I do think I'm hearing you correctly ...

the video explains the three parts of man - his spirit, his soul and his body ...

It distinguishes our spirit from the holy spirit that lives in us.

Is this not what you were asking about?
She asked you how many times about the human spirit.

Again, You should reread what she said, I think you have misunderstood her.

and PS.. Most people in here do not like having videos shoved in their face. This is a discussion forum, we like to discuss what we believe. Not what someone else does.

Scriptures do say that God will create in us a new spirit. We are a new creation in Christ.

Ezekiel 11:19 (NASB)
[SUP]19 [/SUP] "And I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them. And I will take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh,

We have a new inner man of the heart which is our spirit. The old man is dead and gone now...

Romans 8:10 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

Romans 8:16 (NASB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,

1 Corinthians 6:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

Galatians 6:18 (KJV)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

There are tons of scriptures that talk about our hearts being new too. Eph 4:23-24 for our inner man of the heart..created in righteousness and holiness.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,

Yes Grace777x70 - that's the verse I wanted to find!!! :D

So he is able to. But he is not.. can you explain how God could fail to do what he promised to do?

Paul warned us about falling back into a way we stop being light, He warned us to test to make sure we had real faith, and not false legalistic faith. Or false faith (as James said, a dead faith) which would never save anyone.

Most of his teachings were against legalistic jews trying to add works to grace, and you want to use him to support a works based Gospel? Thats like using him to contradict his very teaching.

Hm You should question why then, Because the apostle john said a believer can not live in sin, Because they have been born of God.

So how could you live in sin? (like the world)
He didn't only warn the foolish Galatians who were keeping the Jewish laws to become righteous like not eating pork, he also warned the Corinthians not to go back to fornication and flee from sexual immorality. If that was all impossible, why bother to warn?

1 Peter 3:3-4 (KJV)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
[SUP]4 [/SUP] But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

If this "hidden man of the heart" ( which is our new creation in Christ - our new spirit man that Ezekiel prophesied would come ) cannot be corruptible...how do we lose our salvation?

He warned the Galatians who were adding works to the gospel. that they were teaching a different gospel. which must be cursed.

do you understand the difference between salvation and sanctification?

for my wife and I, not only is the meaning of 'Eternal-Holy-Love' totally describing our Creator/Maker/Designer,
but also it shows us that He is the 'un-breakable', Holy-golden-thread...which describes
His part in all of-our lives and super-naturally holds us together with His Loving-Spiritual-glue...

we, on the other hand, by His grace, have been given a 'free-will' to make our own choices while
surviving upon our earthly home -
so while we remain inside of our earthly-vessels in this wicked world and have not put-on our
Holy-divine-sinless nature as yet, let us fervently pray that we hold fast in our loyalty and thankfulness
while we run this amazing race so lovingly chosen for us from our Father -
and when He calls us, may we run our race using all of His Spiritual Gifts - and may we never deny
the Holy Son of God and the Holy Sacrificial privileges that He has so honored and blessed us with.....

I think a lot of confusion comes in with the word "salvation"..to some it means just going to heaven. Salvation means so much more them that ( altho that is the ultimate reward from believing in our Savior)

- however on this earth - salvation means wholeness , peace, healing, preservation. If we walk according to the flesh we will not experience the benefits of what is ours in the kingdom now. We have the kingdom of God inside of us ( our new man in Christ ) now because we are in Christ.

If we walk according to the flesh we will not be able to access the things of the kingdom inside of us. Only have a one dimensional view of the word "salvation" as meaning only to go to heaven can cause us to mis-interpret the scriptures....which is what I think works-based salvationists do when they view scripture through their own self-effort "lens".

Some call it the new re-created spirit after the old man died on the cross with Christ...it has different names..new inner man of the heart.....new creature in Christ...the new man....new spirit within us...new self..etc.

Whatever people feel comfortable saying..it means we are NEW....that greek word means "new in kind"

Yes ... and the new "nature" is a new spirit. :)

Yes own works, like not eating pork, not eating shellfish, not have clothes of 2 fabrics and all that stuff. I can't imagine he meant it was a false gospel, because they were doing works from the law like not committing adultery, not murdering, not having false gods. Oh stop it, you are bewitched with your false gospel. Go kill your neighbour now. That makes no sense at all. Sanctification is that your mind gets renewed and your soul gets holy and your faith gets tested. If that doesn't happen and you stay in the same old sins and live like the world or go back to it, you can loose your salvation.

You failed to answer my question.

Do you know that salvation and sanctification are two terms, which represent two different things.

You have not proven a child of God CAN go back to living in sin.. You seem to be missing this point, and only want to argue they can.

Again, John said a child of God can not live like the world. Did John lie?

Should I listen to the apostle John who walked wiht Christ, or to some person on the internet?

Agree, but would say, He made our spirit alive, not a new spirit.
."that greek word means "new in kind"" - Grace777x70

Yes ... not something renewed, but new in kind.

Old seeds often renew in the spring ... but God planted a seed that was new in kind ... replacing the old one.

Our spirit is no longer a tulip ... but now a rose.

No, I can not agree, unless I misunderstand what your saying.

Not new as in the idea of a brand new spirit which you never had before, I do not agree,

It is the human spirit, which was dead in trespasses and sin, Made alive in Christ, having been born again and washed clean.

This is what ember was trying to get you to see.

We humans tend to believe what ever comes in our minds or what we were told by well-meaning religious people...but it doesn't necessarily make it true.

I can choose to believe that if I walk on glass on my knees for a mile once a month to show my fruits of repentance to God..I will never lose salvation...( of course I have no scripture for this but that's not relevant to what I want to believe )

Yes...that is what we mean by a new spirit...not one we never had before but a new one in the sense of being made brand new in Christ....made alive in Christ....having been born -again and washed..sanctified..redeemed...new inner man of the heart..all good terms to say the same thing basically..

Listen to John and a preacher on another forum who hasn't committed one sin since he saw Jesus 30 years ago. He says anyone who sins is from the devil.
