Blain, you are a young sensitive man. There are some serious hard ass people who have gone through a lot.
The problem is religion gets the steamer going, and putting it right is the mission of quite a few.

So no, you just have to put up with this confused crazy world, because until Jesus returns, many will say, I know Jesus and you have a demon, and I am just not going to let that terrible evil get away. That is what Saul did, and funnily the only people I know who are hauling this flag now are actually "hyper-grace" people which is ironic.
Grace777 is one in here that people have labeled "hyper grace." But I have seen none of these things. I have seen very consistent fruit of the Spirit in Him. I have never seen him speak in a manner that spits in his Lord's face. You can think he has some wrong ideas about God if you want, (and we all do have some wrong ideas about God, which is what having our minds renewed is about) but you cannot fail to see the fruit of patience, kindness, gentleness, refusing to revile when reviled, etc.

You will know them by their fruits. Period.

I've only been here a few days, and what I've seen s far from people is abhorrent and deplorable. There is much worse behavior from people on these forums...CHRISTIAN forums, then I have seen on many other forums. Secular, atheist forums have more polite, more friendly exchanges than what I have seen on these forums right here.

Oh, but don't call anyone out on it because you'll see their fangs come out.

I'm not a Christian and I make no secret of that fact. I'm trying to decide if it's the right choice for me. If becoming a Christian means being haughty and arguing with my fellow Christians while throwing verses of scripture around to make my point for me, while cementing myself in a very narrow box of doctrine...then maybe I don't want to become a Christian.

I was under the mistaken impression that Christians were supposed to act as "Christ-like" as they can, but it appears that a whole lot of them act like petulant children who need a spanking and sent to their room without supper.
You were not under a mistaken impression. What you are seeing is people saying they are walking in the Spirit when they are doing no such thing.

And why do you think that is? Could it be that so very many of you "good Christians" don't act anything like the man you claim to love, and your behavior puts serious doubts into the minds of people like me who have had lifelong questions about God, but have found the biggest barrier to their faith to be the "believers" that are so radical in their methodology of evangelizing that were any of them to knock on my door to deliver the "good news", they'd be met with the business end of my Remington 870 and told to vacate immediately from my premises.

I'd dearly love to sit down and talk to a real Christian. I'm still waiting to meet one.
I would like to talk to you. I am not theologically trained in any way and I have no denomination or doctrine to defend. I will be honored to talk with you!

I always did that when my boys had a fight. The small one would go nag the oldest and he'd go furious and then I said: Go give your little brother a kiss. Noooo!!!! He started!!!! He's annoying!
Eh I said go give him a kiss. He wants your attention. Then he'd go chase him. I don't want kisses! You're getting them anyway.
Guess those things don't work with adults on forums LOL.

These kinds of posts pop up every so often. No one ever stops. And half the time the thread itself spawns arguments. This is how the people in the BDF are. It's not going to change because of a post.
True. It will never end until we believe what God has said and insist on walking in the Spirit, in love, toward all. But we keep insisting on our might. Not by might, but by My Spirit!

;)Can I get an example of kissy wissy please?
Yes you may! Here is an example!
Sydlit, I do not understand why you wear pants on your head. I don't think it's very freeing and I worry about your being able to breathe and see more light. While I don't agree with it, I clearly see fruit in you in your patience and love when you are reviled or cursed or accused. And i see such humbleness in you also, another fruit. And i see these fruits in an overall consistency. These fruits of the Spirit are unmistakable, and by them, I know you are my brother. I have never seen you attack or be spiteful in any way.

They can't really win, tho. They might seem to get little victories from time to time, but they're short-lived. Remember, Jesus has already won, and gives us the victory, and we run the race with endurance.....even when it seems like we're left in the dust, the Lord will keep leading us home. It's not a sprint, but a marathon, and sometimes a relay within a marathon.....the passing of the baton is like us lifting each other up along the way, similar to what you did for me recently, God bless you so much. It's a blessing to pass the baton back and forth with you, and our true brosters in the faith, who I've needed much lately, and by prayer and the Word, building each other up in the faith, what a joy when we cross the finish line in our own time, by God's grace, or maybe one day soon.....all together, the enemy being left behind for good and the love that never fails will be the crowning glory.....because Jesus already conquered sin, the enemy, and death. Hallelujah!
This that you are praising God for, this unity amongst a few of us, would never have occurred unless one person insisted on love, then another, then another. To reject the hatred and name calling and those who think the correct way to find unity in our Lord is through following doctrine rather than sniffing out lovely fruit and following after it because we know we are smelling our beautiful Lord on someone's robe, is how we have come to this unity that is so refreshing it brings tears to our eyes.

