Can you please explain what "every creature under heaven" means? Is this a bad translation? Does it really mean every creature or does it mean every creature in the Roman empire?
You tell me..

Babylon did not rule every creature under heaven, Yet daniel said he did.

So again, You tell me.

Again, Context is what applies here. Paul did not teach the gospel to every creature under heaven, He did not have that ability.. We know where he went, and he never made it to the americas, or the north and south pole. or even to australia.

Hey, Nebuchadnezzar did not either, what a coincidence.

Now are you tlaking about what Jesu said? He made it clear. the gospel will be preached to the whole world. then the end will come..

Has the end came? I guess the Gospel is still spreading then.. As Jesus said it would

Did God so love the world or just the known world at that time under Rome?

When the Bible does not line up with your theology, cry context or Greek.

When Jesus said the whole world in Matt. 24, was He meaning the Roman empire?

“And this Gospel of [the kingdom] shall be preached in all the world
for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Matthew 24:14).

The word end here is not the same as the Greek word used for the end of the age (see verse 3).

Thayer’s Lexicon defines the word end in verse 14 this way: “In the Greek writing,
always the end of some act or state, but not the end of a period of time…

what end is intended the reader must determine by the context.”

When Jesus sent out the disciples and commanded them to go to the uttermost part of the earth, did He literally mean the whole earth or just the known earth at that time? We could go on and on with this...

[h=2]crea·ture[/h] (krē′chər)n.1.a. A living being, especially an animal: land creatures; microscopic creatures in a drop of water.
b. A human.
c. An imaginary or fantastical being: mythological creatures; a creature from outer space.

2. One dependent on or subservient to another.
3. Something created.

The trouble with most of such words that we interpret through English dictionaries is that we are trying to interpret interpretations of words that may, or may not, mean what we think they do from the English we are reading.

The reference to false teachers i believe has to do more with WHO Christ IS rather than WHAT He had DONE.
e.g. 'lo, He is over there' or 'many shall come saying 'I am the Christ'' or shall deny he came in the flesh etc.

Did God so love the world or just the known world at that time under Rome?

dude if your going to ignore context and reason, we are done

Believe what you want.

I will believe what Jesus meant. and what really occurred

So the context of roman 24 was the roman empire?

Please. your not helping your cause at all.

And context would be, the end of the age..

That is what the disciples asked about.

Matt 24:
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

Notice how even the disciles understood. The end of the age, and the return of Christ is not the same, as the destruction of jerusalem. Because they separated when those things would be from the second comming, and end of the age.

The original Hebrew word for “soul” is nephesh.

Bagster’s Analytical Hebrew and Chaldee Lexicon defines it as “breath,”
and “anything that breathes, an animal.” It can also refer to a “person,”
or even “one dead, a dead body.”

In Genesis 1:21, 24; 2:19; 9:10, 12, 15-16 and Leviticus 11:46,

the same word nephesh is translated “creature” when referring to animals.

22All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

- the same “breath of life” also pass through the nostrils of animals, as do humans.
the breath of life that is cut off when a human being or an animal drowns.

So the disciples went to north and south poles. and north and south America? and the hawaii islands and all these other remote places? Did they even go to China or serbia (anyone can help me out here if they want, by shoing me proof they went to ALL These places)

And then I have some more to ask about.

Your not helping your case,, Your destroying it.

We are carrying out the mission of the disciples. to go into all the world. We are not done yet..

Jesus means Savior and Christ means the one that has the spirit of God in them, the anointed or the Elect, and it says that many will come in that name saying that they can save humanity but they are not.

Clearly there's a few working signs

the white collar signs:
falseprophets bad teaching/doctrine, I am Jesus claim etc.,people blindly listening to these things taken heed to them.
all sorts of symbols n signs, statues etc.,hidden devil messages in everything I shouldn't use this soap because it's evil kind of thinking, even if they're true how much weight is in it. people are ever searching for the next one listening and following these beliefs vocal eyecandy propaganda. With solid belief and practice these things shouldn't be relevant though no doubt there are extremist like the jones town tragedy still going on today that people should know.

the blue collar signs:
rivers, seas, land,Sky, ever being polluted torn up, earth animals dying off habitat areas being cut down squeezed depleted by a ever growing pollution around 100million each year that needs more fresh food, fresh water which is all ready a major issue worldwide along with all sorts of Human atrocity around the world to the living, to just simple lack of compassion for life it's self. I heard the other day about a woman n daughter trapped in a flaming car screaming for help while people stood by taking pictures of them on their cell phones lucky another person came along finally helped them, that's appalling. People are fighting/killing people around the world, one day all this I can't see why that won't lead to people eating people for food, hopefully that won't happen a highly unlikely sign it seems.

And context would be, the end of the age..

.

just pointing out the two words do have a little different meaning.

verse 3
G4930
συντέλεια
sunteleia
soon-tel'-i-ah
From G4931; entire completion, that is, consummation (of a dispensation): - end.

verse 14
G5056
τέλος
telos
tel'-os
From a primary word τέλλω tellō (to set out for a definite point or goal); properly the point aimed at as a limit, that is, (by implication) the conclusion of an act or state (termination [literally, figuratively or indefinitely], result [immediate, ultimate or prophetic], purpose); specifically an impost or levy (as paid): - + continual, custom, end (-ing), finally, uttermost. Compare G5411.

I would agree,,

1 is the end of the dispensation, or age (Paul called it in rom 11, the end of the time of the gentile) the other is the end of the end (the return of Christ)

in which all prophesy will be fulfilled.. And chrit will have assumed his rightful throne in the city of david,

Hello, smiling, interesting thread -_-

John146,

Look for further instruction, we do not isolate scripture, but scripture interprets scripture, right. That being said, let us look into the commission(S).

[SUP] [/SUP]These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:[SUP]6 [/SUP]But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

(Note, doesn't say don't go to the Romans or the Greeks. The difference is 'citizens', 'nations' & 'heathen'). Gentiles were not the lost sheep, which is the object, the creature/people, the Messiah was sent too. (Matt 15:24 kjv).

Today, in this dispensation, John146, are we not told God is creating a 'new' creature and are we not called by a gospel of God, which is not the gospel of the kingdom. We have an apostle and he has a commission(1 cor 1:17 kjv), which is different from the commission(S) given to the twelve apostles.

[SUP]15 [/SUP]And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.[SUP]16 [/SUP]He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

[SUP]19 [/SUP]Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

[SUP]47 [/SUP]And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

[SUP]5 [/SUP]And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

John146,

Jesus said He spoke to the world. And scripture says a tax went out, to all the world. The writing style of God is true when understood in it's proper sense.

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.

When Jesus sent out the disciples and commanded them to go to the uttermost part of the earth, did He literally mean the whole earth or just the known earth at that time? We could go on and on with this...
So Jesus has already come back spiritually and this is the new heaven and earth?
