Did the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ pay for all of your sins or not?

Pretty simple question.

There are far too many people these days who believe there are still things they must do to obtain/keep salvation apart from repentance and faith.

But you cannot claim to believe Jesus died to pay for all of your sins, and then add something (or some "things") to the gospel.

Adding anything to salvation nullifies it. To work for a gift means it was never a gift at all.

Either God gets all of the glory for your salvation, or you do.

You can't have it both ways.
 
Jesus did it all! I trust and rest in His finished work by grace through faith alone. His blood speaks of better things!
 
Usually the stickier question is 'did Jesus forgive all your sins since becoming His?'

Their sins and iniquities I will remember no more. Now where remission of these is there is no more offering for sin, ( Heb 10.17-18)

Amen, Budman...as the old hymn goes.."JESUS paid it ALL, all to HIM I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain, HE washed it white as snow!!!!

Just to be clear, before I "like" your comment............we still must confess, repent of any sins we commit after our salvation right? Or, is that no longer necessary?

And, our faith must be a continual faith, not just a one time thing right?

If God is telling you that He will remember your sins no more and no more sacrifice for sins is necessary, why are you confessing sins in order to obtain forgiveness already granted through Jesus' sacrifice? This isn't an anti-confession stance, but a stance against making Jesus' blood common, or trampling underfoot the Son of God.

If Jesus died for all our sins, then what has been taken care of needs no more sacrifice. Sin confession is equivalent to going back to the temple sacrifices for forgiveness of sins, it is attempting to find forgiveness outside of the simplicity of the Gospel. Faith in Jesus Christ.

This isn't a matter of doubt, or a lack of faith but rather a lack of revelation of what Jesus truly accomplished through His death and resurrection. Sin confession for forgiveness makes void the cross, and religiously puts a barrier in between God and man when Christ has made reconciliation already. This doctrine of sin confession is at odds with the Gospel.

Our faith? It is the faith of Jesus Christ in us. The Lord is faithful to speak to us throughout every day, with every step we take. He is faithfully at work in us, conforming us into His image. He Himself is building us up in His faith.


"Confess" = Recognize and acknowledge

"Repent" = Turn around

"Faith" = Believing Jesus over my own intellect, my emotions, my five senses, my intuition, my pride.

By the Holy Spirit, the Lord Jesus faithfully teaches us to walk in His ways, step by step, and not to rely on our own carnal conclusions. Confessing & repenting is nothing more than a daily acknowledging in our heart that the Lord is always wise and right, and our flesh is always immature and wrong. It's a process of sanctification, growing in the Lord. It is God at work in us.

Example:

Me: "I don't like that person because they're prideful and stubborn."

Holy Spirit: "Love one another."

Me: "Ewwww..... but I truthfully don't even like him, Lord."

Holy Spirit: "I love unconditionally. I died for all. I see the inward man perfectly."

Me: "Oh yes, that is the truth. It's wrong to acknowledge that person by the flesh. I can't love him that way. My flesh is always at enmity with You. I'm sorry for forgetting that, Jesus." (confessed)

Holy Spirit: "Well done, faithful daughter!"

Me: "Oh Lord, thank You for faithfully showing Yourself to me & reminding me how to walk in the truth! I do see that You love that man by Your Spirit! I can truly love him by Your Spirit in me!" (repented)

This is at least 75% of my conversations with the Lord Jesus. :o

Of course Jesus paid for all of our sins. There is no more guilt. No shame. No condemnation. It is now God conforming us into the image of His Son Jesus daily. It is walking with the Light of the World. The Lord gets all the glory. And we get the kingdom of God in us! (Luke 17:21)
 
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.


This is coming to Christ as a child, I think. If we come with our understanding, the 'understanding' of men, then there is always things we must confess or do before we are clean enough or 'worthy' enough to approach the throne of grace.

It is the approaching that cleans us and causes us to be worthy. Being in His Presence.

It seems like the more knowledge we have the harder it is to come to Him. We aren't worthy. We aren't clean. How can we face Him after all we have done, and left un-done?

I have the same thoughts on this as Simon Peter.

John 6:68 [SUP] [/SUP]Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.


The point is He has paid for all of our sins. We just have to come to Him and remember. Boldly. In full faith and assurance.

If your conscience bothers you, confess it and move on into GOD's grace. Otherwise, don't worry about it. Furthermore, there's nothing to do but believe. That has marvelous cleansing power.

did Jesus pay for every sin or what?

If what you are saying is true, God needs our help because he did not pay our sin debt in full.

that is the good news of the gospel.

Confession stops being required, and starts being our desire.. because we are so grateful for what God has given us, We want to do what he desires.

hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]’

14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

....Why then did Jesus give us this prayer that tell us we should pray for forgiveness?

Do you believe that this prayer that Jesus gave us was nullified when He rose again?

No, He shared a true, how can we expect God to forgive us if we are unable to forgive others..

By the way, DO you realize, if forgiving others is a requirement for eternal life. Most people who walked the earth and claim to be Christian will be lost forever.. Because I think we all have someone in our life we have not forgiven..

Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

Keep the faith and walk in victory, and you shall know the crown of eternal life.

Without forgiveness in our hearts we are lost. Anyone who compromises this principle does not know Jesus.
Jesus will never compromise on forgiveness, ever.

He forgives our sin so we can have eternal life, who can we justify a lack of forgiveness about anybody and anything, because nothing compares to the forgiveness Jesus brings.
 
Behind the scenes compromise is dripped. I mean human nature, we will always compromise so just give up and do not speak and walk in righteousness and reality, it does not matter.

Now Jesus came a died to give us eternal life, to solve sin and conquer death. How is now that people start saying, he was really kidding, compromise is ok. No that is how the pharisees walked, in hypocracy.

He said he would remove the lampstand from the church, He never said he would remove anyones salvation.

Are you not one who claims he does not teach one has to earn salvation.. Yet here you go.. proving you teach works again.
