Do you know what truly inspires children to "learn" from a classroom teacher? It is when the student finds in a certain teacher whatever it is (emotionally) that is either nonexistent in their home environment, or they cannot feel it there.

I had one good teacher in High School... I always did just enough to pass..but this guy demanded with a quite confidence that when you came to his class you was going to learn the subject... I did better than all the strait A folks in the class. At the time I didn't see the difference ..but now I understand the will of the teacher to teach has to be stronger than the students desire to goof-off or just get by.

And also, there might have been something about him that triggered a "respect and admiration" response in you.

For about eight years, my wife was a supervisor for a tutoring company. Before our state started demanding "licensed" teachers, she hired quite a few grandmotherly types.

The elementary students excelled! Especially the younger ones.

After she was forced to replace the old ladies with "qualified" teachers, the academic levels dropped dramatically to just barely the norm across the state of Florida. Although the licensed teachers were armed with the latest and greatest in teaching skills and tools, the students were no longer receiving what they REALLY needed to be inspired to WANT to learn. And that was the desire to please a nurturing Mother Figure.

I did answer ...a student that cannot read or write English (as 30% of inner city kids)...need to learn to read and write English... Its insane to force these kids to take Spanish or any other language ..when they cant read or write.
Apparently, it is you who's having a hard time with English right now. The simple question is do you think that they would be doing better in English if they were taking an art class or a band class or any other class instead of a foreign language class. A simple yes or no will do.

Its prejudice to say that the lounge should only be
Actually Molly started with me. In fact she's the only one who spoke Spanish in this thread that i Didn't put on ignore.

And it's not prejudice, because IT'S IN THE POSTED RULES. So i suppose the site owner is prejudice because of his English language based? And for posting rules stating that English should be the primary language spoken in all areas of the site, except ones specified otherwise?

Actually it's considered RUDE for people to purposefully speak a language in front of others that no one else can understand. That's been considered rude as long as i can remember. And if they are taking over the main room, or even taking half the room up, with rude behavior that breaks the rules, it's not prejudice to take issue with that.

As the Former Admin posted in this thread, they should take it to PM or go to an empty room.

So we have your ridiculous finger pointing accusations, there's my line of facts. Have anything else to add... that isn't based on fiction, like your previous post.

Why would I call this site prejudiced? You misunderstood me, I was refering to you. In my eyes this site has gone to great lengths to promote unity and fellowship including being considerate of all languages and races as there are different forums and chat rooms for ethnic groups and languages. I wasnt accusing , youre the one accusing most of us are highly "annoyed" that you insist on your way is the only way . The site owner and his family are I 'think' fillipino they may even post in the fillipino forums clearly there is give and take in the lounge tht has been allowed even when the rules state english only they couldnt have many chat rooms devoted to many languages there would be too many.

Heaven will be full of people who speak different languages so it isnt rude to speak another language in front of you.
What evidence is there there taking over you only feel uncomfortable doesnt mean their taking over.

Whats with spanish speakers? Your from the usa you should be more considerate of spanish speakers they are your countrymen.

I quoted the Sites Rules. Get that? The rules that the owner of this site put into place. This is not a matter of my opinion alone. It is the rules put into place by the creator and maintainer of this site. Not sure how me wishing people to abide by the sites rules makes me prejudice. That doesn't make it 'my way', that makes it the site owners way. So yes, if you think i'm being prejudice for wanting the rules to be followed that are posted, then obviously the rules themselves, and the person who promote them must be prejudice. My request is that the posted rules are upheld and followed. How is that prejudice?

What evidence? How about when half or all of the room is in a language i don't understand? It's not rocket science to figure that out.

Heaven will be full of people that speak different languages? What bible are you reading?
And even if that were true, this isn't heaven.

noun

noun: prejudice; plural noun: prejudices
1.
preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience.
Yeah, i lived in S FL and S CA, both with heavy hispanic populations. So clearly i have plenty of experience.
I have no problem with people of spanish origins.
So i'd love to know how exactly i am prejudice. I have not spoken anything bad against hispanics. I stated that when the room is taken over by a language i can't understand, which is against the posted rules, that the rules should be enforced. What part of that makes me prejudice?

I see you have yet another post of fiction.

I like going to the Mexican restaurants near my home and saying Como estas amigos and no matter how many times I go there and say it, I still get a face from them that looks like they are thinking, "what is this gringo talking about," However, they always end up smiling and saying "how are you?"

Here is your problem. .. I answer questions as I like. And the facts are that many kids being forced to take Spanish can't read or right English at a 3rd grade level... its just PC insanity to think they are begin helped by learning to hello in Spanish. Spanish is fine for those who want to learn it and can read and write English. But there is no great benefit to learning Spanish.

In other words you don't answer questions that hurt the point you're trying to make. That isn't in fact my problem, it's yours. I'm just bringing attention to it.

BTW I highlighted a few little corrections to your WRITING.

Why would a holy spirit filled disciple of CHRIST live in a chatroom and choose UGLY as a screen name? Think about it. Sounds more like a self inflicted low self esteemed situation that needs a powerful touch of the Holy Spirit to lift them out of the UGLY into the beautiful abundant life that JESUS proposes to those who do not want to stay ugly. Sorry, but when you 'put it out there'..expect a few rebuttals. I would love to be your prayer partner and we can grow spiritually together.

No I don't answer questions that are not related to the point im trying to make ... and as far as any error in my writing? Its because the progressive nonsense going on in the public schools ...which also makes my point. :)

Its silly to be teaching Spanish in public schools to children who need a proper English based education.

So, someone not particularly proficient in English writing should be taken as an expert on what does or doesn't work when teaching children English?

Yes ...I have suffered at the hands of these insane public schools trying to promote progressive nonsense... Thankfully by God Grace, I have overcome the burden and have the ability to succeed apart from a good education :)