I agree with you.....I would not want a non-Christian to come into this BDF forum and see what happens in here...

The "ignore" button functions quite well in here...that's part of a solution...guard your heart......don't respond back to the insults....watch what we let our eyes see...!

1 Corinthians 15:33-34 (NASB)
[SUP]33 [/SUP] Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals."
[SUP]34 [/SUP] Become sober-minded as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

This thread, like many others Willie-T, is indeed deliberate..... And yes, you are correct about painting a picture purposely to turn people away from God.

And HRFTD, I believe you are also correct about the predictability of the threads as well.....

In fact, the majority of the BDF threads are purposely written, some would say, like a script. Over time, some leave, only to be replaced by others who do the exact same thing.

What is my evidence to confirm such a thing? Reruns of the same arguments? The same people participating in these arguments? What about the constant twisting of scripture?

No, none of these is needed. I want to draw your attention, dear reader, to the ONE THING that's never been covered in this forum:

THE LACK OF DISCIPLINE & ORDER.

It's true that atheist forums are far better with their threads..... because their management wouldn't let ANY poster, for or against an issue, act so disorderly in the first place. When such arguments happen on their sites, they just ban everyone who likes to start trouble, period.

People SAY you can't control a forum like you do a church..... but the opposite is true. One person makes the rules, & their moderators enforce it.

A site like this can be locked down if it's owner so desires, or turn its participants loose to do & say whatever they want.

So, my question is, no matter who is right or wrong in their doctrine, WHY is such insolent & ungodly behavior not kicked right out the door? This is a huge problem, & it's growing. Who's going to stop it?

The ONE thing most of the BDF posters AND members in other forums will agree on is this: the BDF forum is messed up from the floor up. This forum, above all others, should be the most godly, because some of the most mature christians should be in here leading others closer to God by discussing proper doctrine to them. THIS forum should be the most serious of them all, because we should be building up the brethren in their faith through the Word.

In a nutshell, dear reader, the problem isn't what's going on in here, but why it's allowed to happen. Isn't this the problem in many churches today, their leadership allowing sin in them?

It does work! Our Lord chased us down with love! But the moment we stop abiding in Him and get our feet dirty by taking out our sword and slashing off someone's ear because they slashed off ours, instead of forgiving and continuing to love, we have gone the wrong direction.

Unfortunately fruits are words and deeds. Grace777 is odd. He spreads the hyper-grace propoganda and sits back as if this is a good thing. He refuses to actually answer questions or resolve theology. He is convinced that lawlessness is ok and that their is no morality, yet he follows the morality of scripture. I would say he does not believe in logic or the word of God. So his fruits are the teachers he pushes and their teaching and simply avoids personal contact.

Now if you want to call that the fruit of the spirit, that is your affair, it is just propoganda and not engaging.

Txroads...the BIBLE says "Better is open rebuke than love concealed". It's ok to admit that we CHRISTIANS differ...the BIBLE does not hide anything from us..nothing is swept under the rug..Paul separated from Silas...Peter and Paul faced each other in a public debate....the Apostles got jealous and argued over who was the most favorite disciple of JESUS..the list goes on. We will argue until JESUS returns....the internet only proves what centuries of Christianity has already been. Do you honestly think that by you saying "Everybody stop" that it will?

Not sure what this means. :)
We all know how to tell if someone is walking in the Spirit. We don't see it very often, but we certainly can tell when we do. I mean, unless something we are bitterly clinging to has brought a blindness on us.

It is quite easy to see fruit of the Spirit. It isn't confusing at all.

Nothing wrong with that. I once had one guy on Facebook who deliberately joined to tell everyone they had false teaching. Then a woman was sick and asked prayer and I prayed for her and he got furious, she too, attacked me, I followed false teachings. Just said: oh I thought you were also part of this group that evangelizes and prays for people. Terribly sorry. Won't ever do it again and unfriended him. Problem solved.
Jesus ignored accusing people when He wrote in the sand.
