There are masculine and feminine haircuts. As someone who has done quite a bit of research on costuming (which entails hair styling) I can say that there are some short cuts for women that LOOK like a woman's cut even though it is short, and some guys cuts that LOOK like a masculine cut even if it is long. It is when I see a masculine/feminine cut on the opposite gender that I start to wonder...but length doesn't have anything to do with it in many cases.

It's rebelling against their God given identity.9/10 times if I see long hair from behind ( say a person is facing away from me) I think it's a woman. Sure there are guys occasionally with long hair but most of the time it's a way to identify a female. Cutting it short is a way of being masculine and showing that they are "tough" and not womanly...which is more associated with a caring/comforting nature...
Lesbianism is a way of taking the male's role (protection/leadership) and trying to fulfill it through a woman who probably lacked it in some form from a male figure in their life either absent/present but not showing protection/leadership to the affected woman....a lot of these people come from broken homes where one parent is not providing the other needed dynamic that God intended whether male or female so the person ends up confused about themselves and trying to fulfill the missing role in any way possible....jmo
Totally disagree with those two comments in red. I AM NOT "rebelling against my God-given identity". I have short hair for comfort and ease of maintenance. I'm not trying to act tough. And for the record, I'm NOT a lesbian OR gay.. lol.. I prefer short hair, it's easy to take care of. I don't need to ACT tough. I AM tough..lol So don't go making opinions on a person based on how long or short their hair is, or whether they're gay or not.

Yeah, I know it's a strange heading, but hear me out...

I have a few regular customers who are lesbians at the store where I work, and I got to thinking: Have you ever noticed that the really hardcore lesbians cut their hair very, very short? Have you ever wondered why?

1 Corinthians 11:15 says a woman's long hair is her glory. And I suspect that it is the rebellious spirit in those lesbians that subconsciously compels them to defy God by cutting their hair so short.

Does that sound plausible?
13 Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14 Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, 15 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering. 16 If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice—nor do the churches of God.

Well, I am guessing that Jesus was rebellious as well.

They didnt have cameras back then. We dont know what Jesus hair looked like................
The Bible is silent on his hair length. There is no reason to believe he had long hair like the images we have today! Matter of fact, jews of the day never wore their hair long.. Paul knew it was customarily a shame for a man to have long hair( 1 Corinth11:14)

Best Answer: A Nazirite was a person in the Old Testament who had taken a vow before God. Not cutting their hair during the time of the vow was an outward sign to people that they had taken such a vow, and allowed people to know in advance and to accommodate the vow if needed. for example, they were also forbidden to drink alcohol during that time, so it would alert a host not to serve wine, etc, to them. https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110321212142AAZXo1y

Nazarene is a title applied to Jesus, who, according to the New Testament, grew up in Nazareth,[SUP][1][/SUP] a town in Galilee, now in northernIsrael. The word is used to translate two related terms that appear in the Greek New Testament: Nazarēnos (Nazarene) and Nazōraios (Nazorean). The phrases traditionally rendered as "Jesus of Nazareth" can also be translated as "Jesus the Nazarene" or "Jesus the Nazorean",[SUP][2][/SUP] and the title "Nazarene" may have a religious significance instead of denoting a place of origin. Both Nazarene and Nazorean are irregular in Greek and the additional vowel in Nazorean complicates any derivation from Nazareth.[SUP][3] [/SUP]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazarene_(title)

Mark 14:67 When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked closely at him. “You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus,” she said.

Judges 13:5 You will become pregnant and have a son whose head is never to be touched by a razor because the boy is to be a Nazirite, dedicated to God from the womb. He will take the lead in delivering Israel from the hands of the Philistines.”

Judges 16:19 After putting him to sleep on her lap, she called for someone to shave off the seven braids of his hair, and so began to subdue him. And his strength left him.

The comments in the bible about hair lengths are in the context of the culture of that time. It really means nothing to us today, and one should not read into it anymore then the times it was written.
A digression: Why then is Jesus usually pictured with long hair?
In our society, in more recent times, certain woman groups have adopted a shorter hair style in order to make a statement, but that is the exception; for most woman it is just a matter of convenience or appearance.

The short hair often goes with masculine type clothing so it is often a case of one taking a Masculine role. Many older Women I notice have shorter hair but it is usually cut in a feminine style. I saw a Newspaper article the other day where a male journalist was urging older Women to have shorter hair styles because he said those with long hair tend to look like bag Ladies or Witches!
Jane Seymour,Celine Dion, Stevie Nicks,Susan Sarandon, to name a few have long hair and they certainly dont look like witches. or bag ladies. Older women usually cut their hair out of sheer(no pun intended) convenience. Its easier. But there are those(myself included) who dont mind the extra effort to keep up healthy long hair. My two cents:)

HAHAHA I was thinking the same thing. They didn't have cameras back then--unless someone went back in a time machine and stashed a camera (against the known rules of time travel) and rebelliously took a picture and came back from the future.,causing a major flux in the time continuum...

BOOYAH! That was one awesome movie, Willie. :D

My hair was very long most of my life. I love the auburn strawberry blonde color God gave me but it's so thick and wavy and stubborn that it's next to impossible to style. It mostly just blew all over the place with every breeze. It looked like a wild red horse's mane most of the time.

When the Matrix first came out, my daughter was a teenager then. She decided one day that she was going to style my hair like the Trinity character. I said "NO WAY!" because my hair was long my entire life, it was part of me. Nevertheless, her insistence broke me down and I found myself sitting in a chair watching all my long auburn hair fall to the floor. I cried & carried on like a big baby. She even yelled at me. It was pathetic. LOLOL!!

But afterwards, when I looked in the mirror and saw my new short hair, which she also dyed a dark burgundy/black, I was like, "OH, YEAH!" and I never grew it long again. I don't dye it anymore and I don't have it really really short like that. It's shoulder length and it's so much easier to keep tame.
