Honestly I do feel like people spend a disproportionate amount of time griping about this once in when there are plenty of other sins we can gripe about.

Magenta, a simple question will clear up any misconceptions on our part regarding what you are saying:

Do you believe Jesus approves of homosexual behavior?

What does the Apostle Paul say, regardless of the type of sin?

Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may abound?
Rom 6:2 Let it not be! (or God Forbid ).How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
Rom 6:3 Do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death?
Rom 6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father; even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Some more of Pauls wisdom:

1Co 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1Co 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Jesus never came across homosexual sin. It was unknown in the Jewish world. It was in the Gentile world that homosexuality was common,

But He DID speak on the subject. He spoke of it many times in scripture.

People are going to hell for rejecting Christ as their lord and saviour. Nothing else.
Once you accept Christ and Holy SPirit then transformation begins, it can take a life time, but people do change and are changed, sin is defeated and they turn from that, so no different from homosexuals turning from that lifestyle.

Bashing homosexuals over the head by telling them they are going to hell for being a homosexual, is not going to win them over, just the opposite.

I do not see the same venom or hatred by so called Christians against other sinners, this thread yet again shows this hatred with a number of people posting ridiculous things about and against homosexuals.

Where are the protests and street preachers about people living together without being married? Plenty of people do not bother with marriage in this day and age and there could well be such a person in your church, so do you condemn them in same way as a homosexual and if not why not?

As Christians we have fallen into the worlds trap of going to war over homosexuality. Its now a legal thing in many countries, and we must just accept the laws of the land and live by them, allow people to practice this act freely, just as we allow people living together and having sex together without being married and allow people to watch pornography.

Love the homosexuals and tell them Jesus loves them and that they will go to hell for rejecting him, do not try to make people change their lifestyle, it won't work, Holy Spirit will do that job, not you.

The thread is should Christians be pro (support) homosexuals in their sin.

Not homosexual bashing..

Should Christians support sinners while they are in their sin? S

seems Paul did not think so.. In fact he said if it gets real bad, they were to be asked to leave the church. (not just one type of sin, but many types of sin, but sexual sin was the context)

Again, It is one thing to love a sinner, But another to condone their sin, by supporting it.

Well, let's start a thread about how wrong it is to support those unmarried couples living together.

Most, yes most posters on this thread need some time out, go and stand in a corner and get some inner spirit peace within you. A couple need a special time out for being so pedantic and argumentative when there is no reason, and one or two need to know when they are being messed with, which is not Christ like.
I am exasperated with some of the behaviour on this thread from brothers and sisters in Jesus. The thread was [h=2]Re: If homosexuality is an abomination to God, why do some Christians support it?[/h] This has hardly been touched on, instead some have seen fit to take the comments of one and turn them inside out for there own entertainment, others have joined in and made the mockery worse, obviously not having read what was written.
The fruits of the Spirit have been mentioned the process by which see how Jesus impacts our lives, but these fruits are lacking in some degree by those who bicker to get their own point across, just because they can.

As for the original thread, I personally have not come across a Christian who openly supports 'homosexuality' so I don't know what they think to support it, may be it is all news paper hype and editorial wishful thinking trying to make out the Church is full of such hypocrisy.
"Homosexuality is abhorrent to God", but if I had left it there would someone say, 'so by your omission of Jesus name in your statement you are saying Jesus condones it!' Please brothers and sisters stop your one-upmanship on each other, it only shows a lack of spiritual maturity, lets love one another and be one together, In Christ.

I dont encourage homosexuality or any sexual sin, but please let us consider the scripture;

Luk 9:52 And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.
Luk 9:53 And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.
Luk 9:54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?
Luk 9:55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
Luk 9:56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them

so is condoning their sin, going to save them?

No. Again.... no.

I have yet to see anyone here saying they condone it. If that's the only question, then this thread should be done.

I don't know ANY Christians that CONDONE it.

Acknowledging that it exists, and is a sin, is another thing altogether. For some reason, it seems that some folks here have decided that living a homosexual lifestyle is much worse than living a gossipy lifestyle, or a prideful lifestyle.
Jesus came to change us, to make us more like Him. Saying that a homosexual that has been saved has to immediately stop his sin is just as ludicrous as saying that an alcoholic can never ever take another drink by mistake. Sometimes it takes a lifetime of starting over to get past a sin. That's where God's grace covers us as believers.. when our human, sinful selves mess up, and we start over.

if you have read my past posts since I have been here in this subject, You will see we are in 100 % agreement, When someone judges one sin over another, We are in danger, and that is wrong.

But when 4 people say it is ok in another thread, which is the reason this got started) then I must say, Something is wrong, and some of the comments, It is sad.

Amen!..I agree

There are some "mature" Christians if you will..that say it is ok for them to be in the gay lifestyle...of course they are deceived and ignorant of their true identity in Crist.

They come up with reasons why it's ok for them to do whatever they want...kinda like some people do when they say " The Lord told me to divorce my wife and marry this other one because He wants us to minister together - we are so alike.."

These people are ignorant of the nature of God nor know of His power to us-ward that believe.

We must remember that the whole world is reading these posts. This is our chance to witness and testify to the whole world of the goodness and grace God has made available to all of His children. We must learn to let it lead and guide our words and actions on a daily basis.

Don't mean to sound preachy, but we are our brother's keepers and we are accountable to each other in a sense.

(Not actually gonna be responding to any other posts but totally interrupting with my own opinion here but anywho...)

I understand the idea that there are people who though claiming to stand on Gods word that its wrong, dont believe its right to take legal actions against homosexual people or pass laws against them, and thats all fine. I would even say I agree with it. But there often seems to be a bit of shaming those who talk about spreading the Gospel, too. And that irks me. I read too many posts that say things like "Im not gonna force my views on others".

We are commanded to spread the Gospel. Not to sit quietly and play it safe. I do think those who make comments like these are wrong.

And I get the whole "are we spreading the Gospel or shaming sinners" thing, but still, saying its Gods will to not do anything at all is not what we are told in the bible. I want everyone to know the Gospel. They may refuse it, and most probly will. But I want those who will come to Him to definitely come to Him.
And there are people in this life as well who will come to Him.
