but it has helped no one. Instead pornography, violence, abuse, exploitation, corruption, lying, cheating, sexual immorality is rampant, destroying families and homes. The common experience of most families is now divorce, split families, emnity between people and greed. And you think out of this world purity, righteousness and love is going to spring like a flame.

No what is springing is new age spiritualism, where anything goes and you dare not hold to any morals at all.

So you sir, do not understand the gospel at all, or know Christs love working in your soul or you would not condemn the very words of God.

Being a simple minded creature, I live by the words of Jesus, "Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it". (Luke 18:17).

Now this means that I don't listen to words like "this is for now, this is not, this means, that means, definitions of this and that".

I read the bible, and very simply trust what it says. Many times my childish faith has believed something that more intellectual and 'wise' people disagree with. Because of that I have seen hundreds of miracles around me, supernatural healing in my body and those around me, been aware of angels around me, and have such a taste of the kingdom of God here and now.

That is why the simple title of this thread caught my attention "God is for you, not against you". How beautiful just those words are. Yet the thread digressed from the simplicity and beautiful expression of this love of God for all of us.

He gave you a blood-bought right to walk in divine health all the days of your life! He gave you a blood-bought right to His supply even when the economy goes down!

You have all these things not because you deserve them, but because Jesus shed His blood and gave you the right to have them. All these blessings are yourstoday because God is for you! And if God is for you, who can be against you!

All these things are ours today but the guarantee to fully enjoy them comes when we receive our newly redeemed bodies. They are not guaranteed until then.

There is a massive difference between "wanting" to be rich and "being rich".....those that are poor fall into this category as well..it is not the money people..it's the "money" having them..the Lord is not against His children having "things"..He is against "things" having His children..

This foolish poverty mentality being pawned off as being "spiritual" is just as bad as the hucksters "wanting to be rich "..there is no difference between them ..except one is more religious sounding...

Christ is our treasure!

I like this post, but the reality is the world is against us, ISIS is against us. Christians get killed, slaughtered, persecuted all the time. The body of Christ is never promised wealth, health, and prosperity here on this earth. The absence of health, the absence of wealth is not an indicator of spirituality or one's faith. I'm not promised to be rescued in this earthly life. I've got Christ. I am justified. I am glorified. It has been determined that I will be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. What shall we say then to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Yea, and all that will live godlly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Our son is being treated for brain and spine cancer. He's #5 of 7 children, so it's a pretty crazy time for us.

Here's how we look at the situation and how we've been led to proceed:

We believe that God can and does heal people every day. We know that people die from sickness and injuries every day. We know that God often uses doctors to heal people (we were led to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital) - and often goes where medicine cannot. And we are praying, as are so many others, that God will heal our son.

We have all heard, "We'll pray that God's will be done", and I thought about the passages that talk about God's will for us in Christ and looked them up and it's really interesting. In the Scriptures after the Cross God's will is:

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (from 1 Thessalonians 5)


40 " For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
( - Jesus, from John 6)



9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (from 2 Peter 3)

God's will is that we know Him. Our son knows God and God knows our son - our son believes in Jesus and His Work on our behalf, so God's will has already been done in our son's life. Our prayer is of course that our son's life would be nice and long, but if it isn't, God is still good, and God is still faithful. And after life is lived, long or short, we have this promise:

"[He] I will raise him up on the last day."

So we pray - confident in a God Who can and does heal - yet choosing to trust Him, no matter the outcome.

Through this journey we're on, God has provided for ALL of our needs through His Body. We are so thankful for those who are willing to be the hands and feet of God and are loving and serving us well during this time.
