Yeah, I know it's a strange heading, but hear me out...

I have a few regular customers who are lesbians at the store where I work, and I got to thinking: Have you ever noticed that the really hardcore lesbians cut their hair very, very short? Have you ever wondered why?

1 Corinthians 11:15 says a woman's long hair is her glory. And I suspect that it is the rebellious spirit in those lesbians that subconsciously compels them to defy God by cutting their hair so short.

Does that sound plausible?

Not hard core, its the Lesbians who want to take on the male role who tend to do that.

True. But they can be masculine without cutting off all their hair.

I would say there is truth to it, as many people on this forum are probly well aware of by now, I lived that life, and I did rebel against my gender. And I did grow my hair out with the desire of being more like the opposite gender. So yes, I am sure that there are people of the opposite gender who are like I was, rebelling against the way they were created by trying to make themselves more like the male gender.

At the same time, there are people who dont live that life who dont really have traditional hair styles. I know women who dont live that life at all, who enjoy keeping their hair on the shorter end of hair styles. And while I dont grow my hair out as far as I can, I do like to keep it to about my shoulders, because I enjoy having longer hair.

I dunno if I can say its either right or wrong. I have heard that a man having long hair is shameful, but its not called a sin. And like I said, I still try to keep it more on the masculine side so people dont get the wrong idea about me : p (I just enjoy having hair) But not everyone who keeps a non-traditional hair style is rebelling against the facts of gender. Many do, and then some just really enjoy having their hair a certain way : p

No you look much more like a guy with short hair in a male hair cut.
I did it once because my ex chatted with a woman with long blonde hair. I thought: so all those are ×××× and I'm not. Went to the hair dresser and let him cut it all off in a male cut. Hahahahaha he first didn't want to do it.

The short hair often goes with masculine type clothing so it is often a case of one taking a Masculine role. Many older Women I notice have shorter hair but it is usually cut in a feminine style. I saw a Newspaper article the other day where a male journalist was urging older Women to have shorter hair styles because he said those with long hair tend to look like bag Ladies or Witches!

That's me four years ago. My husband took the picture.

Could it be you just judge minor stuff too easily?

Hes talking about a certain group of people, and in that group its definitely a thing to try to make yourself appear more like the other gender.

(I liked your hair in that picture, btw : p)

Also I think its not only rebelling against their gender but also tradition. Traditionally women had a societal pull to keep their hair 'done up' and always 'looking good' for their husband and their community. Also society said that their 'worth' was tethered to how 'pretty' they are and how well they're put together. Unfortunately that still is a societal rule, hence all of the issues that women are prone to fall into.

Also I've seen instances of when a woman is scorned by a man, if she has long hair she will cut it short as a way of 'cutting off' memories, attachments, the effort she put into their relationship etc...its just a sign that she's done with that guy. Lots of women turn to lesbianism because of being scorned and abused by men.

Please don't get me wrong - I'm not speaking of women in general who have short hairstyles. I'm speaking about those lesbians who seem to have a compulsion - subconsciously or not - to rebel against what God said about a woman's long hair being her glory, by chopping it off.

Yes a demon that makes them look like a guy enters and a lot of times because of sexual abuse.
I used to draw a beard (lol not always and not in public) and walk around dressed up as a guy for that reason and had those filthy thoughts as if I was a man until that demon got kicked out.
This a great testimony:

I always figured they were defying societies dominated by straight men, but you may be on to something here. Defying God takes on a whole new meaning. Next month starts softball season here in Jersey and every Tuesday evening I go watch the women's games where the overwhelming majority of players are lesbian. I'll keep this thread in mind and ask them.

The same can be said about men who are mocked and insulted for having long hair.

It's rebelling against their God given identity... 9/10 times if I see long hair from behind ( say a person is facing away from me) I think it's a woman. Sure there are guys occasionally with long hair but most of the time it's a way to identify a female. Cutting it short is a way of being masculine and showing that they are "tough" and not womanly.....which is more associated with a caring/comforting nature...
Lesbianism is a way of taking the male's role (protection/leadership) and trying to fulfill it through a woman who probably lacked it in some form from a male figure in their life either absent/present but not showing protection/leadership to the affected woman....a lot of these people come from broken homes where one parent is not providing the other needed dynamic that God intended whether male or female so the person ends up confused about themselves and trying to fulfill the missing role in any way possible....jmo

Not always, there are women in that lifestyle that do "identify" with the feminine aspect. Just like there are men in that lifesyle who live and act masculine.
