Don't close down your account. Just add your name to your profile so it's easily found :) Associate yourself with your account lol

You really came back 2 years later to resurrect a thread no one cares about? And even created a new profile to do it?

Words just cannot express!!

That was pretty rude. If you don't care about it you don't have to participate. And no, I did not come specifically to bring back this thread, but was reminded of it and did. It's an important topic, and I have more to add. Would it be better to start a whole new thread on it? I think there is a lot of good content on this one.

1 John 2:6 Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked.

Was Jesus anonymous? It's a silly question. He wouldn't have been crucified if He was.

I have my real name in my profile : /
I dont know much about being anonymous but my wife and I attended a few meetings of a group that called themselves the invisible church some time ago. We stopped going because they vanished!

What about names like the one Jesus gave James and John, "the sons of thunder" in Mark 3:17?

I dont know how they would sign up online except to sign on as James "Son of Thunder Bro 1" and John "Son of Thunder Bro 2".

That might work.

Peter made this same mistake
The story of Peter surely contributed to my act of getting a big ole cross tattooed on my forehead.

Forever unanonymous ...

Heres one in the angel of the LORD

Judges 13:18
And the angel of the LORD said unto him,
Why askest thou thus after my
name, seeing it is secret?

Anonymity fosters viciousness in many cases.
Anonymity does not always mean what people take it be... for instance, in 12 step programs, people remain anonymous only at the level of press, radio, and films (that is one of the 12 traditions), as no one person is the spokesperson for the program as a whole; we all only speak from our own experience strength and hope :) So anonymity does not mean that nobody knows anybody else. Some people even introduce themselves using first and last names. :) And of course we see each other.

Anonymity is darkness! And darkness invites sin.

(Isaiah 45:7) I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD, do all these things.

(Psalm 18:11) He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him-- the dark rain clouds of the sky.

(Isaiah 45:3) I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden wealth of secret places, So that you may know that it is I, The LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.

Darkness is not evil. Darkness means mystery and hiddenness, things which aren't known. It can hide evil, and it can hide good things too, and the Trinity use it for their purposes.

It's not good to add our own laws onto what God is doing in our lives. If holy spirit tells someone not to be anonymous, fine, but there's no commandment about it.

I keep my social security number under a cover of darkness. Those wanting me to bring it out into the light have evil intentions LOL

:) But this isn't AA, this is the Body of Christ, a city on a hill that cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14), and would you want it to be? We are meant to be seen. We are representing Christ, and we should be proud of that! We give NO room to darkness!

Luke 11:33 "No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.

Luke 8:17 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.

Jesus was not always known, if that what you mean. He even healed anonymously!

The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for
Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there.

John 5:13

And they certainly did know He was God for quite some time...

1 John 1:5-7 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
