Every time I go into the teen chat room it is empty...are there no other teens on here who use that room?

Not often. Been on this site for years and always hear that the teen room is usually empty. They all want to hang out in the lounge.

Yeah...I guess that's ok too! Besides, everyone can come into the lounge!

I don't usually post in here per forum rules, but just FYI: Nobody can get into the Teens chat room unless they are 13 - 19 (per their profile age). The forum/message boards don't bar people from posting most places, though the Teen chat does if they're outside of said tender age range. Since we don't have a lot of active teen users, it's probably pretty rare you'll find fellow teens in that chat room.

The thing is there seem to be quite a few teen users, but the chat room never gets used...so I'm confused! lol

Because they're in the lounge. The 17-19 want to be with the 'adult' crowd. And since the majority of teens seem to be in that range, that's where the rest follow.

H'm. I suppose its a middle child thing that makes me ok with either the lounge or the teen room. Whatever. I just wanted to know if it just happened that way, or if there was some reason I didn't know about

Hi Tinuviel. Thank you for greeting me and saying hello in the chat room a few moments ago. :)

I have the same problem when I go into the Singles Room, the Women's Ministry Room and the Prayer Room. Those rooms are usually ghost towns when I've gone in. :p

Interesting...maybe there simply aren't enough chatters to fill the rooms, and there are more people interested in the Lounge and Bible Study room. Whatever! Your welcome for the hello. I know what it's like to get completely ignored in a chat room, especially if you are new(ish).

I've been on the site nearly 5 years and get ignored in chat regularly. Mostly, in fact.

There are enough people to go into other rooms, but no one wants to for the most part, that's all there is to it. People want to go where there are other people.
And since the Lounge is the default room, that's where people go straight into, especially new users.
Also considering that they have instituted the donate requirements to get into the other rooms now, that means less people have access to other areas, which only encourages people to stay in the Lounge (or Bible Study) even more.

Hmmm, well. I've only been here for less than a year, I don't recall ignoring you when you entered the room. After they enter and get the first hello, they're on their own to enter into the chat or not as they feel inclined. :)

I don't consider automatic greetings as not being ignored haha.
But the main point of my statement is that it's not an issue of being new, but that the chats have Always been very closed and clique-ish.

Yes, they have. And woe to YOU if you break the clique!

Back when I was a teen (like 8 years ago) the teen room was poppin. Then this one dude (can't remember his name) turned 20, and everyone who chatted in teen room really liked him, so they all left and started chatting in different rooms. I believe teen chat never recovered after that.

Im always in the Louge or Bible study because I get along with adults better then teens my age. Teens often have barely and knowledge and completely different interests and views especially when it comes to our belief. But if someone wants me to come in tell me lol
